I don't care about changing his opinion on the S2, but I refuse to be silent while he attacks the character of a 21 year old that has done nothing wrong.

I've hung out with all sorts of characters, including a member of a notorious motorcycle club, drug dealers, guys associated with a certain notorious Italian group, etc. It happens when you play live music and work for an international business.

It says nothing about me other than I'm capable of being myself without being influenced by others.

So you trust those guys, and also claim to trust the guys that made the actual S2 test. Then this should matter to you, as well (except it undermines your narrative):

Brandon Ally, a cofounder of the test, stated Monday on The Pat McAfee Show that the leaked S2 scores for the quarterbacks in this year’s draft class weren’t entirely accurate and did not hold the proper context. Earlier in the year, he said to take any leaked score with “a grain of salt.” Source: SI.com

HOUSTON — The Houston Texans may not have had a winning record on the field over the past few seasons, but they have been winners at the bank.

The team, which is owned by Janice McNair, was ranked the sixth most-profitable sports team in the world, according to a new report from Forbes magazine. The Texans’ in-state rival, the Dallas Cowboys, top the list which includes a total of 13 NFL teams.

According to Forbes, the Texans had a three-year total operating income of $356 million. These are the earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization.

The Cowboys top the list at $1.17 billion over the same period, according to the report. The New England Patriots, another notable NFL franchise, were ranked second with $623 million.

These figures for the NFL teams came from the 2019-2021 seasons, the report states.

In their report, Forbes said the NFL leads the list since they limit players' salaries to just under 50% of revenue and have such lucrative broadcasting deals.

The Tottenham Hotspur FC, of the English Premier League, the NBA’s New York Knicks, and Manchester United, also of the EPL, rounded out the top five.

Two other Texas teams made the top 25, both NBA. The Dallas Mavericks ranked 16th with $282 million and the Houston Rockets ranked 23rd with $240 million, the report states.

No MLB, including Houston Astros, who are coming off their second World Series Championship, or NHL teams made the list.

According to the report, this is due in part to those leagues’ gate receipts suffering during the COVID-19 pandemic.

HOUSTON — DeAndre Hopkins is a free agent for the first time in his illustrious NFL career, and a reunion with the Houston Texans - who drafted him in 2013 - remains a possibility.

Hopkins spent seven seasons in Houston and posted 1,000 receiving yards in five of them before he was traded to Arizona in 2020.

Now he's available once more, and while the Texans have undergone a significant amount of changes to their wide receiver corps this offseason, now is not the time for a reunion with the veteran wideout - at least not according to the hosts at Locked on Texans, Coty Davis and John Hickman, and guest Brian Barefield.

"I think what you will do is handicap your rookie quarterback because D-Hop in his mind is wide receiver one," Barefield said. "You can never tell him he's not wide receiver one. So if he comes here CJ [Stroud] is going to feel obligated to throw it to him because if he doesn't DeAndre is going to say something."

Houston traded veteran wideout Brandin Cooks earlier this offseason, but they brought in another veteran, Robert Woods, to fill his role while also signing Noah Brown and drafting a pair of wideouts in Tank Dell and Xavier Hutchinson.

While Hopkins would no doubt contribute to this Houston squad, adding a player like this could stunt the development of Houston's younger wide receivers while creating a more difficult team to navigate for Stroud - who is expected to start over Davis Mills in 2023.

Hopkins has been connected to a handful of teams already, including a reunion with old friend Deshaun Watson in Cleveland and a move to New England to join the Patriots. While a return to Houston makes sense on paper, there are plenty of reasons this team may avoid making this move ahead of Stroud's rookie season.

