**Official Game-Day Thread** Texans at Titans, Sunday Jan 1, 2017!!

Osweiler deserves to start in the playoff game. He showed much more than Savage did while Savage was in there. I like Savage but I think it's time to move on after three years. We can do better with the few quarterback spots we have on the roster.

Have you seen the list of FA QB's for this year? Nothing to be excited about. We won't be high in the Draft either.

Glazer never reported this. A poster speculated this while talking about the 'rumor' of a coaching change.

A poster being me.

Someone asked why would O'b resign? or Why would McNair fire him after three 9-7 seasons. I pointed to the Glazer report citing differences the Texans & O'b can't get past.

My statement was in addition to that, more like a some of the other rumors may be true, if what Glazer says is true.

Denver up 17-0 and Matt McGloin exits the game with shoulder injury.... we get to play OAK :)
OMG, can we just go to Foxborough

We get to see Connor Cook after the half. Cook is the QB I wanted in the 2016 draft.

I would bet you that Os negates plenty of those ints with more TD's and most likely fewer picks. All I know is that when BO'b made offensive adjustments both Os and TS looked better. Only problem is that he rarely went with what seemed to suit his Qb's best.

Os is no savior but this team could at least be a full two games better if BO'b adapted and put his Qb's in the best positions to succeed at a much higher level.

Aside of that we are lucky to be 9-7 as opposed to 8-8.

You won't get any argument from me in regards to BoB lousy offensive game plan. but aside from mastering the 5 yard completion on 3rd and 9 and screaming like a schoolgirl after scoring a meaningless TD there is very Osweiler does well at QB on a consistent basis.

We're going to have to find another way to get Hopkins open other than stacking him.

It's not that hard to defend once defenses start expecting it

And Weeden looked much better in his two games with the Texans than Osweiler did!

If it was my call I would go with Osweiler who started 14 games and played in 15 of the 16 games. I didn't see Savage do much today except fumble the ball and get hurt. Osweiler atleast had a touchdown pass and ran for another. Threw for about 250 yards. No interceptions. He gives us the best chance to win and more than likely he will be the starter next year so why not let him finish it out.

I'm afraid that Smith doesn't understand the type of players BOB needs for his system and unfortunately has the say on picks.............and McNair meddles in choices that also run contra to what BOB wants/needs. Last year, it came out how much Smith and BOB were at ends..........until it was finally decided that Smith would have full say in player picks and BOB only had say on which of those players actually played...........this was never going to be a formula for success.........it's like having a relatively uninformed figure at the top with a relative dummy intermediate setting the table with only unmatched cups and spoons.........and expecting the host to pull off a successful dinner party. This conflict has continued behind the scenes through this season. Something is going to give. If Smith is not given double his salary and kicked upstairs, preferably in a locked closet, and McNair does not have his nose cut off so he can't stick it where it doesn't belong, be assured it will be BOB's decision to put an end to his participation in the gross dysfunction of this organization.

Denver might be looking for a new coach. Wouldn't it be something if he goes there and wins a SB within his 1st 2 years?

Great post

I'm afraid the only thing Rick Smith does well is kiss the McNair's butts. If BOB says get me Garrapolo and Hill and Rick refuses whose fault is that and it doesn't come from a misunderstanding. It either comes from 1. Arrogance 2. Ignorance. neither which are conducive to winning SB's.

As I was typing this Hill just returned another punt for a TD. Couldn't use that, these guys are never going to win unless they change their on field product model.

I believe the Texans ills have been properly diagnosed .

Get over it

Weeden aint playing, he's not even on the active roster for gods sake.

The Cleveland Browns say hi.

Weeden probably should've signed on as a backup with the Raiders, who with their draft pick of Connor Cook don't seem to discriminate against ginger-haired QBs.

I know I go on about Weeden on this thread, but starting Osweiler & Savage over Weeden would be akin to starting Trent Richardson over Lamar Miller.

Are you a ginger?

Or just ginger sensitive?

Sorry doc, I totally disagree.

