No I was just passing the report to here cuz after that I saw Mixon mentioned in this postDo you know how many of the receptions were in the red zone?
^^^^^^Damn, every time I see a new post in this thread I'm expecting a new transaction. I thought there was a separate thread for chatter
Hey there Good to know thanks Dr Cloak for the constant Texans players information idknI am excited about this signing! A consistently disruptive and productive player at sacks. A perfect complement to Will Anderson.
If you include the category of women, we actually get a triple threat RB........
I thought you were kidding but just checked and you were not! How come no one's talking about this? I wanted him but did not expect we would get him.We got Danielle Hunter. Good job Nick.
Why not?I thought you were kidding but just checked and you were not! How come no one's talking about this? I wanted him but did not expect we would get him.

Texans, DE Danielle Hunter agree to terms on two-year, $49M contract
Four-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Danielle Hunter is signing a two-year, $49 million deal with the Houston Texans, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Tuesday.www.nfl.com
Since he has been in the NFL I don't know if he has been a model citizen but it appears he has grown up and has been smart enough to stay out of anymore such trouble. Knock on wood...If you include the category of women, we actually get a triple threat RB........
This Dline is gonna be fun to watch.Huge signing! Adding a legitimate pass rusher opposite of Anderson!
And roll dem bones Nicky did and draft ahead! My hope would be we sign Saquan and Trent Brown (notice that no one is talking about him?)and Danielle Hunter.
There are so many good players at positions we need in round two and three that I don't see how we can miss guys I prefer.
I guess my primary wish is at 23 getting Brian Thomas and then a trade up for a CB top of round 2.
Trade downs just offer so much.. if we can get them.
Roll dem bones!
And will look good with Daniel Hunter on the same line!I am excited about this signing! A consistently disruptive and productive player at sacks. A perfect complement to Will Anderson.
I thought he would go elsewhere for more than what we paid him. I've been a fan of his for a bit but again even when Steelbtexan was advocating early, I did not think we would get him.Why not?
After free agency and the draft are all over will we be singing the praises of our GM?
Their choice based on their evaluations. It has nothing to do with ownership as you try to make it.Tell me why the Texans have never been 1st day player, except the yr they signed Joseph and Manning in FA, which happened to lead to the best 4 yr stretch in Texans history. Thanks Son of Bum.
There is no use in trying to explain this, if one does not already understand this. This isn't a court. We're not lawyers. There's no rule that we have to be fair or balanced.
I'm of the opinion that a man, especially one as stout ad Mixon, should never hit a woman, especially one as lithe as the one in question, for any reason.
Loving the Danielle Hunter signing.
Sounds like he gave Texans a small discount.
He had great stats last season with the Vikings - 16.5 sacks, 80 QB pressures (Greenard got 42) and 23 TFLs.
If Texans get even 90% of that, it will be an upgrade over Greenard. Loved JG, but Hunter is gonna help WA even more with that quota of work plus his experience.
I believe we have a chance, even with a tough schedule as we will be tough too.I know he's a homegrown man, but I can't help but think that having CJ might have something to do with it. I think I read somewhere on a Minnesota board that he's chasing a Superbowl, and he wait what...came to the Texans...with a discount...that can't be true...holy crap, it's true. [Still getting over my self-imposed sabbatical due to PTSD]
Do not like. Can be persuaded to accept it if the return is good, but I'm thinking 5th round pick at best.Maliek Collins is being traded to the 49ers. No other details ATT.

