Actually, according to over the cap his cap hit if traded would only be 14 mil, Dallas would take a cap hit for the remaining 11M, not to mention, there are some easy cuts (not including JJO and Cushing), Weeden, Newton, Bergstron, Clark that are worth around 11 mil, plus consider the fact that since the Texans have 54 players under contract, for each player signed a player from the bottom is removed from the calculation roughly ~500k per signing. Essentially they can trade for Romo, sign Bouye, draft picks and still add a few other pieces while keeping Cush and JJo. Salary cap wont prevent them from making moves short of landing multiple higher end free agents.
I honestly think we should make a run at Romo for a mid round pick conditional to a higher pick based on his availability. When he plays and that is a big IF, he is a notch below the elite guys, but look at his last few healthy seasons, very good TD/INT ratios. He is by far the best option if we can get him. Cutler would be the next option his cap hit for us would be 12M, as much as he is bad he is still worlds better than brock, he can at least put up yards with INT's. Also we should draft a guy in the first three rounds and focus on decision making and accuracy.
All this Brock should have had 4 td's, but he consistently couldn't convert 3rd and manageable all game. There is a reason he can't throw for 200 yds like every qb damn near to ever play the game. Teams learned quick that he is terrible against a zone, he has a long delivery and stares down his man, that is why it always seems like there are 4 guys around the receiver. Honestly Hoyer is a better option than him. Pretty much any guy with a pulse, and yes while he could have had 4 td's he showed throughout the season that he isn't able to consistently move the ball and it all comes back to the things that won't change, his delivery is slow, he stares down his man, and he isn't accurate.
