Texans random thought of the day

Why? You'd get a lot more juice out of LA, or a NY team. There's zero reason to push some smallish market midwestern team. It's complete and utter bullshit. Just like it was complete and utter bullshit when the Patriots were the darlings for over a decade.

Breaking news - damn good coaches with damn good players do damn well year after year. That's your conspiracy. The rest of it is nonsense.
Not one holding call in 3 SB's.

Look at the Bengals and Falcons games this yr as a guide. The Chiefs should be 3-2 right now. But hey, gotta keep the new face of the NFL and the Swifties healthy. If they're going to call roughing the passer BS calls to help Mahomes succeed, defenses need to truly rough the passer, head/knee shots and maybe some of the cheating will stop.

Absolutely

Every officiating crew would have to be in on it.

Stats never lie. Go look up the stats. And then watch a few Chiefs games.

Why? Perhaps because they always do whatever they can to help along franchise QBs. From rule changes to bailing them out like the Mahomes reversed INT stat number, they do whatever it takes. That's the why.
If the leagues going to cheat there's only one way to rectify the situation, players take things into their own hands and I like Mahomes, this isn't his fault.

Don't for one minute think the Chiefs ARE NOT gonna win the SB this year. Are you kidding?? A chance for the NFL and its golden boy Mahomes to make history for the three peat? It's as good as in stone already. Between Mahomes and no nalgas Swift there is now ay the Chiefs don't win the SB this year. 5-0 and playing like mere mortals. They will win the SB with all the help the NFL can provide. ~~
I'm curious .
When did Mahomes become the NFL's golden boy: before or after he won a couple SBs ?

During

The fact that a lot of y'all back the Golden Boy is very puzzling... I'm willing to bet that the lot of ya will change your tunes when it's the Texans getting screwed over against the Chiefs, and not one of the very many other teams getting screwed

"During" ? - Is that not plausible ?

As someone who is a huge fan of both the Chiefs and the Texans I'm kinda in the catbirds seat
here, so I will pay especially close attention to the Texans visit to Arrowhead this year.

The reason is Swift…. Call it bullshit, as you say, but it’s true. She brings eyes to the TV for football games. Call it what it is, but the nfl is all about money and she’s makin the nfl more money.
Who is a fan of the NY teams that are bringing the casual fan to the TV? How about the LA teams? Whoever it is isn’t bringing eyes to the tv like Swift does.
She is what she is and lots of people love her and will sit through a football game just to see her on TV

She brings eyes to the game who normally would be watching the Kardashians and TMZ.

But our man Belicheck, and us like him, can do without.

Are you insinuating the Texans haven't played the Swifties since 2016?

Wait a minute. Using this logic. Are we saying people are actually sitting through a 3-hour broadcast with stupid commercials and teams running 50+ plays each to catch 3 or 4 glimpses of Taylor Swift?

Not buying it.

People talk and what you’re talking about would have been going on for years and years, no way someone wouldn’t spill the beans.
It has been, from the Renfro non catch, to the Pats/Raiders game with Stabler, to the Tuck rule, to the Rams/Saints NFCCG to any number of Brady calls to any number of Mahomes calls to the Chiefs 5th down to two no holding calls on the same play on the Cincy roughing the passer call in the AFCCG TO 3 SB's with not a single holding call.

I've just chosen to enjoy football but not take the NFL seriously kinda like the WWE and only a fool would bet their hard earned money on a rigged game. BTW, The rigged games extend way past just the Chiefs though they are the new darlings of God'ells NFL. Follow the money and you will see what God'ells doing and why he's doing it. Franchise valuations.

I'll we watching the KC-49ers contest Sunday and we will see if that game is "rigged".
Will you ?

I don't have to. I've seen the countless games over the last several years. Why watch a handicap match between the Chiefs and the Refs versus the 49ers??

I don't know about offensive holding but in the last 3 Superbowls that the Chiefs played they have 20 penalties for 189 yards while their opponents have 16 penalties for 112 yards.

Super Bowl LV.....TAM 4-39...KAN 11-120
Super Bowl LVII...PHI 6-33...KAN 3-14
Super Bowl LVIII..SFO 6-40...KAN 6-55
Well that just goes to show that the referees are favoring them.. right?

Take out Super Bowl LV that they lost and it tells a different story

So then you probably have taken advantage of your knowledge of the outcome of the KC-49er contest by betting heavily on the Chiefs. I would !

This is what I was responding to. "No holding call in 3 SB's."

But in the last 2.
Chiefs 9-69 yards Opps 12-73 yards.
A grand total of 4 yards less.

And neither had Taylor Swift in the mix and the eyes she’s bringing to the game that the NFL sees as $$$.

Look, kinda of 3/4 joking, but the Vikings are playing good football. That’s why they’re 5-0. Does that mean Minneapolis should start roping off a parade route? No, of course not. KC, OTOH, is not playing all that great and they still can’t be beat because they seem to always get that critical call. I’m not one who buys into the conspiracy bullshit but it seems more often than not anymore that the NFL really challenges that.
Your points are well taken. I don't agree with the Swift effect but it makes sense. Myself personally am not ready to make a prediction or say that the NFL wants the Chiefs or any other team to win the title. Maybe my trust in the league will change but as of now I am confident that whoever wins the next Super Bowl will have earned it!

Tenn is releasing Jamal Adams. I fully understand he's not THE JA we know from his Jets days, but I wonder if he's got enough juice to be in the mix here at S.

There are some other possibilities out there as well, like Micah Hyde and Ryan Neal.

At corner, Xavien Howard is still sitting on the couch. So is Patrick Peterson. J.C. Jackson, Keon Crossen who has history here. None of these guys would require a trade.

At LB, Devin White, Shaq Leonard, Tae Davis, and others are street FA's.

Whether by trade or signing a street FA, I'd like to see one each at LB, CB, and S added sooner rather than later.

All of these would be more of a depth piece than a starter at this point, but we're thinner than a super model on a diet at these spots. We need bodies.
Why hasn't Nick/Demeco brought them in? Has to be a reason.

Watch the game, don't look at the stats

I'm always conflicted when my two teams play each other.

How did this make you feel?

Will the Texans be a candidate to bolster the roster before this year's trade deadline? I'm not listing current players on the team as a resource since it's an unknown as to whom it could be.

Current OTC cap space - $6,265,274
Current Spotrac cap space - $7,017,108
2025 draft picks (rounds) - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th

Edited back for 2025 picks

Not at all. But is it a yearly occurrence? Nah. Has it ever been in a playoff game? Nope. Is it a rivalry game in any shape form or fashion? Nope.

Oops, forgot the year of the choke job.
I mean, I get your point, but a small correction.

In 2015, we lost to the Chiefs in the playoffs 30-0. That was very embarrassing and frustrating and presaged the choke job in the 2019 divisional round. That 2019 loss was so painful in so many ways. We had actually beaten the Chiefs in KC earlier in the year, and then we jumped out to that 21 point lead in the first quarter, it seemed like we were a team of destiny.

And then everything fell apart.

Ok so twice in the past decade, and none in the past 5 years
