That would require them recognizing a blitz and running hot routes, but we can always dream.

I honestly thought he was trying to throw it away. I didn't think Nico was going to be able to go up & get it.

Great play... Cj & Nico.


But... & I'm not picking on the kid. Watch AR15 run then come back & watch what Stroud did on the play before the TD. You can tell that running is not part of his game. I don't know why he looked like he did vs Georgia. He looked natural in that game. But so far it looks like he's uncomfortable outside the pocket.

He's athletic enough, he should get better over time. But it's not looking good yet.

I thought it was a toss up pass too, but I'm happy with the result. As for the rest, 2 QBs with different strengths/weaknesses. AR15 is big and can run so he's going to be more proficient running since he's a dual threat QB. Stroud is a pocket QB who has the ability to rollout but is not going to be as effective as a runner. I've seen defense linemen run down Stroud, I can only imagine how fast LBs and DBs would close on him.

Stroud at least read the blitz, bad pass on his part. That's consecutive passes where he didn't put enough on it.

I understand the difference.

Still, pocket is going to break down & Stroud needs to be decisive about what he's going to do. He doesn't have the plus athleticism or size that Richardson has. He's got to make up his mind, go get what he's going to get, or buy time & throw it away.