Looks like #232.Only a 7th? So, I'm guessing this is a salary dump to make room for AA. The countdown to Arik Armstead is on.
In Overthecap.com, all the way to the right, Deadmoney & Cap Savings, you have a selection to make, which default at least for me, is Cut (pre-June1). You need to open this and select Trade (pre-June 1). Do this and now you have a cap savings of $3,470,588.Would need someone who is better with the cap than myself to explain but doesn't trading Collins cost more to us than just keeping him? According to overthecap he would have a 16 million $ cap hit which is almost $3 more than what his normal cap hit would be.
Change it to a post June 1 and you get a cap savings of $8.5MDo this and now you have a cap savings of $3,470,588.
I don't know, but a trade would have ramifications on the other team, as well. So everything concerning the cap would have to work out for all parties.Change it to a post June 1 and you get a cap savings of $8.5M
I assume they can designate it a post June trade just like they do a cut
Nick traded a 2025 7th rounder and got back a 2024 7th rounder for Collins. Way to go nick!So we essentially got Barkley for a 7th round draft pick? And for only 7 million?
Who wouldn’t take that?
And I bet your aunt could kick my butt too.
Nick's not drafting 4 7th rounders. Look for some trades for special teamers over the next month.Nick traded a 2025 7th rounder and got back a 2024 7th rounder for Collins. Way to go nick!
With Readers injury I would reconsider. He's not a spring chicken anymore and coming back from that injury to play at a high level....is probably unlikely...but Im not a medical professional...yet.So the Collins trade make me think that something is in the works. At first I thought it could be Arik Armstrong but he seems too similar to Autry. Now I'm wondering if maybe DJ Reader might take a discount to come home. We could still use a big run stopper to rotate with Foley.
I don't know, he could trade four 7s for a low round six and then Lord knows what he could do with that!Nick's not drafting 4 7th rounders. Look for some trades for special teamers over the next month.
No one team will want that many 7th round picks. But they can be traded to multiple teams. In 2020, Bill O'Brien was able to get rid of 3 7th round picks. First, O'Brien was able to move up 10 spots in the 4th round using a couple of 7th rounders. The Rams had traded away many picks for players and needed bodies. Next, O'Brien moved his last 7th round pick to the Saints for a 2021 6th round pick. Sean Payton used the 7th round pick on a guy he thought could be the next Taysom Hill, Mississippi State QB Tommy Stevens.I don't know, he could trade four 7s for a low round six and then Lord knows what he could do with that!
I was joking, however, you stated that he could trade those four seventh rounders for depth and special team. Why wouldn't another team want to do the same?No one team will want that many 7th round picks. But they can be traded to multiple teams. So I see Nick moving 2 or 3 of these 7th rounders. But not to one team.
The pertinent question is which players did the Texans get with these moves? Were they productive players? Did they make any impact? If not, O'Brien was making moves just to make moves. "Look at me!! I'm making moves!!!".No one team will want that many 7th round picks. But they can be traded to multiple teams. In 2020, Bill O'Brien was able to get rid of 3 7th round picks. The move up in the 4th round garnered Andy Heck. The Saints 6th was used in a Caserio trade, and ended up with the Bills. Who took Damar Hamlin. The Texans moved up in the 5th (twice) and took Garret Wallow. The pertinent question is which players did the Texans get with these moves? Were they productive players?
Personally, I think cap strapped teams should jump on a deal like this. Scoop up 7 or 8 late rounders to fill out the bottom of their rosters. Thing is, it's never happened. In the history of the NFL draft, as far as I can tell. So, history? Why wouldn't another team want to do the same?
I’m curious… I do not know the answer.Personally, I think cap strapped teams should jump on a deal like this. Scoop up 7 or 8 late rounders to fill out the bottom of their rosters. Thing is, it's never happened. In the history of the NFL draft, as far as I can tell. So, history?
That would depend on the tenure the FA has. It depends on how many years the vet FA has been in the league. The answer would typically be yes, the 7th rounder is cheaper.I’m curious… I do not know the answer.
is signing a 7th cheaper than signing a FA for the league minimum?

The Texans drafted Heck in the fourth round in 2020 and he has been with them since. Through four seasons Heck has played in 41 games with 21 starts....Heck re-signed. He missed most of last season with a back injury starting on PUP. Then when healthy they briefly benched Fant and had Heck start ahead of him.
He did not play well last season but the organization must like him. His contract is for a swing OT and he is not guaranteed a starting spot. Will be a good value if he gets healthy and improves with another year in system. Have to bring 90 to camp.
