I really liked Krull from last game. I know he was playing against the scrubs, but he showed more potential than Jordan ever has IMHO.I actually really liked what Keene did even though the majority of his snaps were at FB

Well yeah but..I'm aware it just seems odd as they haven't even seen Brevin practice yet and his performances before that were under par to put it kindly.
Oh please! Let there only be one Texian..sure as hell hasn’t slowed down your criticism of them. in fact I would say you’re unequivocally the biggest critic of this team on this board. Well except for many texian. But no one pays much attention to him.![]()
The Texans have signed punter Ty Zentner to PS.
We don't hold your girth against you.Difference is I'm really a very big Texans fan.
I wanted to re-empathize Speedy's point, since I had to move a dozen posts from the transaction page the past 2 days.Doesn't your post clog the thread when you could have just 'like' his post as I could have 'like' your post rather than commenting?
Jimmy Morrison has been here three years right? They must see something they like.
Someone said King was in the doghouse for whatever reason. Imo he should’ve made the team. Or maybe he wanted a big role and both parties decided it was best to part ways.Who outplayed King? He is a solid nickel corner, who was essentially a starting corner on this team. He also added value at PR. Thomas is a good ST player, but you can’t value teams over core duties. Thomas is nowhere near as good at slot corner as King. But you made a claim so let’s hear it. Who outplayed King at nickel corner?
I’d expect him to be a game day activation and possibly start then revert back to practice squad player. Like Akins was last season before they had to elevate him to active roster (3 weeks I think).Jimmy Morrison has been here three years right? They must see something they like.
just not a clubhouse fit here.Someone said King was in the doghouse for whatever reason. Imo he should’ve made the team. Or maybe he wanted a big role and both parties decided it was best to part ways.
I thinks it's his singing. He's always trying to break on through to the other side. Coaches like that, as long as you're not off sides.Jimmy Morrison has been here three years right? They must see something they like.
I mocked Pitt TE, Lucas Krull (6-6 @ 260 lbs / 4.5-40) at least once in my mock's. I was also a little surprised he was cut. He would be a nice PS signing for the Texans. Added a clip showing his athleticism for a big guy.I really liked Krull from last game. I know he was playing against the scrubs, but he showed more potential than Jordan ever has IMHO.
Apparently. I don't see him on the roster and I don't see him on the PS.
They did, along with Littleton and Rivers.
They may try to get him back.
I don't know how it works, but they resigned him to the same contract.Apparently. I don't see him on the roster and I don't see him on the PS.
It's like a shell game.I don't know how it works, but they resigned him to the same contract.![]()
That's what I thought.It's like a shell game.
Wasn’t comparing them. There is only one Texian. Just playing with stealb. He knows I’m just poking fun.Oh please! Let there only be one Texian..
Not many.
I liked Krull coming out as well.I really liked Krull from last game. I know he was playing against the scrubs, but he showed more potential than Jordan ever has IMHO.
This hurts. I know it’s good to get them healthy, but damn the injury bug has got us before the season has even started.Texans are doing the right thing allowing these players time to get healthy and be positive contributors instead of liabilities until they reinjure themselves. Same with Green going to full season IR. Injuries are going to happen but so far it looks like the Texans medical staff are making better decisions than in year’s past.

Texans Place C Juice Scruggs, P Cameron Johnston On IR
The Texans are now guaranteed to start the season without two starting offensive linemen. After suffering a hamstring strain in …www.profootballrumors.com
Not an all-pro but easily the best slot corner we have and adds value as a pretty good PR as well. Y’all can have your own opinion, it’s fine. But when Thomas is torched, don’t be surprised.Hollman and Thomas outplayed him.
As much as you might want to gnash your teeth about it King didn't really do anything in camp or in games.
The amount of tears you've already shed over the move has me thinking we lost an All-Pro or something.
Ditto. Even factoring in competition level, Krull showed he has the size, strength, and hands to become a starting TE, or worst case, a competent #2. Maybe he can’t block? But in the passing game, he showed me something.I really liked Krull from last game. I know he was playing against the scrubs, but he showed more potential than Jordan ever has IMHO.
