What is Watson's value in a trade?

You assume talk is fact. As far as I can tell Caserio hasn’t answered one single question he’s been asked since he’s been here. So whatever “talk” there is would seem to be nothing but media speculation, pretty much no different than what goes on here.
Okay--what fact is there that Watson will not be traded before criminal is resolved?

Anyway I'm off to the pool.

Then why all the talk about Texans 'now being interested in trading Watson"? The NFL message about no restrictions and DW not being placed on CEL to me and others (all those saying he looks to be tradeable now) is a possible indicator that he will be traded before criminal resolved.
They’ve been speculating on that front since day 1. That’s their job but as you can see they’ve been wrong. No way any team will take that gamble. They have to see how that thing is going to go first before making any type of trade commitment.

Watson’s best choice might be to suit up and get himself on the field versus spending an entire season on the sideline. So far, each and every choice he’s made has been wrong….hope he pulls his head out of his arse and realizes this move may be the only one he has left for 2021.

If Watson were to decide to suit up for the 2021 season -and the NFL allows him- versus sitting out, the Texans would have their strongest QB room since becoming a franchise. Watson, Taylor, and Mills would give the offense some reasonable hope of being much better than they were in 2020.

Does Watson have the common sense acumen to make the right decision? Based on his history, not likely which means Watson will be sitting around wondering what’s happening to his world. This is exactly what happens when HSFB and CFB coddle and pamper these players like they’re gods…..they become full of stupid and ignorance.

Like I mentioned before, just want to see this mess find a solution for 2021.

Spot on Opt. Dude is stubborn as heck bro. He’s stuck on trying to prove his innocence but no darn well he was wrong for what he did. Then this crap about being mad at Cal for not keeping him informed on the GM and HC hiring. I’m like you didn’t inform them on the crap you were doing off the field. That way they could be prepared for what’s about to happen or attempt to help you out of this sticky situation. Dude actually have people looking at this organization side eyed.
I’m with you , can’t wait for this crap is over with.

If Watson was one of those guys that wanted to be great... yeah. Probably so.

But he's not acting like that kind of guy. He's acting like one of those, "pay me first." Guys, & they don't mind sitting on the sideline if they already got paid, which he has.

Funny. It starts with, “Texans worst franchise ever.” Then the follow up stories...

Same old news. Execs not in trade discussions say there is more chatter about a trade. Mentioned Miami and Carolina. Made it sound like the Texans won’t get what they want regarding picks. Did warn of the serious allegations he faces and the repercussions for any team that trades for him due to the seriousness of the allegations.

As noted earlier this morning, decision time is coming for the Texans and quarterback Deshaun Watson. The options are few. The one that has seemed the least likely in recent weeks could be the one that happens.
Multiple executives from teams not directly involved in the discussions tell PFT that there’s mounting chatter that Watson will be traded in the coming days.
The two finalists are believed to be the Panthers and the Dolphins. (The Broncos and Eagles also had been linked to Watson.) If it happens, it would turn things upside down for whichever team gets Watson.
It’s hard to imagine a team giving the Texans what they’ve wanted for Watson — three first-round picks and more. So either the Texans are taking what they can get (if a trade happens) or the Texans will accept a package tied to the number of games Watson plays over the next two or three seasons.
Between Miami and Carolina, the Panthers make more sense. Owner David Tepper has made no secret of his desire for a franchise quarterback. Sam Darnold could still become one. Watson already is. And Tepper, who once kept a set of brass balls in his office, seems willing to roll the dice, despite the lingering uncertainty surrounding Watson.
It needs to be remembered in every Watson story or discussion that he’s facing serious accusations. Those accusations could become adverse verdicts in up to 22 civil cases or a conviction on up to 10 criminal complaints. Any team that trades for Watson assumes the risk that Watson won’t be available to play — and they’ll also face very real questions about the willingness to bring to town someone who has been involved in such alleged misbehavior.

The Houston Texans might be nearing a trade revolving around quarterback Deshaun Watson. After an offseason centered around Watson’s future in Houston, the situation could be nearing its end, according to Yahoo NFL reporter Charles Robinson. The Miami Dolphins, despite having a young quarterback in Tua Tagovailoa, appear to be emerging as a frontrunner.
“Sources tell Yahoo Sports the Dolphins have emerged as the frontrunner in trade discussions with the Texans for QB Deshaun Watson,” Robinson said. “The Texans are seeking 3 first-round picks and 2 second-round picks in negotiations, according to a team that dropped out of trade talks.”

