Rose Bowl Game Thread - Wed. Jan. 4

FYI for everyone here. Tomorrow you can buy this game at Apples iTunes music store in a 50 minute version. I think I'm going to have to do this.

I had to go watch the ending of that game on my bigscreen. I can't believe what young & the Texas defense did when they had to have it. Don't forget the D getting that stop!! :)


Young really did look more like the Heisman trophey winner to me.

Great performance by Vince Young. I'm very curious as to what Bob McNair and the scouts think about this game (hmm....havent paid Carr his bonus yet.....LOL)

After seeing the performance that VY put on tonight, I would have to suggest that the Texans seriously consider NOT pick up the option on Carr. I think we need to select Vince Young!!! That was a great game. Vince showed he is the best player in college football! This is coming from a Carr supporter and a Longhorn foe!

You can watch it on your computer using iTunes but it will also load onto an iPod. I can't imagine it will cost very much. Most episodes of TV shows sell for $1.99 as do most music videos on there. I bet it will be a little more than that but not much.
 
Everyone needs to tune into Colin Cowherd's show. He would literally laugh callers off the air if they said Texas had a chance!

I can't stand the Longhorns, but I love Vince Young. I want him in a Texans uniform next year!!!

I am not sure he killed his stock....he had good receiving numbers, good rush numbers for the amount of plays (including one awesome run for a td) and his returns were decent at best...I dont think anybody expected him to go into the game and dominate

I have to agree with you. After a showing like that he should get a lot of intrest. In all honesty he could use another year of college to improve his reads, but I understand it completely if he leaves for the NFL.

As much as I would like to see us Draft a LT if we took Vince with the #1 I couldn't say much about it.

But, isn't that what a "Once in 40 years" player should do? VY did. Almost single handedly won it for UT.
 
Just what Houstonians needed: a Houston Native bringing much needed respect to the name of Texas. All the pain from the Texans season has been erased. Not really, but still.

Do the 2 year deal with David, draft Vince set him for 1-2 then turn it over to him. Could/should work.

I agree he almost single handedly won the game! WOW, what a performance! I am still in awe of what he did. That is what you call a WINNER! Something the Texans sorely need right now!

True enough, but its not like they made him the feature player in the offense though either. L.White had more carries and is the more solid true between the tackles running back.

I was against drafting Bush, but you can't really argue with what Young just did out there. We still are going to have to spend some other picks getting a line to protect him :)


Lets not forget Carr can scramble a little too, and still gets sacked like crazy.

I agree with that. I don't feel any different about Bush. I still want him with the first pick overall. In a perfect world I take Bush this year, then in 2007 I find a way to put Vince Young on my team.

I'm sorry but I've never once seen that kind of "will not be denied" game from David Carr. I've just never seen him do that. In the final drive Young was smiling in the huddle. He was under so much pressure it was almost visible. Hell I was feeling it! What does he do? He smiles in the huddle and then takes it down the field and into the endzone.

Give Carr one year under the next coaches system. Bring him back under the cheapest one of the possible deals and hope he shows signs of coming out of the four year funk he's been in. Then in 2007 go get Vince Young. Don't "hope he falls to you" or anything like that. Make a deal and get him.

272 all purpose yards 1 TD

I'm all for taking Reggie, but if VY comes out you have to seriously think about either or.
 
Maybe if we get a #1 and #2 or 3 pick in the '07 draft from a possible #1trade this year, we can use those to help get Young.

Depending on the hype generated from this game, and his workouts we may not be able to trade down an still get him.

I think the team holding the top pick in 07 will be demanding a king's ransom for Young or not trade him at all.