The Dolphins gained the most from a post-June 1 cut (Byron Jones) this year, creating $13.6MM in cap space from a deal that will spread out the cornerback’s dead money through 2024. But the Browns (John Johnson, Jadeveon Clowney) and Cowboys (Ezekiel Elliott) created more than $10MM in space as well.
The Jets’ number is a bit deceiving. They are still working on a restructure with Aaron Rodgers, as the trade acquisition’s cap number — after a Packers restructure — sits at just $1.22MM. In 2024, that number skyrockets to $107.6MM. Rodgers’ cap hit will almost definitely will climb before Week 1, so viewing the Jets along with the other teams north of $20MM in space is not entirely accurate.
Minnesota is moving closer to separating from its $12.6MM-per-year Dalvin Cook contract. The team already created some space by trading Za’Darius Smith to the Browns. Cleveland, which is one of the teams connected to DeAndre Hopkins, added Smith and did so with help from its Deshaun Watson restructure. Watson was set to count $54.9MM against the Browns’ 2023 cap. That number is down to $19.1MM, though the Browns’ restructure both ballooned Watson’s mid-2020s cap figures to $63.9MM — which would shatter the NFL record — and added a 2027 void year.
Tampa Bay and Los Angeles sit atop the league in dead money, with the Bucs — largely from their April 2022 Tom Brady restructure — checking in at $75.3MM here. That total comprises nearly 33% of the Bucs’ 2023 cap sheet. The Rams, at more than $74MM, are not far behind. Despite the Bills and Chiefs — the teams most frequently tied to Hopkins — joining the Bucs and Rams near the bottom of the league in cap space, both AFC contenders also sit in the bottom five in dead money.

Way back when Faces of Death came out on VHS, my then teenage nephews got me to see it. Not to be a spoiler, but it starts out with animals being killed. The last one, a monkey, was particularly horrific. Then, an animal killed a person. After all of the humans killing animals, I actually cheered for the human death.

That stuff can get to you.

The two years leading up to my end stage liver disease (from alcoholism) I got into a very morbid mood and spent way too much time (any amount of time was too much) on gore sites and reading every true crime serial killer book I could get my hands on. I watched a lot of necklacing videos out of Africa. You can google necklacing but I highly recommend not seeking any videos or pictures. I think the gore sites have been banned but I'm not sure.

Since my liver transplant I can't look at any of that kind of stuff. I think the heavy alcohol use (up to a liter of 100 proof vodka a day) poisoned my mind and desensitized it from violence.
 
I can't find the Hopkins thread so I'm sharing this here rather than create a new thread.

Maybe that ship has sailed buy is it possible that the staff could bring him in and asked to mentor all of the younger players?

I rarely drink, but am highly desensitized to that stuff anyhow. Mostly just from surfing the web over the years. Was a member of most of the gore sights when they existed, and key take away from those vids is what country(ies) not to travel to.

Nor should they care. Doesn't mean the score isn't correct. I know if it was my score and it was incorrect I would be shouting from the mountain tops letting people know my score was incorrect.

The dumbazz McNair's encouraged/allowed him to be picked anyways. So the score no longer matters.

Methodology: In order to discover how rich every NFL is, GOBankingRates used Forbes’ “NFL Team Values 2022” data to find the following factors for all 32 NFL teams; (1) revenue from the 2021-22 season; (2) operating income for the 2021-22 season; (3) current team value entering the 2022-23 season, and (4) the 1-year change in value from the start of the 2021-22 season to the start of the 2022-23 season. Only factor (1) was used to determine final rankings. All data was collected on and up to date as of August 23, 2022.

I like to check in to Texans Talk everyday. For a time when I am the most optimistic or at least hopeful for a new direction from new leadership, I find negativity infecting every thread by a select few. I'm mostly a lurker but the constant downer is having me rethink visiting here. After all, it is supposed to be a FAN site.

The negativity you will find from me is mainly in the Stroud threads. Sorry guys like me make you feel this way.

It's possible to be a fan of the team, but not be a fan of ownership. A fan should be able to recognize history repeating itself and still be a fan of the team.

Pitt Panthers receiver Jared Wayne did not get drafted but will get his shot at the NFL.
PITTSBURGH -- Pitt Panthers wide receiver Jared Wayne was not one of the 259 players taken in the 2023 NFL Draft but he will still get his chance to make an NFL roster after the Houston Texans signed him as an undrafted free agent immediately following the draft.

Wayne improved steadily with each passing year at Pitt. He made four starts in 2019 and three in 2020 while hauling in a combined 39 passes for 587 yards and two touchdowns. "Earnings" is a financial term (like in financial accounting) and those earnings are yes required to be reported publicly thru the SEC if the entity/company's securities including common stack are traded publicly but the Texans are not since most if not all NFL teams are privately held corporations I believe.
Now of course the Texans and other NFL organizations pay income taxes but that's strictly between the teams and the IRS and state revenue authorities.

market value equity ? I assume it's book other wise they are obviously mixing apples and oranges.
I have some accounting background but I'm sure no expert on valuing pro sports franchises.
