Young looks a lot more accurate and poised than Stroud. Indiana didn't belong on the field with OSU though. Ole Miss pushed Bama hard. It came down to one or two plays like most good games do
Yeah, Young never looks flustered even when he makes a mistake. He has great poise to me.

not necessarily. You miss on a trench guy or any other nonspecialist position you can maybe slide him along the line or corps and get some use out of him as a guard, or at RT….a cb can possibly transition to safety…a 3D edge pass rusher can maybe just transition as a specialist etc. even then if you miss completely, you can just cut bait & the development of your team isnt set back by years. Aside from that, there’s usually no internal debate delaying things…..”well, maybe if he had this…new coach…more weapons… etc..” basically the debate we’re having about Mills now. Missing on a trench guy ain’t really holding nothing up in terms of the development of your team like a qb does.
It used to be like that under the old rules with the big bonus money qb 's used to get like that. Sam Bradford was the last bonus baby. Nowadays, imo, it doesn't set your franchise back because you can cut the guy and draft another like at other positions. Cardinals did it with Rosen and the Panthers,Browns, and Jets did it with their qb's also. If you draft high and miss, its a miss regardless and its a loss draft pick. Look at Sio and Martin. The Texans had to go back and correct those mistake the same as they did when Clowney didn't work out. At the end of the day its about getting the 1st-3rd rd picks right especially if you're drafting high in those rds. I can understand the point that the qb gets more leeway because he's the single most important player in sports probably, but on the same hand he can cover alot of misses.

He played well.

Did Y'all have a good time?
It was cool, their presentation was great. I wanted to see TCU vs Texas, but we've been there 3 or 4 times and its his future career, not mine, so we went to Waco. Baylor has a few next level players and you know my feelings about Vaughn, I really like him alot.

As a freshman, Spencer Rattler at Oklahoma took the nation by storm and was projected to be one of the greatest to come out in years. The next year he was exposed and lost his job and had to transfer to South Carolina
Williams wasn't a transfer was he? He was the #1 qb coming out I thought.

Bad examples b/c the Panthers are still in qb purgatory…all they keep doing by recycling these failed qbs from other teams is delaying and resetting the clock on what they already know is inevitable and has to happen; the conplete tear down…lost promising WR Robbie Anderson…just shipped out CM3…all b/c they were waiting for bad qbs to try to develop…or bounce back.

the Browns had been doing that for 10+ years & finally gave up and decided to pay out the ass to get a proven commodity at qb…but there’s still a penance to be paid..their promising defense…the window they had just cracked with Mayfield looks to already be closed b/c their defense has fallen off a cliff in recent years when they were….you guessed it, waiting for Mayfield.. to take that next step….a step that he never took.

Stay in the present please. Brown drafted Baker #1 and when the chance to move on and Warson off field incidents happened, they moved on. The Jets drafted Darnold and 4 years later drafted Wilson. Did it set them back? Panthers haven't been right since Cam was right and should've won the superbowl but didn't. Hired the college coach, traded for 2 failures at the moment, but their franchise isn't set back 5 years either. They can right the ship by solving that qb situation this year ot next and they do have extra draft picks from the CMC trade. Its not like it used to be. Its not a finacial mistake like it was pre rookie salary cap is all I'm saying.

No I do not think that Bryce Young is Drew Brees but he does not have to be. Also let me be clear I do not think the Texans will even be in the hunt for Sean Payton or anyone of his caliber.
As of this moment I do not think our coaching staff is the correct one for the future regardless of who the quarterback is.

Mills vs Young = Stroud
I watched the Maryland OSU game, fine weather, average team, and Stroud did not look special through 3 quarters. I just don't see it. Talented guy on a very talented team, but he does not stand out like he should in games like this, NOrthwestern was a flop as well... Just don't see a 1.1 here.

Do you think Cal will let Caserio wait until 2024 to draft a QB to go along with a new HC.
24 is the last of the DW4 ransom. Hard for me to imagine Cal not starting fresh if things continue to be disappointing. I haven’t seen anything to change my mind that anything will change. Although after todays game I could see where panic could be setting in. I think when Cal makes a change it will be a full house cleaning. I know you don’t want to hear this but the next Cal change will be a complete exorcism of all things Bill OBrien.

Caserio will still be the GM in 2023, 2024, 2025…... What could change and probably will is a new coaching staff selected by Caserio the next go round if Lovie fails to move the needle in 2023.

Well of course I disagree with this. IMO I have opined that Cal has seen enough of Caserio's GM skills to know Caserio doesn't have any GM skills. However, Cal does appreciate Nick as a facilitator. I said after the Washington game that it appears as though panic may be setting in. With the QB change for Sunday, PANIC HAS SET IN.

If Cal has an ounce of sense left in his brain he can still come to understand that he has 4 1st RD picks in the next two drafts but sticking with this group of misfits wastes the best chance the Texans have. Hopefully, he will have an epiphany and realization that his best chance for his Texans is a clean fresh start Jan 9th, 2023. He will also have the shiniest incentives (4 of them) to go after a high-profile successful coach to come to Houston in 2023. Something he has never been able to do before.

Deep end plunge cowboy…..no panic necessary. Like last season Mills has been sat in favor of giving him a chance to clear his head. Hopefully Allen does a better job than Taylor did when he was reinserted. I guess we’ll all see if the this Texans team can rally around Allen and suddenly play like a functional NFL football team. Anybody think Allen can help slow down an opposing offenses rushing attack?

Surely not, they've already drafted 2 first round QBs in the last six years... Darnold & Wilson. Surely they're not going to keep doing the same thing expecting different results.
I agree but they are the Jets and I think the smell coming from the kitchen will have them salivating for one of the top QBs. Hopefully car stereo will be able to use teams such as Jets possibly trading up to encourage other teams to up their offers.

It wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if Caserio passed on a QB in 2024 and the draft went something like this.

1. Jalen Carter
1. Tyree Wilson
2. Jared Verse
3.Rickey Stromberg
3. Adrei Iosivas WR Princeton- 6'3 205, 6.71 60 meters.
4. Steve Avila
4. trade up for Cade Stover

Fix the trenches this yr and get your QB next yr.
