Interesting how there's only one offensive player on that list.Texans are gonna have a headache trying to work out how they're going to pay our young stars in the next few years.
You got :-
CJ - he is going to eat a chunk.
D Stingley
W Anderson Jr
K Lassiter
K Bullock
Nico Collins
Tank Dell*
Toss in:-
Too Too
C Harris
D Horton
I'd love to keep this young core but you know we're gonna lose some.
Will be interesting to see how our young guys on the Oline go next season too.
Nick Carstereo is gonna have to keep picking well to replace the guys we inevitably lose.
I hope Fisher puts his hand up - we need a promising young buck on that olineInteresting how there's only one offensive player on that list.
I understand Nico & Mixon just got paid, plus Mixon probably won't be playing much longer. But it would be nice if we had some young offensive guys threatening that salary cap.

Should I assume that you're against trading CJ in the off-season?I just bought my wife and I Stroud jersey's. The alternate H-town ones. We have to win now!![]()

Or they could run their salary cap like the Eagles do.Texans are gonna have a headache trying to work out how they're going to pay our young stars in the next few years.

I hope they figure something out because I'd like to see these guys become lifelong Texans - instead of seeing them going elsewhere and making other teams good.Or they could run their salary cap like the Eagles do.
Correct. Why on earth would they do that?Should I assume that you're against trading CJ in the off-season?
Tongue in cheek. Some posters were hitting Stroud pretty hard until recently.Correct. Why on earth would they do that?
Saying he's part of the problem and hasn't been playing as well as he did last year, is hitting him hard?Tongue in cheek. Some posters were hitting Stroud pretty hard until recently.
You know it was more than that.Saying he's part of the problem and hasn't been playing as well as he did last year, is hitting him hard?
I hope he gets the job.Slowick virtually interviewed for the Jets HC position this afternoon.
I hope he gets the job.
No it wasn't.You know it was more than that.
Go Jets go!Let's all hope Slowish finds another job soon.
Strange thing is the special teams and Meco I'm pissed at moreLet's all hope Slowish finds another job soon.
This was Slowik's fault?Let's all hope Slowish finds another job soon.
ST's and the refs are the reason the Texans lost today's game.Strange thing is the special teams and Meco I'm pissed at more
When you read, and also make comments criticizing not only his play, but his mental toughness, using David Carr analogies, dredging up the S2, “I’m off the bandwagon”, “he is not a franchise quarterback” etc, etc, etc,……..No it wasn't.
I gave my draft assessment. When you read, and also make comments criticizing not only his play, but his mental toughness, using David Carr analogies, dredging up the S2, “I’m off the bandwagon”, “he is not a franchise quarterback” etc, etc, etc,……..
For those of you who are making those statements, don’t get your feathers ruffled if someone asks what it is that you’re implying. Because it’s a legitimate question.
Best thing we can do is hope he figures it out.Slowik isn’t going anywhere, so put a cap on all the wishful thinking.
I saw a poor pass rush & crappy defense.Did anyone notice how good the protection was for Jayden Daniels tonight?

Just looked at the OL for the Commanders and they avg about 6rys and have been in sync so that translates into a good protection and run gameJayden Daniels now has more playoff success than any quarterback in Houston Texans History in just his first season in the league.
They're not that good.Just looked at the OL for the Commanders and they avg about 6rys and have been in sync so that translates into a good protection and run game
Yep, you either get him an Oline or game plan for quick, short passing.Get CJ better protection and his mojo will be on display.
With a questionable OL, I observed one replay from behind the offense….protection was breaking down and every receiver was 10-12+ yards downfield and still going when CJ went down. Those type of plays are ran when a team has an OL like Washington and Philadelphia, not like the Texans.
Texans will need to take a couple of WR’s in the draft since Dell probably IR’s 2025 and Diggs moves on after his 1 year deal. Hutchinson had a couple drops in the 1st half that were crucial. Metchie caught what was thrown, but it wasn’t much. Both of these guys have failed to elevate themselves to WR2 or WR3 status. Like Mills, it’d be smart to keep them around as reasonable and affordable depth pieces.
I like Texan Cap’s thoughts on what to do with Howard/Mason. Their extensions were Caserio’s biggest mistakes last offseason in hindsight. Howard still has value as a starting guard but not at his current salary. Mason needs to go and let a new player take his roster spot.
TLDR: Cut Mason and off Howard a pay cut. If Howard declines cut him as well.

Those are my thoughts as well but I would not offer Howard lower contract. That does not benefit Texans as much as a post June 1st cut that would bring in 14.2 million dollars. I agree that he could bring something in a trade but that slashes the cap savings and you would not get much in return trade. Post June 1st cut for Mason also of $9.5m savings. That is two serious free agents that could be brought in. Roster cap of $10.7 + a pre June 1 trade of Dalton Schultz is 9.I like Texan Cap’s thoughts on what to do with Howard/Mason. Troy Chapman years ago did post regularly on this message board. IIRC, he got a lot of heat from some people who disagreed with him but he has now for years been part of over the cap.com. Also, he writes a letter called cap and trade that can be found on over the cap.com.That dude must read this message board. I could swear that’s what we came up with.
