Hit what off? BS ing at the probowl. It was never Culley, it was Jack. Jack was the guy walking around with power when they shouldn't. That was Jack. If Jack was fired and the slate was clean and Caserio hired whomever he wanted, white or black, we're not having these posts.
Easterby won't get another contract once his expires. They just don't want to fire him, would rather him disappear as his contract expires quietly into the sunset. JMO

1-3, should be 2-2 learning on the job.

It amazes me how impatient people are. Right now they're the 3rd best team talent wise in their division. Probably end up a wildcard team. Need to draft ol this off-season. The iol is fairly strong in the upcoming draft. The OT position not so much.
Based on that game I watched in Kansas City last night and Vegas having a 17 - 0 lead only to lose, certainly would qualify Josh to be the Texans head coach. Then again even Josh wouldn't return Caserio's calls.

IMO after the 2023 season, there will be a mass exodus with Lovie, Caserio, and Easterby all being shown the door. It will be the old thank you for your service to the Houston Texans but we have decided to go in a different direction. Daniel Calhoun will start all over again or hopefully, the other McNair siblings will be able to persuade Janice to sell the franchise.

Didn't see the game.

Lol

You really believe this, or just hope this happens?

I'm just hoping Cal can be patient when it comes to drafting a QB, unlike his dad.

We can only hope. I'm in the same camp as you, in that I don't think next year is the year to be drafting a QB with a 1st round pick. If Mills is an utter failure, then bring in a vet for 2023 and draft a QB in 2024 when the team is (hopefully) fit and ready for a good QB to actually be able to do something.

Because even if Mills somehow ends up being "the answer", he won't be able to "answer" until he has more talent around him anyway. Pierce certainly seems to be a good start in that direction.

I really like how Lovie fixed the secondary in one draft and hope he fixes the DL in the upcoming draft.

Well if I got +1200 to 1 odds I would bet it. Yeah after another (2) Top 5 draft picks I believe the city of Houston and the fans will demand a change and a house cleaning including Caserio and Easterby.

Disagree.

The city loves the young blood and rooting for new players.

The city is rallying around Pierce, Stingley, Pitre and Green.

If Harris can deliver some big hits the city will fall in love with the defense.

Add another crop of rookies performing at the level these rookies are performing at and the city will be electric.

The wins will come. Then in 2024 the city will be ready for the next fresh face of the franchise - a rookie QB.

There’s going to be some very disappointing fans after the 2023 drafts. Especially if they draft a quarterback in round one.

I'll be one of them. I think we need to build the rest of the team first.
They have 10 draft picks in the first three rounds in 23/24. So they can fill those needs as well. Not only that but Nick has hit on quite a few of those later rounds ( especially with the 4th round pick D. Pierce). Makes no sense to be mad at all.

Man stop it. The conversation was going good but you just have to F it up with this nonsense.
I already answered your question, I will root for whoever is picked. But I choose not to ignore history with this franchise, because when you get right down to the nut cutting the McNair's are the issue. Their lack of patience and not giving any GM the ability to hire the HCof their choosing is a McNair trademark and the reasons why the Texans org has been a failure for over 2 decades.

I still remember the good old days when fans said Bob McNair was still learning how to be an owner after 8 yrs in 2010. Meanwhile he was making his franchise worth billions, the 6th wealthiest franchise in the NFL as of today and was on the NFL finance committee. Still learning LMAO, doing things like drafting Carr/hiring a local guy as HC was smart business. Was it good for winning championships? Not so much.

The difference is, I don't think that guy is in this draft. If I were to take one of the top 3 in '23, it would probably be Levis. I'll watch more film on all of them at the end of the season if I think we are going that way. Bryce Young is a playmaker, but he is too small. He's Kylar Murray 2.0 in my eyes, and I don't think he will ever make us a consistent winner. He'll make things exciting here and there, but I don't think he can bring a championship to Houston. Stroud is an enigma. There is just something about him that I don't like. I'll figure it out later if I think there is a chance that we take a QB.

Either way, the Next QB we draft needs to be able to come into a sound situation, and not have to worry about running for his life after 2 seconds.

That’s what you think. What we think is not what Caserio and the Texans think. They started the build in 2021. Last year they hit on quite a few of their picks. So far we can trust Caserio to make the right choices. Therefore, if he thinks that guy is in the 2023 draft. You have to continue to trust him.

If he thinks that guy is there in the '23 draft, then he has to take him. I don't think he is.

If I remember correctly we were going through quarterbacks at a record pace. That’s why McNair stepped in.

With Carr no, With Watson yes.

I hope they stop stepping in, look where it got them. The only time they didn't step in was with Kubiak. Rightfully so.

Yes, as you said "so far". Two more drafts like the last one and we'll be in really good shape. The next draft will tell us a lot in this regard.
Exactly what I was going to post! I believe car stereo can get a lengthy extension after the 2023 season but I would not be shocked to see our head coach and offensive coordinator leave

He’s a rising QB who’s earned the starting role on one of the best talent factories in the nation, hardly an enigma. Plus leadership, intelligence and understanding proven/coached concepts. Live arm, accuracy into tight windows and the size with athletic ability to extend plays. The enigma has been the Texans inability to evaluate most important position in the NFL.

Is Bryce young possibly Drew Brees 2.0?

Depends…..are you counting on the current staff to make that happen or the Texans hiring Sean Payton as their new HC?
No I do not think that Bryce Young is Drew Brees but he does not have to be. Also let me be clear I do not think the Texans will even be in the hunt for Sean Payton or anyone of his caliber.
As of this moment I do not think our coaching staff is the correct one for the future regardless of who the quarterback is.

How is Stroud an enigma?

KC wasn't in a rebuild. Soon as Andy Reid got the job, he traded for Smith and they started winning games and making the playoffs. Once he witnessed Alex Smith could only take the team so far, he traded up and got the qb in a draft when it was said there were no franchise qb's. Remember, they were drafting in the 20's and that's Andy Reid a proven winner. If you tell me the Texans has anyone even close to Andy Reid in terms of accomplishment, then I'm with it, but they don't.

Seattle was pretty much built when they drafted Russ.
If anyone thought Russ would be Russ, he wouldn't been drafted in the 3rd rd. When we were at the sr bowl, I asked Pat if he was a athlete playing qb or a athletic qb? Also, if they would've thought he was a franchise qb, they wouldn't have paid Flynn. Remember, they hadn't been better than 7-9 under Pete until that time.

That’s not the point. They built the team then went after a QB. They paid Flynn & took a flyer on Russ.
