Texans random thought of the day

Watch the game, don't look at the stats
I do both. I'm curious if you watched the 2020 Superbowl where the Chiefs got 11 penalties for 120 yards when everybody was saying it was fixed against the Chiefs for the Buccaneers & Brady? Is that one of the 3 Superbowls you keep mentioning where they did not get any holding penalties? You know the one they lost 31-9..

I'm just curious of the dynamic here. People seem supportive of the Chiefs. Genuine question. Did many of you root for KC while Houston didn't have a team? Because this is literally one of two forums defending KC, and the other one is KC's forum itself

How did this make you feel?
I take it that's from a game with the Texans ?

Don’t get confused that 1-3 people make a board opinion.

Screw the Chiefs, Kermit the QB, Kelce, Reid, Swifties, and anyone else in the way of the Texans.

I don't like the Chiefs, Ravens or Patriots. I just don't believe in the Swift/Chiefs conspiracy. It seems like anytime the Texans get into the playoffs either the Chiefs, Ravens or Patriots knock us out. Usually in the most humiliating way possible.

2011 Ravens
2012 Patriots
2015 Chiefs
2016 Patriots
2018 Colts
2019 Chiefs
2023 Ravens

This is your year my friend

I'm always conflicted when my two teams play each other.

Your confliction is wanting to be on winning the side.

To me that is the definition of a band-wagon fan. Getting on when they are winning and not having faith in the team in the loses.

Even “We Dem Boyz” are more of a fan. Week to week and year to year being embarrassed only to think they are going to the Super Bowl.

I wish more Texans fans were like that. Not the annoying part. But having the faith the team can win. Instead it seems like Texans fans always want to make excuses of why they win. The classic “we won and put up 40 points to their 20 but got lucky because…”

It’s time to be excited and a fanatic about this team. Instead of having that back up team that has proven they win. Especially when the refs are on their side.

IMHO.

Do you currently live in the Houston area and/or are you from this area ?
So if you didn't know FYI many, many people from Missouri and other Midwestern states
have found their way down here over the last few decades, and lots of Missourians were Chiefs fans before they arrived in Houston.

I guess the one that was most embarrassing was 2019 when the Chiefs came back from a 24-0 hole to beat the Texans 51-31. At the time it was the biggest comeback in the Chiefs history.

That’s why I put an emphasis on critical moments of the game. And Steel was saying offensive holding by their linemen.

Many people rely on conspiracy theores about a contest or event being rigged or fixed to cope with their disappointment of a defeat or unwanted outcome.

The forum ain't defending crap. This is a debate with arguments on both sides. For & against refs cheating in false or of KC.

I can understand being a fan of two teams.... an AFC team & an NFC team. Two AFC teams, I don't understand.

Still, I wouldn't go so far as to basically call that person a bandwagon jumper. We have no idea what his motivation is & the Texans haven't really garnered a bandwagon for anyone but diehard Houston football fans.

I defend logic. And the notion that the league tells its part-time officials to be partisan for the Chiefs defies logic.

But carry on with the conspiracy theories.

Ok so twice in the past decade, and none in the past 5 years

Yeah, like I said, I was just offering a small correction. Two times is not no times. And those two times were pretty deep wounds for those of us who were rooting for and excited for those teams. I mean, I've got KC shaped scars.

Article has us losing to all the tough remaining opponents on the schedule: Packers, Lions, Chiefs, Ravens. I say 2-2 at worst in these 4 games

He did that to us, he could have done it to others, not sure that’s our game.

Pissed me off!
But anyway that sure looked like a much younger and more athletic version of the current
version of the Travis Kelcy we see these days.

Well hey!! There's Lucky! Such a good person and such very well thought out responses...... I'm glad the Mods here don't accept personal insults. Oh, wait...

Oh I've got no doubt games over the years were fixed for Brady. He was the face of the NFL. Mahomes is the new face of the NFL. Follow the money

Who recently has had any contact with Hookem Horns ?
I sent him a PM a week ago to see if he got thru the 'Canes down his way OK, and
I also asked him if the address in Indian Shores, Fla was still good for mailing contributions
to operate the website ?
Anyway I've heard nothing from him ? Hope he's OK !

Will the Texans be a candidate to bolster the roster before this year's trade deadline? I'm not listing current players on the team as a resource since it's an unknown as to whom it could be.

Current OTC cap space - $6,265,274
Current Spotrac cap space - $7,017,108
2025 draft picks (rounds) - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, conditional 6th (Akers trade)

Edited for Akers trade
They have a 6th after the Akers trade. They lost 7th
The Cam Akers pick swap is conditional and it's for 2026 picks, not 2025.

Won't affect this next draft whether the conditions are met or not.

The more eyes on the NFL the better.

Revenue sharing
OK. So you're telling me that the other 31 teams are fine with the Chiefs getting preferential treatment because that will make their franchises worth more than if their own team does well? Did Hannah sign off on this?

The NFL TV contract is done. The bulk of the contract expires in 2033. So the number of "eyes" on the NFL doesn't effect how much $$$ the teams get. That hay is in the barn. Taylor Swift brings in big ratings? Good for the networks. Doesn't have a thing to do with the NFL owners' pocketbooks. They make the same as if there was a Cleveland/Carolina Super Bowl.

There are zero reasons that the "NFL" would want to influence games or give preferential treatment to a specific team. None. Nada. Zilch. Any speculation that the NFL would do so is absurd at an astronomical level. Those are the facts. But I can't stop anyone from wanting to see the world in fantasy mode.

Games where fixed for Brady, and now they are fixed for Mahomes. The NFL likes their hero's. Maybe we get lucky someday and Stroud becomes the NFLs next hero and we get the preferential treatment.

To think the Chiefs are winning these games without the refs assistance is laughable.

I don't expect you to agree with me.

The results speak for themselves.

Same way with the NBA, or the WWF
