But I don't have the magnifying glass - just the box. And if you get really close to the screen you can see where it says search.
 
This thing morphs. Maybe you have to believe Search exists Neo. It looks very different on my phone and computer. Either way there is a magnifying glass. On my computer there is a box that coyly says "Search..." Don't know what to tell you.

We are trying to figure this out. Something keeps crashing the server. They are testing to see if it's hardware related or not. I have the server being monitored so once it crashes they normally can get it back up, however when crashes occur the database here has been crashing also, then they have to run a database repair which takes some time.

This whole thing is really annoying me because server crashes not only affect this site, but my company site also.
 
I hope you guys find the cause of the crashes. They seem to occur about every other night around 2 am. I suppose most are not aware of it since you guys are doing a fantastic job of getting them back up before most are awake. These are not to be confused with the normal 5:20 maintenance.

It comes right back up because I now have an around the clock server management company monitoring the site. We made some more tweaks to the server yesterday and since then there have been no more crashes. We still don't know the cause however have just put some more monitoring things in place to find it if it crashes again. If it keeps occurring we are going to move into another box because it's probably hardware related.
 
Here's a comment on the search function: when the advanced search screen is opened, you have a dark blue background with black text, which is nearly impossible to read. You need a light color for the text.

The site crashed and now I am the only member online!!! The zombie apocalypse has begun. Don't worry, I'll finish each of you in the quickest and most humane way possible.

I don't... haven't been redirected to porn site trying to access TexansTalk through Google since we've changed over. Spent weeks with IT scouring my laptop for malware before we realized it was the old forum software.

One thing I preferred about the old site was the borders. It feels like the way this one stretches across the screen kinda washes everything out.

But I think it also helps it look normal on mobile devices. I have no need for TapaTalk anymore because this site is completely readable in a phone browser.

On a computer it is six of one half dozen of the other for me but on a phone the new software is clearly superior.
 
That makes sense. I'm only really on here from my desktop so it never crossed my mind how the appearance would affect other devices.

Other devices? I'm just getting over the upgrade from the 286K PC and my rotary phone. Those flip phones are nice.
 
We are moving the hard drives of this server to another server around midnight tonight. The server that this site is currently on has some hardware issues causing power failures. This is why the site keep crashing for no reason. The crashing has nothing to do with the new software. It's just that when we moved into the box that we are on, that is when we also switched to the new software. I am told it will take about an hour to do this.
 
Meh!!! While the quality the board's technology has gone way up (which I think I contributed to), the quality of posting, or posters has gone WAY down. I guess there is a reason a number of us "old timers" rarely post - if even log on - anymore. Love ya Brother and hope to see you this season at a home game!!!