They can leave Zentner on the PS & have him as one of their 4 protected players. They can elevate him for 3 games without him having to go through waivers. After that I guess they could add him to the roster for 1 game if Johnston is ready to come back & more if Johnston is still recovering. They've got to sign Zentner up to the 53 now, right?
You do know that King was routinely torched as well? Not an all-pro but easily the best slot corner we have and adds value as a pretty good PR as well. Y’all can have your own opinion, it’s fine. But when Thomas is torched, don’t be surprised.
Injuries happen and they stink. But it could always be worse… the best players on this team are currently healthy. Which is nice! This hurts. I know it’s good to get them healthy, but damn the injury bug has got us before the season has even started.
I'm not so sure it's about the best being healthy which is important but the important positions that best players not healthy.Injuries happen and they stink. But it could always be worse… the best players on this team are currently healthy. Which is nice!
Like QB, LT, pass rusher and CB?I'm not so sure it's about the best being healthy which is important but the important positions that best players not healthy.
I'd say whichever your best players are.Like QB, LT, pass rusher and CB?
Seth Payne seems pretty high on Broeker. Compared him to Ben Jones. If only we could be so lucky.
If he clears waivers I believe he can be signed to the PS.Roy Lopez has been waived off of IR (with an injury settlement).
Teams aren't able to re-sign waived/injured players until the injury settlement time period plus three additional weeks have passed. If he clears waivers I believe he can be signed to the PS.
Funny when we trade a seventh rounder folks complain but when we pick up two seventh rounders now they are upside plays. Maybe so but I think getting two additional 2023 draft picks with Austin and Broeker just made our good draft look even better.I am very interested in the team’s evaluation of these two rookie 7th round picks. Alex Austin CB and Nick Broeker OG.
Given the position and who the board has deemed the biggest surprise cuts it seems they see better upside going with 7th round rookies who were with a different NFL team this offseason than two vets who were getting starter reps (Deiter/King).
I hope the team is right and they strike gold. But can’t help but be a little worried they got too cute with “upside” plays.
That's just how fans are.Funny when we trade a seventh rounder folks complain but when we pick up two seventh rounders now they are upside plays. Maybe so but I think getting two additional 2023 draft picks with Austin and Broeker just made our good draft look even better.
The Texans didn't trade away assets to pickup these players. They used the waiver wire, which they have the #2 claim. That's what many of us have always wanted Caserio to do.Funny when we trade a seventh rounder folks complain but when we pick up two seventh rounders now they are upside plays. Maybe so but I think getting two additional 2023 draft picks with Austin and Broeker just made our good draft look even better.
The Texans keep the #2 spot from last season's record only through the first 3 games. After that the waiver claim priority will be based on the reverse order of the current league standings and will continue to update throughout the regular season. They used the waiver wire, which they have the #2 claim.
I think Patterson will at least be okay. It's LG that worries me the most.I heard they decided to put the brakes on and let it fully heal instead of pushing their luck. I think they believe in Fant, as do I. He’s not as good as Howard but he moves well for a man his size. Should do well on outside zone runs. I feel ok with him at RT. His biggest job is to limit the amount of sacks and pressures to a bare minimum. Not expecting perfection from him, but can he hold down the fort for now? I see no reason why not.
I’m more worried about C and LG. Interior pressure, especially if it’s consistent, can really disrupt an offense. And with a rookie QB, that spells disaster. I just need “average”. Give me average as a 3 man IOL until we get reinforcements, and I’ll be a happy camper.
I’m the other way around. Jones has proved he can play in this league (admittedly it was at LT but still). Patterson is a 6th round rookie, I think he’s definitely the more concerning of the two.I think Patterson will at least be okay. It's LG that worries me the most.
Fant failed at his biggest job last season. What has changed?I heard they decided to put the brakes on and let it fully heal instead of pushing their luck. I think they believe in Fant, as do I. Hopefully the IOL will be better this year without Q/One armed Green who was also playing on a bad knee. The bar isn't set very high.I heard they decided to put the brakes on and let it fully heal instead of pushing their luck. I think they believe in Fant, as do I. Wasn't Fant playing LT last year? Luckily everybody should be back by week 5.Fant failed at his biggest job last season. What has changed?
