I agree with you. Last season was a b**ch due to Covid. I am not saying there should be an asterisk in regards to how the season turned out but a normal season may have helped. Also we had a much tougher schedule last season than we had in a long time. Our defense most likely would suck no matter what but just the same I think a normal season would have helped some. I feel we can improve without the need for a rebuild. I do not think things are as bad for our team as many make them out to be. Even without DW4 I think a better season is very possible and our team will compete and not simply be doormats.

Also as much as we dislike the way BO'b ran the team and managed it I do think he was a decent head coach. Not great but not the worst either. He deserved to be fired based on how the team seemed to respond to him early last season and for his boneheaded trades. It was obvious BO'b lost the team and once JJ Watt called him out he was no longer good for the team. Somewhere along the way the team lost respect for him.

To get back on topic I hope DW4 is found innocent if for no other reason than to see to it that we get the optimum return on trading him.

Most mocks I review have them taking Pennei Sewell at number five. I would like to get more for LT but $10 million savings cannot be ignored.

The Chiefs would be a strong candidate for Tunsil if NC wants to deal because they lost their starting LT Eric Fischer for the year, and
the Chiefs also just lost out on the bidding for Trent Williams as he decided to sign an extension to remain with the 49ers.
They are drafting @ 31, more would be needed in a Tunsil trade with the Texans.

Why does Cincy need a LT?

Could be because poor LT play helped Burrow tear his knee up. You want that fate for the drafted new QB? For me this is a pass.

It's interesting, no really fascinating to try to handicap what DW4 would bring in a trade right now ? Right now !
Few days ago more than one team would probably have given up three firsts plus but given the tremendous uncertainty and risk with the situation right now, wonder if there a gambler out there who would take a shot now for significantly less consideration, and how desperate would Casserio be to unload DW4 or would he
prefer to take his chances on DW4 somehow getting cleared or escaping major damage and waiting for the 2021-22 offseason when
there's a chance of some kind of normalcy being restored.

If you dont get what you want for DW4 you hold onto him and draft your QB in the 2022 draft. Hopefully they can still trade him before the draft. I see Lurie/Tepper as these type of gamblers.

HOU has no choice. They have to get a QB and Tunsil is 66 MIL wasted. Yeah, I don’t like the idea of not having a pro bowl level LT but this hole has been dug and Caserio has to dig his way out.
I would be open to tradingTunsil to KC but i don’t know if they can afford it. I would expect more than just 31. I think a 3rd would need to be part of that deal too.
That could help Caserio wheel and deal his way up the board.

I agree with the trade later of Watson. But they need to address QB in the draft. There’s no reason to keep a 66 MIL LT on the team. He’s a total waste. I know hes good, and I get the importance of LT, but he’s HOU best trade piece to rebuild.
And yeah, Watson has managed to really F his team.

You're going to have history repeating itself.

Young QB that's not well protected. I might be gun shy after seeing Carr and the DW4 early yrs and the beatings they took.

I think it's to early to tell right now. They still may be able to get talent trading DW4 before the draft. But I generally agree with you.

I know. I get it. LT is extremely important. Tyrod would be starting. The new QB could sit and learn from him.
Villanueva and Peters are still available. Caserio could draft another the following year.
If they can get a high 1st for Watson, I think you have to do it right now. Who knows what else this guy is doing that they don’t know.

Who’s pushing a panic button? There’s no panic. There’s just no realistic high expectations. They won 4 games with Watson ballin’ his ass off, Tunsil and Watt. Now it’s Tyrod Taylor, Tunsil and........Shaq Lawson? A bunch of special teamers?

The panic button was broken when they elevated O’Brien after 51-7. It was shattered into a million pieces when they gave away Hopkins for nothing. Panic would also mean there was some level of excitement or high expectations. There isn’t any of that with this team right now.

Ain’t nobody panicking.

David Tepper is 63 years old and reportedly worth 15 B and he's made his fortune in the market so this is a man who's not only extremely wealthy and also probably extremely confidant of himself. And he got rich taking some chances, so this is a a man who knows how to
evaluate risk.
Would the Panthers fork over their first round pick for Watson and would NC/Mcnairs settle for that ? I dunno what say you ?
BTW that's the 8th overall.

Of course no one really knows. WTF? You can use the information available though, and formulate a realistic outcome. Doesn’t mean it will come to pass, sure. Several teams have gone from 4 win seasons to the SB. But they actually made needle moving moves to do so. The Texans, not so much. This team is still nothing but a bunch of backups and will likely be going with a QB that’s a much lesser version of Watson. I don’t have the hope that it appears you do. I just don’t see it in the team.
 