& it wasn't too long ago I remember most on this board agreeing the coaches had too much influence on draft picks. I believe it was said that was a model for failure, all year long you have scouts diligently doing their jobs then the coaches come in April & throws it all in the trash.

I like what McNair is doing & I like what Smith is doing. Smith does his job, scouted, rank players, gather all the info, get coaches input & even catering to the coaches at times... Will Fuller is here because of his history with O'b, Nix was Crennel's hand picked player, John Simon was coached by Vrabel at Ohio State, all the way back to Gibbs picking Duane Brown.

I think Kubiak didn't like playing Rick's guys like Ben Jones, Brandon Haris, Keenum... I think O'b had been doing the same thing, Sua-filo, Mallett, now Brock. Aboushi has got to be a Rick Smith guy (recommended by Coach Devlin)

All speculation by me, but when we see these guys can play better than the guys our coaches keep trotting out there, I don't know what else to think. At the very least, guys like Akeem Hunt should have a set number of snaps every game, not our 4th string RB. Tyler Ervin should have a defined role on this offense.

I think we have no idea how good our players could/could've been because our coaches have been petty, trying to prove points instead of playing the best guys they have.

I'm sure I'm alone in this, but that's ok.

Again, I'm sorry if I said anything to make you believe this is fact. Jay Glazer never said as much. I was just hypothelisizing out loud. Glazer suggested there was friction between Smith & O'brien.

I only suggested if the rumors were true, that O'b wanted Garoppolo (which I do not believehe did) and Hill, Rick had every intention of getting them, but the Patriots skipped ahead of us & stole Garoppolo. For all we jnow, Smith was going to get him with our third. Same with Hill, maybe Rick was going to get him, but the Chiefs took him off the board sooner than Rick anticipated.

There is too much evidence of Rick getting our coaches the guys they want to think he would arrogantly refuse to get a guy our coaches want.

Had to listen on the radio today again... must have screamed WTF you running right for!!!!???? at least 20 times. That's my take from the game

They were running to keep from throwing an interception. Brock was in of course.

First offensive series of the game, Savage fumbles resulting in touchdown for Titans. What game were you watching???

I'll give you that. It was savages responsibility presnap to identify that and set up the protection. However. The game I watched ossweiler didn't do **** either until our genius coach finally made an adjustment in style to get the ball out of the QBs hands faster because our ol was getting destroyed as usual. We finally started to move the ball a little but ossweilers horrible accuracy and decision making skills shines through and he missed a lot of opportunities to make plays as he's done ALL YEAR. He's just not good. He was lucky as hell he didn't throw three ints. He missed a wide open wr in the end zone. He sucks bottom line. No amount of adjustments are going to change that.

Thats The game I watched. I just hope OB has enough sense to give savage that same chance to play that he gave ossweiler in the second half. If savage shots the bed I have no problem with bringing Oz back in. But for now it's still savages turn.

Sorry for dragging on I've been drinking cough syrup with cosine all day. I have pneumonia. Been sick for three days. Happy. New year.!

How can anyone blame play calling for throwing idiotic INTs on a regular basis?

It seems to me that there must be a problem with the helmets. He always adjusts it when there is an interception.

As bad as Osweiler is, Savage is even worse. Savage can't get anything going. I predict he will be cut this year. And hopefully we'll get a new head coach too. It's a total clusterf***

Just watching game now. O'Brian is painful to watch coach this team, just brutal dude.

Defense looks good. Lot of depth especially secondary & DL which I've never seen before. That being said, no pressure on the QB makes it tough. Clowney also inactive he is now the key to defense. Expect Oakland to double team and take him out of play next week. Whitney had better step up.

Osweiler is a train wreck & Savage is soft, fresh meat. Not sure if Weeden is even in the picture? Texans are tied for 1st in NFL since 2013 season using 9 QB's? I would say O'Brian has already failed in his quest to indentify a franchise QB after three years.

Losing and winning AFC South Championship, with ugliest football ever, congratulations

Braddock said BOB wanted Jimmy G at 2-1 and Rick told him Jimmy G would last until 3-1, a decision that haunts this franchise until this day.
