I hope DHop retires as a Texan
Hyde had 4 carries in his last game for a 3.3 yards-per-carry average, however, he averaged a solid 4.4 on the season.
The OC went to the GM requesting permission to interview with another team. However the head coach called all three into a private meeting and decided to disallow the permission. I got that from one of my private sources who was inside the meeting.Who’s going to interview our OC when he’s also the HC?![]()
I would Rather have Championship banners displayed than player jerseys. Why?
If Rice/Smith/Montana/Untitas/Mamath etc... dont retire with their teams what make Hopkins so special?

That doesn't surprise me.
This stat appears to have been trending in the wrong direction for 3 years now. I wrote “appears” because I don’t have the stats in front of me but I recall defense 3rd down conversion rate for the Texans to have been bad last year.

Also if my memory is correct someone posted their 2nd and 3rd down defense and both downs have been pretty abysmal this year.
31st on 3rd down, 31st yards per play, 32nd red zone %. this Texans defense is pretty bad. This year, we ranked #31 in the League............last year #25 at 41.49%...............but good for #5 ranking in 2017 at 35.32% and #8 in 2016 at 36.63 %.

Didn't realize is was that bad. Pretty isn't the word for it. I don't mind a "make 'em earn it a little at a time if they can", 'bend but don't break' defense on long drives, but once they are in the red zone you have to tighten up your coverage and start gambling.31st on 3rd down, 31st yards per play, 32nd red zone %. this Texans defense is pretty bad.
So... We need to replace RAC as well as O'Brien?
Yes, IMO.So... We need to replace RAC as well as O'Brien?
Which is why KJ Hamler is so intriguing, in spite of his size. If his speed is accurate at 4.28, he's faster than Fuller.
Indeed an intriguing prospect.................and he has all the qualifications of becoming an Texans speedster receiver...........an ACL his senior year in HS.Which is why KJ Hamler is so intriguing, in spite of his size. If his speed is accurate at 4.28, he's faster than Fuller.
Yes RAC has to go too.
True, I'm aware of this injury. But it was at the beginning of his Sr year, so he's had his senior year, his red shirt year and two years playing at Penn for recovery.Indeed an intriguing prospect.................and he has all the qualifications of becoming an Texans speedster receiver...........an ACL his senior year in HS.![]()

Other than the minor injury to his head/neck in the Indiana game (possible concussion), I see he played in all 26 games his two seasons.
I did read something that he was very dedicated in his training to returning from his ACL. What caught my attention was part of this training included running hills. Jerry Rice as well as other top receivers and running backs have used this to strengthen their legs and muscles.
So to what extent should drafting him be a concern?
Why? when he is afforded a decent talent level his defenses are usually top 10. OBrien gets all the talent on his side of the ball this year and his offense was ranked 13th LOL.
RAC is the best coach we have. He's playing a system that limits the mistakes below average players will make. He's been blitzing more, but he doesnt have a single player who can rush the passer consistently. The guys who want those cushions shortened would just be crying a river about the long TDs these below average DBs would be giving up. "keep it in front" is smart with the guys he has.
Reason being his defense has cost us a lot of game over the past three seasons. Getting rid of Clowney and Jackson hurt but even with those guys the defense still gave up chunks yards. This season we have press corners and he still have them playing 10 yards off .
I’m usually in agreement with you. But this defense is just as inconsistent as Bill O’Brien and his offense.
As I linked yesterday, our defense fell off when we lost Watt. Whether he has another season or two left, we need to address his replacement with one of our top three picks in this next draft.Reason being his defense has cost us a lot of game over the past three seasons. Why did the Texans not claim Janoris Jenkins off waivers?
Same reason we didn't claim Suggs.
We want to win now, but not "right now" now.
Drew Brees with a terrible fumble late in the 4th. Can’t win a super bowl with a qb like that, right @steelbtexan
I literally cant read 5 posts without seeing someone take a shot at him. Wow.
It's an example of the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
I know and I get it. Just seems half the posters here hate the guy for not sharing some majority opinion.

After a dozen years of not being able to read 5 posts without seeing him take a shot at Rick Smith or Watson, seems pretty fair.I literally cant read 5 posts without seeing someone take a shot at him. Wow.
Made me chuckle. The difference is Payton has shown the ability to scheme his offense around the talent. Look how creative he is with T Hill. You think OB would ever do that?I'm guessing Sean Payton doesn't know how to call plays to fit the talent he has.
Any given Sunday right? Nobody was really giving Minnesota chance on the road today. Anything can happen.Vikings with a big upset over Saints. Another close game. This year the playoffs have been wildly entertaining.
When BOB has a track record I'll be right there with you. Ain't gonna lie, I loved seeing him pumped immediately after the win. I think most of us would like to see him get the monkey off his back even though we're the ones putting it there.I'm guessing Sean Payton doesn't know how to call plays to fit the talent he has.
There are other posters that share a similar opinion... badboy being one of them. It's his ridiculous reasonings that warrant the ridicule.
It's fine to say, "Watson has to be a better decision maker to win a SB." That's a valid take. But to say things like he'll never win, he doesn't understand BOB's offense, Brissett is a better QB, Josh Allen outplayed him yesterday... that's what warrants the attacks.
I gotta believe that's the way he likes it. He can stop all of this if he wanted to.
In what way did Allen have a better day? What I said was it doesn't matter who the HC is DW4 will never win a SB with this style of play. I also said I hope I'm wrong.
Josh Allen had the better day yesterday and I will stand by that.