In Laremy Tunsil's 2 seasons with the Texans......I have yet to see the player that OB prized so much that he justified trading away 2 drafts worth of prime draft assets to obtain his services. To pile on in regards to this move, he failed to have Tunsil under a new contract agreement before consummating the deal. After OB rewarded Tunsil with ALL the leverage.....Tunsil and his agent got OB and the Texans FO to agree on making him the highest paid OL in the game. Again, Tunsil has yet to live up to the picks lost and the money given. OB has no idea that the Tunsil trade set this team back just like drafting a "bust" QB in RD1 before the rookie cap was implemented.

I think this season is the time to get Tunsil out of Houston, lick the wounds, and find a replacement in the draft. The Texans will never find anyone as gulliable as OB in which to fleece via a trade of Tunsil so the Texans should lower their expectations......get what you can and ditch the contract. I think it would be safe to assume that Tunsil would return a RD1 this season and maybe a decent pick in 2022. It's a shame that Caserio is stuck cleaning this mess of ineptitude but he was aware of the mess he was inheriting and is going about the business of cleaning it up.

On a side note, the Texans could very well decide to hold onto Tunsil for the 2021 season since there's essentially a +-14M difference between trading him this season versus the 2022. I think Tunsil's trade value is this off-season.....he's healthy at the moment, no since in gambling with the 2022 season.

Nobody does. This is a fustercluck in the midst of a rebuild.
Caserio needs to optimize the few assets he has left and find a way to get into the 1st.

I don’t believe that’s necessarily true.

I think the Texans need to be looking for a QB, but it’s not imperative they get one in this draft. Or next.

Granted, if they feel there is a can’t miss guy in this draft, then by all means move Heaven & earth to get him.

But if we’re looking at Matthew Staffords or Phillip Rivers, eh. Ride with TT. Pretty much, hopefully our Alex Smith until we find the next Patrick Mahomes. But our team is nowhere close to the team Mahomes walked into.

I think it safe to say Watson isn’t playing another game for HOU and it now has absolutely nothing to do with what Watson has said or wants.
I also think this whole “masseur” situation was probably brought to light purposely by a team that had knowledge of Watsons personal life and that he was being careless with his “massages” and are looking to trade for Watson but want to drive down his price.

HOU would have to incur a lot of dead cap coming back the other way to make that happen. A lot.
Hayward, Allen, Joseph and Bulaga all coming to HOU with Herbert. But those players could all be dumped or traded at years end.
If it gets them Herbert it’s all worth it.

How did the team find out about Watson's personal life? Did they pay easterby for the information? Did they hack Deshaun's Instagram or more likely his mobile device?

If one team did that, could not other teams just offer a bit more and not gamble that Goodell would go after the team doing all that?

So. LAC increases cap gets a 2x pro Bowl left tackle, 1100 yard WR and a top 3-5 Q B but probably wouldn't do it..

Well run front offices of teams know everything about all the players. They pay to have this info. And they pay well.
And it’s not just the NFL.
They also have entire networks for having these requests taken care of professionally and quietly. Whatever you want can be had without any problems but if your a lazy, arrogant, idiot this is what happens.
I’m betting that a team or teams who want to trade for him, already knew about this since he was clearly very stupid in not keeping it low profile and started this process a few weeks ago when they got nowhere with their proposals.
And there’s no way it can traced back to them.
In the end, it might get him out of town, but it also might hurt him cause it’s clearly spun out of control. I also bet the team that initiated this didn’t realize how dumb he was being with this set up.

I honestly don’t know. Yeah, it’s a good deal for them. And I think LAC could incur the hit on Watsons image. It is LA after all. It’s an extremely fair weather city for sports teams.
That would make them SB favorites overnight. Even in the AFC West.
That team is already good.

They can incur the hit on Watson's image but as a team setup to win right now with the right QB, I'm not sure they world want to take on a QB that might be suspended for significant time this season.

I like the Bengals and the Cowboys draft positions and would jump at the chance to move him to either team. Chargers would be an interesting option, which would you do?
1. 2021 RD1-13 / 2022 RD2

2. DE- Joey Bosa / 2022 RD3 (Do they give him #99?)

Dallas line getting huge $ except LG 24 YOA and last contract year. Think they use 1.10 for defense.

Bro, your not getting Bosa. You really are optimistic. That’s just not an option. He is as valuable to their team as Watson would be and is simply off the table. They would never allow it.
HOU is rebuilding. I could see Herbert, Hayward, Allen and Joseph along with 13 and 47. That’s it. All of those players are high dead cap coming back and would be made available to playoff teams come trade deadline time for more draft picks the following year. The idea is to flip them.
Except for Herbert of course. He’s the whole reason to even make the trade.
