I doubt it. I think the entire episode just scared the crap out of OB and he decided that a week of practice will benefit Savage more than staying in this game and getting killed.

We won't be firing OB but I hope Mcnair forces him to get a Kyle Shanahan type OC.
This is what I don't like about OB. Put Savage in, spread the defense out, go up tempo with quick timing plays.
But NO!!! Do the same stupid **** over and over. Run up the middle, drop the QB back on slow developing plays where he will either get killed or have to dump it off well short of the first down. ******* pathetic!!!!!!

Any coach worth anything at all would be able to minimize to some extent the weakness of our offensive line.
Truthfully we have been just a bit too tough on both Os and TS considering what they have to deal with.
Our offense reminds me of how bad it was just before Gary Kubiak was fired.
Os wanted to come to Houston because he thought the sytem fit him better. What a joke.
Os has been underwhelming but it is not all on Os.
TS has not been much more impressive but the same goes for him.

I have to believe that there are other coaches who salivate at the thought of coaching our team. For the most part we have a talented group but it is being wasted.
There's an article that came out today, Jay Glazer says O'b & the Texans never really meshed.
Say he wanted to draft Garoppolo & Hill, got Su'a Filo & Ervin instead.

Why would he do that? As long as RC is kept, should a new head coach take the job I see no reason for RC to relinquish his position. Our defense is not our problem. Rex Ryan can go somewhere else.

How much do you believe something like that? It just sounds contrived and revisionist to me. What happened to OB liking Tom Savage as much as any other QB in that draft? It sounds more to me like the kind of stuff someone says when they're trying to spin why they suck so damn much.
That's whaat I'm saying. Spread out the field quick passes. Put Hopkins in motion. Quick slants to start drawing the safeties up and then an occasional deep pass to the speed guys on the outside. I keep hearing how. Complicated this offense is and I just don't get it. It looks as basic as a crappy highschool offense to me.

Are you saying if McNair/Smith had listened to BOB and drafted Jimmy G the Texans wouldn't be a better team?
I think you would rather see BOB fail than the Texans succeed. Sad really, If the report is true I wouldn't blame BOB for quitting. He wasn't allowed the QB of his choice because McNair/Smith were the smartest guys in the room.
They will never get a great HC with the current structure of the FO.

I'd like to think that O'Brien is just not showing his hand for the playoffs and keeping it tight chested. Reality is that this offense really is that horrible and we are T minus 7 days before this team is offered up as ritual sacrifice to whoever it is they play in the first round.