In light of Watson’s offseason accusations of sexual assault, teams are looking for some sort of protections in potential trades, Robinson said.
“Sources said teams have angled for pick protections in any trade, to mitigate a potential NFL suspension or criminal prosecution tied to ongoing investigations by the FBY, Harris County prosecutor and Houston PD, into sexual assault allegations from multiple women,” Robinson tweeted.

Those QBs will be gone in a heart beat if Watson is on any of those teams. I am leaning towards a trade happening with huge package similar to what we've heard Texans want with some restrictions on any games DW misses due to legalities.

Why would they waste a trade for Minshew then? Roundabout way to get DW.

? a 6th that might increase to a 5th? Nah, our guy has been trading players and low round picks like my laxative thru me. Minshew, Darnold, Jones, Lock, Tua, Hurt, Bridgewater are not in same atmosphere as Watson. Those teams are hoping to catch lightning and I cannot fault them.
Eagles looking bad in preseason. They need a QB bad. since they’ve been connected in trade talks my point is why Minshew? If he is stopgap seems they don’t expect DW to be traded soon Because if anything he might be at his cheapest now.

best player available in attempt to catch lightning? I don't think he is stop gap perhaps battle Hurts for backup if Watson comes aboard. Eagles is not the team I want to trade for DW. I prefer Lions.

Of course they’re not. They don’t have 22 sexual assault cases over there head.

Is it possible that Goodell tries to purposely force the Texans into a trade where the Texans don’t get compensated? Like to Miami that will boost ratings?

Just thinking of a new way the Texans can get screwed.

I think possible Roger could "guide" a trade to push it but not necessarily to hurt Texans. Example Miami offers Xavien Howard corner, Jevon Holland safety, Jalen Waddell WR and Jaelin Phillips OLB, Curtis Weaver LB and 2022 round one from Denver.

Why would you care if it's the Eagles or the Lions, both NFC ?
Would somebody be crazy enough to offer up, oh say a single first and single second for Watson ?
Oh you say it's way below the Texans asking price of 3 firsts and 2 twos, well I say it's not a sellers market right now if you are the team trying to unload DW4. Keep an eye on the Panthers owner, because David Tepper is a wheeler & dealer.

So…is Watson going to start for the Texans? Will he hold out? Or will he be put on the exempt list? I feel like those are the 3 most realistic opinions. The only 3 options.

I don't understand why the Texans won't make him play. All the legal stuff is up in the air, so they can't trade him. The only leverage they have over him is the contract. Either play or sit out. And if you want to be traded, wave the no trade, so we can get fair value. Or get your ass on the field.

I care because if he is traded I want the best deal for him. Is that hard to understand? You think it would be crazy for a team to offer up a first and a second and I think you're crazy for thinking that. Let's just wait and see. I think it's fun to discuss these things. You criticize me for making suggestions about possible trades and then you offer up that North Carolina's owner could make such a deal.

In these times I think it's very unlikely that somebody makes a bid for DW4 with so much uncertainty about his future, but in the event a deal-maker & risk taker like David Tepper steps up with a low-ball offer to the McNair family I say, just remember the old cliche "a bird in the hand is worth two ........".

random dude on twitter says it , it has to be true ....

Watson aint goin anywhere until he's cleared of all criminal charges.
To be fair, there are more than just random dudes on Twitter. Robinson is a NFL reporter for Yahoo Sports and here is Drew Rosenhaus saying the same thing.

Still. Until it happens it hasn't happened.

They may be miles apart on compensation (& they should be). & if they are as far apart as they should be, it's just like they aren't talking at all.

Because he's rightfully been excommunicated from the Texans org. He says he doesn't want to play for the Texans anymore. Guess what? The Texans dont want him representing their franchise anymore. I dont want him representing the city of Houston either.

All it takes is for those NFL teams mentioned by the internet as interested in Watson is to come out and say there is no interested in Watson due to his legal issues. I guess all this is advertisement is keeping teams names in front of the public.

The best deal seems to be all you think of when you think of this guy.

Some could care less what the Texans get in a trade and want justice to be served. Like you said let justice be served then lets start talking about trading him.

Not long ago in response to your question again I laid out my position on Watson. Not going to do it again. I do not wait until my pantry is empty before I start looking at offers to fill it.

You are correct in that some want Watson punished before he is found guilty of anything. You think not only that people should think as you do but you belittle them if they don't. You have been told that by many over the years.

Justice can be served once it is known what that is. A trade can be done before that is known then accomplished.
