Texans random thought of the day

I hope he files a defamation lawsuit vs the NFL. The fact that they doubled down on their stupidity I would be calling a lawyer asap! Get Buzbee on their ass.
I'm assuming all of this would have to go through the league/NFLPA before it could get before any judge. If there's a negotiated process in the CBA, that's the process that would take precedence. After, if the rules aren't followed properly, he could probably file a lawsuit.

Although a different type of case, this article demonstrates how difficult it would be for Mixon to get a fair shake if he brought a lawsuit against the NFL.

Player’s ‘Tort’ Case Tests Bounds of NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement

I didn't even know what an NFL team president was responsible for. I had to look it up:

Team presidents are the chief executive officers of the club. They are responsible for the overall financial success of the team. Presidents oversee several departments within the organization, including marketing, public relations, broadcasting, sales, advertising, ticket sales, community relations, and accounting.

The Texans have made it official, moving on from team president Greg Grissom, effectively immediately
Hopefully this President of the Houston Texans leaving turns out better than the last time the President of the Houston Texans left. RIP Jamey Rootes

And Says has been good to really good all year…. Then that mess
You could see it on the opening play, busted kickoff coverage leading to a long return, and the gunner tacks on 15 yards extra on top of that celebrating a personal play (FF) by throwing his helmet, when the play overall was already a negative, and is then so engrossed in his own success he fails to realise that his coach is pissed and shoves him in continued celebration. What a mess. On the opening KO!

Frank Ross has coached a great unit all year and has consistently been good for years, I think, though, he was getting too amped up on the sideline as the year wore on and it may well have spread to the players on the field. Need to tone it down a bit, play the fundamentals right, keep the good scheme, but you have to be ready to come right back and back up a good ST play on either side of the ball, so don’t overhype it.

Oh and Kaimi don’t like kickin in the cold and wind!

I really like Ross and worry that he he might get hired elsewhere as a HC.
OK I know a ST coach being considered as a HC is unheard of, but why not ?
My impression is that he's Demecos top advisor on game day, and Demeco has a lot
to learn on game management.

HCs ideally should not be coordinators, though for example our HC is clearly also our DC,
and the HC certainly shouldn't be in involved in coacing a particular position group.
I was answering your comment about ST coaches becoming head coaches... John Harbaugh was a ST coach for 9 years who taught DB's a year before coming HC of the Ravens

Thanks JB, and no I certainly did not know that: so Harbaugh never coached as a coorinator but just a single year as a position coach before going directly to a HCing gig ?
Very interesting !
Verable was an LB coach but DC here before becoming the Titans HC, right ?

I think it's a little scary that we're scapegoating Slowik and I bet he's better than he showed this year but it's also a huge, huge problem that he didn't adjust to all the catastrophic injuries/deficiencies. He didn't coach the offense well enough in light of those problems and didn't put them in a position to still be successful.

You still have to put your team in a good position with whatever they have to work with.

Anyway, not sure who we replace him with but we should exorcise the Indian burial ground that Reliant appears to be built on.
I recently read that NRG is in financial trouble as Harris County doesn’t have the money to maintain it. Maybe Hannah can talk Cal into building a new stadium downtown or near downtown? I’m sure there would be some interested investors. NRG is located in a terrible area anyway. Nothing to see or do around there, unlike other stadiums. Let’s get as far away from the Astrodome as we possibly can!

That's why I think they should build a new stadium in New Caney, or Atascocita.

That would probably work, but I’ve always felt that Downtown Houston has wasted its potential for decades. Imagine NRG being near Minute Maid Park/Daikin, then opening up more stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and bars around to attract tourism. I think it would be a hit. Visiting fans can stroll through Discovery Green and get a better memory of Houston than that ghetto arse area where NRG sits. Downtown Houston is way too business focused and not enough stuff to do for fun besides Main St.

I know things will probably work out in the end and the current stadium may go on for another 50+ years, but I my vote would be to move into Downtown.

Good idea but the cost of prime real estate will be astronomical there unless they can offset the cost a bit with an interested buyer for NRG

NRG is a really great place to watch sports. Hard to believe they would be looking to rebuild.

Great seats, great legroom, great viewing angles, it’s huge, looks like there’s plenty of corporate boxes.

I can understand the area it is in offers little footfall when there isn’t an event on. We visited the day before the game to check out the club shop and the area was very quiet. But Houston is so spread out that was quite in-keeping with the general theme of the visit (basically you are an hours drive from anywhere you want to go no matter where you’ve been 🤣)
