sure as hell hasn’t slowed down your criticism of them. in fact I would say you’re unequivocally the biggest critic of this team on this board. Well except for many texian. But no one pays much attention to him. :)
Oh please! Let there only be one Texian..
Not many.

The Texans have signed punter Ty Zentner to PS.

Didn't know anything about him, but when I saw that they signed a punter to the PS I thought that there had to be more to it...

I see that in college he added field goal kicking to his resume in addition to punting and he was basically perfect kicking extra points and field goals.

His second year he only kicked one field goal and missed it. This past season he was a perfect 11 for 11 and never missed an extra point.

Who outplayed King? He is a solid nickel corner, who was essentially a starting corner on this team. He also added value at PR. Thomas is a good ST player, but you can’t value teams over core duties. Thomas is nowhere near as good at slot corner as King. But you made a claim so let’s hear it. Who outplayed King at nickel corner?
Someone said King was in the doghouse for whatever reason. Imo he should’ve made the team. Or maybe he wanted a big role and both parties decided it was best to part ways.

I am very interested in the team’s evaluation of these two rookie 7th round picks. Alex Austin CB and Nick Broeker OG.

Given the position and who the board has deemed the biggest surprise cuts it seems they see better upside going with 7th round rookies who were with a different NFL team this offseason than two vets who were getting starter reps (Deiter/King).

I hope the team is right and they strike gold. But can’t help but be a little worried they got too cute with “upside” plays.

Texans are doing the right thing allowing these players time to get healthy and be positive contributors instead of liabilities until they reinjure themselves. Same with Green going to full season IR. Injuries are going to happen but so far it looks like the Texans medical staff are making better decisions than in year’s past.

This hurts. I know it’s good to get them healthy, but damn the injury bug has got us before the season has even started.

Hollman and Thomas outplayed him.

As much as you might want to gnash your teeth about it King didn't really do anything in camp or in games.

The amount of tears you've already shed over the move has me thinking we lost an All-Pro or something.
Not an all-pro but easily the best slot corner we have and adds value as a pretty good PR as well. Y’all can have your own opinion, it’s fine. But when Thomas is torched, don’t be surprised.

They've got to sign Zentner up to the 53 now, right?
They can leave Zentner on the PS & have him as one of their 4 protected players. They can elevate him for 3 games without him having to go through waivers. After that I guess they could add him to the roster for 1 game if Johnston is ready to come back & more if Johnston is still recovering.

Injuries happen and they stink. But it could always be worse… the best players on this team are currently healthy. Which is nice!
I'm not so sure it's about the best being healthy which is important but the important positions that best players not healthy.

Funny when we trade a seventh rounder folks complain but when we pick up two seventh rounders now they are upside plays. Maybe so but I think getting two additional 2023 draft picks with Austin and Broeker just made our good draft look even better.

That's just how fans are.

Caserio will use a couple of the 7ths to move up and probably take a Flier on a guy like he did with Deculus.

The Texans didn't trade away assets to pickup these players. They used the waiver wire, which they have the #2 claim. That's what many of us have always wanted Caserio to do.

The Texans keep the #2 spot from last season's record only through the first 3 games. After that the waiver claim priority will be based on the reverse order of the current league standings and will continue to update throughout the regular season.

Of course if things go poorly the Texans could move up to the #1 spot. Here's hoping we move to the #32 spot.

I heard they decided to put the brakes on and let it fully heal instead of pushing their luck. I think they believe in Fant, as do I. He’s not as good as Howard but he moves well for a man his size. Should do well on outside zone runs. I feel ok with him at RT. His biggest job is to limit the amount of sacks and pressures to a bare minimum. Not expecting perfection from him, but can he hold down the fort for now? I see no reason why not.

I’m more worried about C and LG. Interior pressure, especially if it’s consistent, can really disrupt an offense. And with a rookie QB, that spells disaster. I just need “average”. Give me average as a 3 man IOL until we get reinforcements, and I’ll be a happy camper.

I think Patterson will at least be okay. It's LG that worries me the most.

Fant failed at his biggest job last season. What has changed?

Hopefully the IOL will be better this year without Q/One armed Green who was also playing on a bad knee. The bar isn't set very high.
