Rose Bowl Game Thread - Wed. Jan. 4

Any scouts out there? I just noticed something important. People have criticized Young's mechanics, but I just saw something. His dropback is modified so that he can quickly scramble if need be. Thomas again!!!!!!!

This game is living up to the hype it seems. I just hope Texas can finish this drive and their D starts to do something.

Both Young and White are really showing up this game.

they have no answer for him
i'm watching him throw, and I'm not seeing this sidearm that was brought up earlier. I think i remember reading where he was working on his delivery over the summer, and I think he's got a heck of an arm. With his ability to scramble, he would be a great fit on the Texans, but what kind of trade value do you think Carr has? Or do you think he would take a back seat and be Vince's slappy?

As I watch the game, I can't help but think of Randal Cunninham when VY plays. Vince throws better, but has similar escapability.

Yep, him and McNabb. Young could be a great NFL talent.

The mistake was made by not setting him up in the middle of the field. When I saw how far we was towards the sidelide I knew it was not going in

thats a joke Vince is 6'5 and like 260 pounds and they have totally different escapabilitiy. Vince's escapability is he's 6'5 and 260 pound and a hassle to bring down

nice tackle by huff. I like the way he wrapped his legs around the foot while yanking him down by the pads. Good instinct there.

funny thing I noticed about UT...all but 2 of the starters are from Texas. That's remarkable. I know this is a football state, but still. To have that many hometown guys on the team is a great feat in this day and age.

The OL is opening up some huge holes for White. Wow.

And that is why we want to draft mister Bush...........:yahoo:

Uh Oh, here come the Bush supporters.

You have a problem with that? When he does anything wrong the Bush critics appear out of nowhere so when he makes that corner why can't the supporters speak up?

I don't have a problem with them speaking up I was just bracing for the onslaught of pro Bush comments about to pour in. Apparently I was wrong.

there is only one thing thats going to win this game and it isn't a quick score, but a long sustained drive that keeps usc on the bench and gives ut's defense a rest. They are worn out

that, and more cowbell. More cowbell is the cure for everything.

Through three quarters, I am going to go on record as saying that, maybe, just maybe, I may have been wrong about Vince Young.

This guy is showing some chops. Good poise, good foot speed, and most importantly, a bigger and more accurate arm than I knew he had.

I don't know if he's worth the hype that some of this board has lavished upon him, but I am going to say that I like him a lot more right now than I have.

He does seem really accurate i would like to see if he can go deep. When I see him throw he always seems to be using touch I want to see what he can do when he really guns it.

You can put me down for that also.

I agree with that completely. I'm hoping he does stay in school for another year though. I don't want to have to think about the Texans trying to find a way to draft him and I still want to see Carr in an offense that's not the one we've been running for the past four years.

I can agree with that also. I saw Vince last year and there is a WORLD of improvement from last year to this. Another year and he should be able to start in the NFL.

I'll start off by saying I do not sit in one camp or another on the whole Bush debate

This is the first time I am seeing him play an actual game...I've seen highlight reels.....

So far, based off of tonight's performance....I am not seeing the person that has been hyped up SO MUCH....I do not see him worth the number 1 overall pick of the draft when compared to all the other pressing needs we have....BASED OFF OF TONIGHT

Speed of the USC offense has wore down the UT defense from having to chase them. Look for Bush to be able to get outside more.

Where is the TE Thomas expected to go in the draft?

The only place I could find him scouted was draftdaddy.com and they have him ranked as the #11-#17 best TE in the draft, or "on the cusp".
