Which off-season moves would you like the Texans to make? (Roster/FA)

For those upset, just remember, free agency hasn't even started yet.

Exactly. Guys in here already condemning the off-season a failure b/c we haven’t been linked to any of these coveted FA signings.

Like I said with the qb thing. I’d rather they take their time then rush to overpay someone.

The Bengals gave up the equivalence of a mid second-round pick (this years Draft) for a banged-up Cordy Glenn.
Now Solder is by all reports in good, excellent condidtion so just goes to show what a player (and his agent) with leverage can demand from interested parties . OK if you are also a left tackle with leverage in free agency then you really got 'em by the ying-yang, good chance you can then get 'em to pay you QB money.

I'd rather spend more money on the offensive line than spend anything substantial on a running back. Running backs can be found in the draft, get some guys that can protect your franchise QB. Seriously, I don't know if I can take any more non-Watson QBs in an O'Brien Texans offense.

Yeah, I remember the old days when your entire off-season wasn't declared a failure until the first day of free agency...

The Texans have ALWAYS been a day late and a dollar short when it comes to free agency. Remember in the early years when we thought they’d go after Orlando Pace when he was a FA to protect Carr. They were nowhere to be found. The only offseason the Texans have EVER made good FA moves was in 2011 when Wade Phillips went and got JJo and Manning. Again, those moves were made by Wade and not Tricky Rick who was a disaster in signing FAs.

The Texans don’t deserve anyone’s benefit of the doubt. Don’t be an apologist for a garbage, clueless organization.

Actually they went after Pace hard. Link
They didn’t land him. That’s my point. They like to say they were in the mix but this is a results oriented business. It’s like me saying I talked to a bunch of girls at the bar, what matters is if I take them home and have my way with them in bed.

I don't know much about this guy but if he comes at a cheaper rate than Trumaine or Malcom and he's not a dirty ***** like Jacksoffville's secondary players are known to be, then I'm good.

The result a team should care about is winning football games not winning or losing a single player. At the end of the day, acting like all is lost because _____ does not sign with a team is at best naive. The top of the free agent market is controlled by the player. Once a dude knows he is going to get his money from one of several sources, none of us know really why he picks and choose one situation over another.

Solder is going to be one the harder reads. he has made money, won titles, and has a special family situation. Good luck reading what motivates him the most. I doubt it is just the biggest paycheck alone.

Solder and Butler would make it pretty awesome. I'd be ok with the Texans taking a look at what TJ Carrie (CB- LVR) would cost to add to this lineup. This move would possibly leave more than enough crazy money to throw at Solder and a RT like, Smith (CIN), Hubbard (PIT) or Fleming (NE).

I wonder how Beli would react if the Texans managed to sign both of his starting OT's?

LT- Solder
LG- Allen
OC- Fulton
RG- Mancz or Martin
RT- Fleming

OT- Davenport
OT- Henderson (FA)
G/C- Fuller
C/G- Martin or Mancz

DP- OT / Noteboom (TCU)
DP- OG / Gossett (Appalachian St)

UDFA- OT / Bentley Spain (NC)

That would be a solid lineup with some real talent on the depth chart and PS.

I’d kill to have Ramsey or Bouye on this team. I was screaming my head off last off-season when we let AJ walk. Bouye is exactly the type of ascending player that a smart GM signs to a big deal. Instead Tricky Rick let him walk. History will show Rick was the worst GM in NFL history who kept his job as long as he did.

It can be done.

McNair/Gaine just have to be willing to do what it takes to protect Watson.

After watching teams making huge moves, the Fulton/Colvin signings are a little underwhelming.

Only issue with Henderson is he’s already been suspended twice for marijuana which he says he used for crohn’s disease. Also caused him to slip in the draft. Next suspension is a season.

Absolutely love this signing.

Now sign Solder and I will consider this the start of taking care of Watson. This signing means the Texans wont be left out in the cold if Solder signs elsewhere.

Smart planning, unlike last offseason.

I think they are preparing to leave Solder or at least have insurance . Nate wants to stay in NE but is waiting on something like the Browns .
