Which off-season moves would you like the Texans to make? (Roster/FA)

I've stated this before, with a qb like Watson, the inside 3 is more important than the tackles. I'm not saying get turnstiles ,but with Watson, teams are gonna always contain rush him. So the tackles just need to make sure they don't get beat inside. If a de speed rush outside the tackles ,it creates a lane for Watson to step up and take off or step up to make a play. So if the Texans can solidify the inside triangle Watson will be better than alright . Looking at the prices for ol help, it would've been alot cheaper to keep Brown.
That's only true if Watson learns to lessen his tendencies to take off out of the pocket.

Take that Jags!

Whatever we can do to weaken the Jags defense as they seem to be top dog of the division these days.

This is the arms race. We dont pick up 3 lineman in FA then is a failed FA...... were behind baby! Make is happen Gaine

Clark starts at LT and Davenport does not pan out, then yeah season probably over cause we need 3 more linemen after we sign Solder......

we sign 3 linemen and draft 3 more linemen. Heck yeah! QB play and Line play is the the new NFL.

Clark started out of necessity for this team last year due to DB's issues and injuries along the o-line. And after last year's fiasco with Clark & the o-line in general, There's no way in hell Gaine nor BoB are seriously considering going into the season with just Clark or Davenport vying for the starting spot at LT. SOMEONE else will be brought in to be the day 1 starter & i wouldn't be surprised if they penciled in a rookie from the draft there. There are several guys from the draft that could slip or we could move up to get that would be instant upgrades over Clark. Orlando Brown is regarded as a 1st round prospect, but he didn't test well at the combine...Most if not all mocks have him going in the middle of the 2nd round already but depending on how the draft unfolds, he could possibly slip a little further down.... far enough down in the 2nd for us to move up from our position early 3rd to snag him. There are also other guys we could get sitting right where we are now that i would feel more confidence in than Clark.

Whatever winds up happening via FA or the draft, i'm fairly confident Clark will not be the guy that gets the nod in 2019.

The fact that EJ Gaines hasn't been linked to any team seems like a positive sign. *knock on wood*

Things were quiet about Colvin and then it dropped that we had agreed on a contract.

You never know at this point. We were reportedly on the short list of teams that were likely to sign Butler and Lewis...& then Tennessee swooped in and signed them both & they weren't mentioned as serious contenders at all.

The #Texans are expected to sign interior OL Zach Fulton, formerly of the #Chiefs, to a deal that averages roughly $7.5M per year, source said.

I'm not going to be so quick to declare this offseason a bust. Let's think for a moment about where Solder's head is at. His boy is sick. From what I have gathered, he's terminally sick. Any day now Nate Solder's life could change with the loss of his son. Perhaps the Giants give him a great offer, not as good as our offer, but it keeps Solder closer to the rest of the family. I'm not trying to be a downer, but would you want a guy that is only 50% here and trying to do his job? I'd prefer someone who doesn't have that kind of thing hanging over him. Call me callus or whatever. Just trying to think realistically.

Giants expected to land former Patriots’ LT Nate Solder, as @RapSheet said. Creates a left tackle hole in New England and leaves one in Houston.

Nate Solder is going to be the new highest-paid left tackle in the league with this deal from the Giants. Waiting on exact numbers.

Called it..... only a few hours from declare Gaine a Rick Smith 2.0 , and this off-season disappointing
Missing out on Solder sucks. Wouldn't have been an issue had they jut extended Brown. Huge fail across the organization.

The issue here is not, not signing solder, but placing your organization in a spot where missing on a single player SEEMS to be a failure.

This contract is going to be nuts.

That's at the lower end of what I would have expected (and I thought he would be given 5 years). This really sucks. There is no plan b. Go out and get Gaines or Fuller now - I wouldn't want to trade away the house to move up to the first round to select a tackle. Either try to trade for a Veteran, or go with Davenport/Lamm - I don't see any other viable Option.

The Giants are about to break the bank for this guy & he was just slightly above average. I'd rather us not overpay than to overpay & be looking crazy in a few years when he falls off. My fortunes for this team didn't hinge on them signing Solder. Clark & co. were so bad, it would be hard for us not to upgrade with anyone else.

Guess Texans will go after Cameron Fleming now?

I’d like to see them offer Kyle Fuller the Trumaine Johnson money. He’s a better player and a legit #1 CB. We have the room to spend that $ since Solder wont be coming here... might as well make a splash somewhere to improve this team!

WE got more than enough money to offer Kyle Fuller now and get a solid tackle.

The Texans are going to start the season without an experienced LT. That they would've needed to overpay is due to their mismanagement. From an accounting point of view, this may look good. From a football perspective, this sucks. Is the Texans objective to win the battle of the spreadsheets or football games? There's no positive spin for this.

Here are a few guys still available:

Secondary
Kyle Fuller
E.J. Gaines
Tre Boston
Kenny Vaccaro
Rashaan Melvin

OL
Josh Sitton
Justin Pugh
Cameron Fleming
Jack Mewhort

I like the idea of throwing "stupid Money" at Fuller. Make the Bears think Long and hard about it. We won't be able to spend most of our moeny anyways and getting a great, Young CB will give us security in the secondary for years to come. Problem with the "solid tackle" remark: there aren't any left.

Agreed on lack of solid LT remark...

Might as well front load a Fuller contract making it as difficult as possible for Bears to match. Lets turn a weakness into a strength this offseason!

Yea unfortunately none are Left, but looking like we are just going to have to roll with Davenport I HOPE he's been putting in work this off-season.

Fleming best of the JAG players at this point. Upgrade at swing tackle. May as well. Along with another CB and Tre Boston at safety if they can swing it... which they should.

Yeah, Fleming could be had for cheap. I'm hoping for either Gaines/Fuller and Boston. 1 corner and 1 safety.
