Texans random thought of the day

Listening to Seth Payne’s youtube channel he seemed bullish on Henry To’o To’o this season. Said he has slimmed down from his rookie season and looks a little faster. Played some clips where To’o To’o was a step or two slow to make the play and said he should make those types of plays this season.

I hope he’s right starting today!
Demeco does have a history with his LBs often having pretty poor rookie seasons only to develop into studs after that.

Agreed. That’s why even though on paper it’s the weakest unit on the team with Harris out i’m not concerned. Cap has a positive history developing LBs.
Personally considering the Colts are a running team and Harris isn't actually all that great against the run it wasn't me biggest worry. The speed would have been nice, but the Colts o-line would have likely swallowed him up like they've done before.

Rewatching the Texans vs Colts game, I think AR is very much more accurate off-platform than a traditional QB platform. His big plays are mostly from off-platform throws. His big misses are when he has time to set his feet and actually be a QB. He seems way more accurate when he's instinctive than when he has to think about it. If Steichen figures this out, HS!!!

"because of that brother"
Always has to make it about race...and I would seriously doubt that CJ would call him brother unless that loud mouth race baiting smith was a brother in christ...which I dont think he is...
Stephen A. is a tool on TV. He's actually pretty smart when he's not on camera. If you're a follower of Christ, learn to give grace.

Was just wondering if anyone has tried to log into the Texans website lately? If so are you going through what I’m going through which is a super slow unresponsive site that just locks up when you try to watch a thread? I think it’s all the crap they are flooding that site with trying to get you to buy their products.

I wouldn't even describe those 60 yard heaves as being accurate. More like punts that his WR ran to and made the play on. Disciplined play on the back end of the defense, and this game would have been a blowout.
You either need your eyes checked or your just too biased to admit that was a great throw.

Reminded me of all the Matt Schaub underthrows because it's more catchable than an overthrown ball.

I didn't see anything special about the throws, but the receivers locating & adjusting made them great catches.

to me.

Maybe. But acting like it was something special that very few could do is a bit overboard too. Not you, just hearing that a lot around the industry.

Johnny Manziel made a college career on throws like that and letting his receivers high point the ball and make the play. I don’t see any difference in that and what AR did Sunday. And he didn’t even complete 50% of his passes in that game.

He wasn’t a very good QB in college and I doubt he’ll be very good in the NFL. A ceiling maybe of a poor man’s Lamar Jackson.

There are quite a few teams that would be ecstatic with a poor mans lamar jackson...lets hope he never reaches that seeing as how he's in our division.

Except...

He won that Super Bowl in 2010 and never went to another one in 12 more years with GB while collecting four MVP's in '11, '14, '20 and '21.
yes he got one after sitting behind Favre forever, and like you said....he's pretty much now known as a in season qb and chokes in the playoffs...ala dak

"I don't want to be used as a reserve," King said on X, formerly known as Twitter. "My value as a player has been in the top of my position for years. It's time I deserve some resect. I show up every time the opportunity presents itself."

Note to self: never hire a McDaniel as HC. Keep them as a coordinator. Mike McDaniel sucks as the Miami HC.

I wonder why the market doesn't share his view

Will Tua be fined for lowering his helmet?
Probably not..............they will say that he was going down trying to make the 1st down..........and that his helmet hit the defender's arm while Tua was leading with his shoulder. Whatever.............under the circumstances of the concussion, I don't expect the NFL will try to make a case for an illegal hit.
