The Actual And Real 2016 Texans' Talk Mock Draft Extravaganza

With the 102nd pick in the 2016 NFL Draft select; Roberto Aguayo, K, FSU

The San Diego Chargers draft a 90% + PK and cure all PK ills for the next 20 years.

lol yeah, safe for the moment. Obviously Ravens don't need a K as they have arguably the best in the game.

I think this is a great pick though. Everyone always scoffs at kickers, but man, when you find one, your team is sooo much better. Being a Texans fan all these years really makes you appreciate a great kicker and the desire to have one on your football team.

I would like to see him perform in the 40 though. Those numbers seem to be conveniently hidden.

Agree, having a GREAT Kicker can improve your scoring by as much as 20-30 points in a season and be the winning difference in 1, 2 or more games a year. San Diego was Kicker poor.

Will he be a Great Pro kicker like he was a Great NCAA kicker? Some are and some aren't.

Yeah, he will. You can't fake what he did. He got better every year and the moment was never too big for him. If I could draft a potential Adam Vinatieri in the 4th and I have a lower level JAG kicking for me currently this is an easy decision IMO.

Texans will probably be gun shy forever after Fat Randy though, but Aguayo is legit.

Jacksonville selects Blake Martinez - ILB, Stanford

Jags need a successor to Paul Posluszny at MLB. Martinez is a tackling machine with underrated athleticism. Stanford mainly used him as a thumper so he got the rep as being limited athletically, but he shed that label at the Senior Bowl where he proved he can play sideline to sideline. He's tough, has a great work ethic, and a nose for the ball. What else to you want in a MLB?

Love this pick,

Would really like to see Martinez as Cushing's successor.

With the 104th pick in the NFL Draft

If your team is in desperate need of OLine help it's tough to look past the Texas school many love to hate. guy whose name sounds like he should be a character on Game of Thrones. They say he's got some work to do to cut it as a Tackle in the NFL. OK, cool, we got 2 pretty good tackles when healthy and we just lost "arguably" the best Guard in the NFL. So you got time to learn to play the edges.

B Ravens select:

Germain Ifedi - OT/OG - Texas A&M - 6'6" - 324 lbs.

Spencer Drango - OT/OG - Baylor - 6'5" - 315 lbs.

With the 106th pick in the TT Mock Draft the Chicago Bears select Jalen Mills CB/S, LSU. The Bears need a S who can drop down and cover the slot. Mills has the ability to do this and frankly I cant believe he is still on the board. (Very scheme versatile guy.)

Mills is a late 2nd rd talent on my board and with the need at CB in the NFL these days the Bears were very lucky. LSU DB"s are usually ready to play early in their careers and I believe Mills will be another one of those guys. The talent is there.

Honestly he got worse every year going from a 95.5% , to 90% to 80.8%.

What was up with that?

Idk and its not like his first year or two he was only taking a bunch of short easy FGs.

His whole career he is perfect from 0-39 yards. then his stats as following from 40-49 and 50 + each year are

40/49 50+
made-att made/att

2013 8/9 1/1
2014 6/8 3/4
2015 4/7 1/3

Not saying he is not a good kicker because he is, I just dont think he is this perfect cant miss kicking prospect. I know where he is graded to go but I would still have a hard time taking him before the 5th

Miami selects QB Jeff Driskel.

Nothing against Tannehill, I just can't stand a backup who's satisfied with being a backup.

When you prove yourself legit you are asked to do more. You are asked to take and attempt kicks your coach would have never tried in the past.

If you look at Justin Tucker last year he was asked to boot 55 yarders that with another kicker they would have likely just punted with. It doesn't mean Tucker is losing it. It's just one of those things.

I have no idea where one finds advanced college kicking stats, but I'd like to see the last college kicker that came out flawless on less than 40. Then you gotta factor in that he's 21 years old and it's not crazy to believe he will get stronger and better at kicking a football when that is his main / only focus.

Also need to check weather on game days, IIRC it was a abnormally wet El Nino kind of Fall.

I'm confused. Is this legitimately his pick?

Should we put @The Pencil Neck on the clock for Detroit?

Or are you just predicting what Marshall is going to do?

It was a joke (attempted joke). I was just trying to be funny and imply he was going to take CBS' BPA regardless of need.

If it wasn't funny, I understand, and will refrain from jokes for 4 days.

I did chuckle to myself as I hit send tho FWIW.

It was funny, but confusing. I thought he had actually sent you his pick

I believe so, Marshall said in an earlier post he had a Dr.'s appt today and another one next week. In addition to some work with the chior. He sent in his top 100 to somebody.

Just because it went over my head doesn't mean it wasn't funny. Let out a little chuckle myself now that I understand your post.

I highly encourage jokes at Marshall's expense.

He's always a good sport.
