Texans random thought of the day

As this has grossly affected our offense, this is a must-read to understand...........with the need for our coaches to compensate........

******************************

As NFL trends to reduced passing games with two-high safety looks, Texans’ explosive plays, scoring, running game down

Texans rank 21st in scoring, averaging 18.3 points per game and are eighth in passing offense, 17th in rushing and third with 28 penalties, led by Pro Bowl tackle Laremy Tunsil’s NFL-high 10 penalties, nine assessed

If this is what some Texans depend on for performing at their best.........maybe their priorities may not be all that good............. that why this team has so far not been all that good. Maybe a little more effort and time being put into more important activities in prep for a game would be better spent...............like putting more into practice and the playbook. Winning does a heck of a lot more than a haircut for self image on gameday.

Think you might be taking these fluff articles a little too seriously? Maybe just a touch? What do you think?

Lotta crap to clean up on isle 4.

How many of you were wearing hoodies yesterday or today in Houston?

Mixon was on the sideline wearing this yesterday.

I know it's a personal hangup & i should just let it be. But I just don't get it.

Unfortunately it’s a bad look for DeMeco. This lands at his doorstep and he has to do something to get this fixed. Benching players and releasing borderline players would be a start.
I kept my eye on the rookie yesterday when he replaced Tunsil. Kid looked pretty good overall. Saw him pick up a stunt (when is the last time Tunsil did that?) and held his own for the most part.

If he cant get things figured out with the stunts I would do a Green swap.

Should be on the table but I’d give Kenyon a couple more shots.
This is a hard one. He had a terrific first game and the rest have been terrible.
I don't know what it is but it would seem opposing defenses have keyed in on some weakness.
Let's hope they figure it out because I hate to see a first round pick go to waste - or worse, be released then turn into a stud elsewhere. Like in our division.

Didn't the same thing happen his rookie year? He looked good first couple of games, then not so good to downright bad the rest.

Ok. We are about a quarter into the season. So is WAJ’s play closer to being a good backup than a good starting Edge? His stats put him in the Bryce Young end of the NFL stats. Is this what he is or can his injuries be limiting him? I guess my expectations might be too high at this point. But I’d love to see him breakout Sunday.

Great question. I too would like to see a breakout game.

Perhaps it is the shoulder injury and range of motion that doc told us about?

Yes..............but when is the last time you saw a Chiefs player get a fine greater than $5000-$8000? .................In fact, through 4 games, the Chiefs have had NO unnecessary roughness calls against them! :chef:
Yes.. But other than Chris Jones, the Chiefs are pretty soft. Maybe Mr. Swift isn't.

Just wanted to say I absolutely love the H town unis yesterday, I prefer them way more and the H just seems more Houston to me. The colors blended beautifully.

I was there in person and didn't care for them at first. But they grew on me fast and by the end of the game and along with celebrating the win, I ended up buying one, LOL

I didn't like the unis at first. But they grew on me, too.

My wife liked them immediately as long as they weren't black. When she saw they were a very dark blue, she accepted them.
I like them too.

They are a little dark for my taste, would look better with the original blue.

I was more impressed with them than I was previously. I thought a lot of the little details popped just right. The little pieces in the helmets, the Toro logos on the shoulders & above their names on the back, the shirts they wore under the jersey, the shoes.

Granted I don't want to see it every day but I'll be looking forward to the next time they wear them.

"Nico, he's in good spirits," Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said in his Monday media availability. "Of course, with the hamstring, it takes a couple weeks for a hamstring, so we'll evaluate that on a week-to-week basis to see where we can get him."

Ryans didn't answer directly when asked if he would play in his club's next game. That said, according to a report by KPRC in Houston, the Texans (4-1) are optimistic Collins could return for their Week 6 game against the New England Patriots (1-4).

Thankfully in terms of fantasy football, I have BTJ to fill in for him. In terms of real life football (the one that counts), we have Diggs and Tank to fill in for him, as well as Hutch.

& we're playing New England. Not sleeping on them but they don't have a scary defense... not yet. Green Bay & the Colts after. .. that's all hands on deck.

THUNDERKYSS OF 1965 YEAH, OWWW, 5 YEAH...

Oh sorry... yes, the two games after this one are critical. One because it will be a test of seeing how legit we are, and the other because it's a divisional game.

I would keep Nico out of the GB game. We need to make sure the hamstrings will be healthy for the long term this season. Diggs, Tank, Hutchinson, and Metchie is still a better than good line up.

Plus - we should have Autry and Harrison back. Defense should be better.

Losing against a NFC game isn’t as bad an AFC one.

I honestly don't know how that works. I'm thinking there are tests they can do to verify when a hamstring is & is not healed.

We don't know the severity of his current issue. I believe it was a concern before the game so hopefully he was mindful of it & "something" got his attention & they decided not to take any chances. So we may already be on week 2 of the recovery & this did not cause a setback.

I know hamstrings are never fully healed in Houston. We've seen guys pull a hamstring in January rest all offseason then go out week 2 or 3 because of that same hamstring.

All that said I hope they're taking a better approach than they have in the past, but I don't think we can say holding him out for the next two weeks, or even three weeks is prudent.

Arian Foster and his brother aren’t in the building so hopefully hamstring recovery is better.
