The Actual And Real 2016 Texans' Talk Mock Draft Extravaganza

With the 91st pick in the TT Mock Draft the New England Patriots select Nick Vigil LB Utah St.

Vigil has the same instincts that Matakevich has but has more athletic ability. I couldn't think of a guy Belichick would like more to lead his defense. (A new Bruschi)

I agree that Nassib is the value pick here, but playing devil's advocate it seems as if we are totally disregarding pre-draft strategy. The talk was that we had to strengthen OL and WR and TE.

Haeg would've been my pick.

Jihad Ward, Illinois, 5- tech DE 6-5 297

would be my vote for TEXANS

Aint nothing like a little Jihad on the Texans.

Will never happen

You honestly think Bob McNair will ever have a guy named Jihad on his team? More likely Oakman will be the next starting DE. LOL

With the 92nd pick the Arizona Cardinals select Willie Henry - DT, Michigan

Cardinals are getting old up front and need to beef up their DL with some young prospects. This is the draft to do it. Henry is a violent defender who is strong at the point of attack and can also add some pass rush inside. His bull rush is particularly brutal. He has experience playing both 3' tech and 5' tech at Michigan, which will work to his advantage in Arizona where they like to squeeze their edge rushers down to the LOS and slide one of their DE's to a 3' to allow for more one-on-one pass rushing matchups.

Carolina selects - OT Kyle Murphy, Stanford, 6-6 305

Panthers already acquired Cardinal teammate David Yankey from Minnesota who could reunite @ LG with Murphy LT. Inside is set the edges need work but Murphy should develop into a solid pro, his strongest suit in pro style system they ran @ Stanford is a running attack & ball control. His pass pro will be limited & fits Panther offense better than most. Ideal situation for him & good value @ position of need for them.

With the 95th pick, the Lions turn their attentions to their dline and take Charles Tapper, DE, Oklahoma.

With two picks at the back end of this round I wanted to come out with Howard and Glasgow, but my plan was shattered right before this selection. We'll still take Day as a consolation prize. He played mostly as a five technique run stopper in college but we think he's out of position there at the next level. I actually think Day's positional versatility is very limited in the NFL but he just so happens to be a perfect fit in Seattle's 43 Under defense as a three technique interior penetrator. He'll be sandwiched between two run stoppers with a NT opposite him and an oversized SDE outside him, leaving him free to wreak havoc on the interior OL in passing situations.

Here's where things get a little more difficult. Hard to keep up with top prospects still available. Can anyone share some top options I should look at?

What positions are you looking at? Or just BPA?

The Browns could use help in the secondary. Jalen Mills of LSU and Darian Thompson of Boise State are still available.

You have any positions of need?

Straight off my board I've got:

Kentrell Brothers, ILB, Missouri
Pharoh Cooper, WR, South Carolina
Devontae Booker, RB, Utah
Jalen Mills, FS, LSU
Alex Collins RB, Arkansas
Rashard Higgins WR, Colorado State
Will Redmond, CB, Mississippi State

I'd go OT or S for the Browns here.

At OT you have Spencer Drango still out there. S has quite a few options: Darian Thompson, KJ Dillon, Justin Simmons, and Jalen Mills are all available.

With the 1st pick in the 4th round of the 2016 NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns select Kentrell Brothers, Outside Linebacker out of the University of Missouri.

South+Carolina+Missouri+Football

Darian Thompson was almost the pick here, but he seemed to be more of a swing for the fences type safety. Tremendous upside with his ball skills, while Brothers just seems to be a high IQ football player that will never be the most athletic guy on the field but will be one of the smartest. It boiled down to Cleveland desperately needing guys that play smart football and not a bunch of flash on defense.

Thoughts on the pick?

Cripes! I was even going to use the same pic!
Sorry Lucky!

When I said I was about to submit the pick, Thompson was who I was about to write in. Then I kept looking at Brothers and the more and more I felt like he made the most sense. Too funny though!

With pick #100 of the 2016 Texans Talk Mock Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select:

Scooby Wright - ILB - Arizona

Very similar, heady LB to Brothers. But with some injury history.

I think our boards are almost the same.

I also have TJ Green FS
