Ain’t no way I’m paying trumaine 15m per.Ian Rapoport

The #Jets are expected to sign CB Trumaine Johnson to a deal worth roughly $15M per year, source said.

Be open to trading JD if deal is good.
One of the reasons why the Astros and Rockets GM's are so much better. They don't have any issues spending money on star- superstar players.
Hopefully they land their big fish, Mr. LT Solders.
If deal is good... has to do with financial future and past injury history.I'm baffled at how many fans want to trade Clowney. He's only 25 and on the upswing and is just now entering his prime.
I would trade Watt before I traded Clowney (not that I would trade either). I know that's blasphemy coming from a Houstonian but Watt is coming off yet another major injury and has stated in the past that he plans to retire once he hits the backside of his career.
You obviously don't keep up with the times or CnD. Clowney had his "prime" in college. He's been on borrowed time since his knee injury during his rookie year.I'm baffled at how many fans want to trade Clowney. He's only 25 and on the upswing and is just now entering his prime.

Wait to see what CnD says. Injuries have been an issue with him. I'd be down with a 2 yr, team friendly, deal if the doc is good with it. I wouldn't get into anything resembling a bidding war about it, though.Jordy Nelson has been released. Jump on that Gain.

Rodgers made Nelson.Nelson looked like 30something Wr who has had injuries in the recent enough past...and no I don't want him to mentor younger players

the Tacks threw a crap ton of money at this guy. I'm glad the FO didn't get suckered into that kind of a payday for that guy.
I am too, but **** the Titans that's where my angst comes from.
Naw, you see the Astros tanked and home grew their talent then added key pieces to make a run. The Texans aren't in a place where the Astros are where one piece was the key to making a run. DM of the Rockets has always worked in a mindset of of finding value pieces and not overpaying for any players. The only big mistake Morey has made was Anderson contract and even then, that he managed to put the Rockets in position to eat the that Bullet. The Texans in my opinion has a piece in Watson, it's time to retool first without hurting our cap position first.

No way Fuller is playing with the big boys. How many complete games has he played compared to how many total games he could have? Still don't believe in his hands.Would you guys be fine with paying Fuller 15 million per year? End the FA with Solder and Fuller for a combined 30 million, add Sitton and be done with it. Our secondary with KJ as a safety would be a huge strength all of a sudden and our OL would be more than serviceable. Only questionmarks left would be health, and perhaps HBs and TEs.

Sorry my mistake. Thought you were talking about WRsI haven‘t seen many games by him - which is why I asked the question. But looking at his stats - 16 games last season, 22 PD, 2 INTs, 69 tackles - sounds pretty good to me. He didn‘t miss a game before the 2016 season and he is still pretty young.
Coach maybe, player no way. He should be able to help Texans wr with scramble drill. he always got so wide open when Rodgers extended the playsAhhhh c'mon! I think "Coach Nelson" has a great ring to it...kinda like "Coach Reed"![]()
In fact Colvin has better pff grades than Trumaine or MalcolmWhy? They are paying him shutdown CB money and he has to be locked up with Hopkins 2x/year. We win that battle.
I hear you but Watt will not have the financial component that Clowney will. Not really sure what you could get for Watt? Maybe a fifth or sixth? Clowney maybe a first plus third or fourth?I'm baffled at how many fans want to trade Clowney. He's only 25 and on the upswing and is just now entering his prime.

He also wasn't covering the wr1 and was surrounded by much better talent. That may skew his numbers a little but hell if I know I didn't really watch him play honestly. In fact Colvin has better pff grades than Trumaine or Malcolm

Remember in all this excitement, that just a little while ago this was a guy that was contemplating retirement. No way he won't get offered at least 75 Million - that would be 15 Million per year. I could easily see him getting more than that. The question is: does he want to leave NE and is he willing to come to Houston.
Take Butler off the table...........he will be going back to his old Patriots buddy Vrabel. If we are still looking at CB's this is the order of my preference.
1. Fuller
2. Gaines
3. Trumaine (Jets)
4. Butler (Titans)
Someone asked if Fuller would be worth 15 per year, I would definitely consider it.
The Astros did not tank, they were that bad. But in the past three to four years they have been aggressive. Going after Verlander was huge.
Moray spent money on the limes of Jeremy Lin, Dwight Howard, and several other players.
Now given Brock that contract was a reach.
Now that we have the money, go out and get what you need. Look at how aggressive both the Titans and Jaguars are now. Those clubs wants to win and win now.
Lewis to titans and solder to browns? Yeah this so sucks ...
So if you already knew they were going to completely screw up starting tomorrow, why complain today? You should have been complaining two months ago about how the Texans screwed up free agency in 2018. By now you should be crying about the train wreck of 2019 free agency and the dumpster fires of 2020 through 2099 free agency. Better yet, just move on to a Patriots or Browns message board. The Texans have ALWAYS been a day late and a dollar short when it comes to free agency. Remember in the early years when we thought they’d go after Orlando Pace when he was a FA to protect Carr. They were nowhere to be found. The only offseason the Texans have EVER made good FA moves was in 2011 when Wade Phillips went and got JJo and Manning. Again, those moves were made by Wade and not Tricky Rick who was a disaster in signing FAs.

It's not prison. If a guy from Florida wants to sign with a team in Florida you can't force him to sign with you (other than the franchise tag). But we get it. You hate every player on this team from the Rick Smith era, and you are going to hate every player from the Brian Gaine era.I’d kill to have Ramsey or Bouye on this team. I was screaming my head off last off-season when we let AJ walk. Bouye is exactly the type of ascending player that a smart GM signs to a big deal. Instead Tricky Rick let him walk. History will show Rick was the worst GM in NFL history who kept his job as long as he did.

Maybe we should have a Patriots forum for all the Texans haters here with "tex" in their username.I can see you're still having a hard time playing with others.
Why dont you just leave, instead of trying to tell others what they should be doing.
Fact is if Ricky wanted Bouye here, he would be here.
