Nico Collins is a legit WR 1

$16.644 million of Diggs deal was signing bonus prorated in restructure over 2025 thru 2028. This dead cap doesn't accelerate as his contract ends after this season. $4 m can be absorbed if the team does not extend him or the 16 million can be
Restructured if they decide to extend him.

They aren’t tying up big money in two wr’s…or at the least I’d say it’s a longshot. I think Diggs is a one year renta. They will draft a young buck at WR next draft imho.
Yeah with all of the free agents we signed, I don't think we would even get a possible comp pick.

They aren’t? What are they going to do when Tank Dell is coming off his rookie contract? When is that?

This isn’t a gotcha question. Just wondering out loud and too lazy to google it myself.

They probably will draft a guy next year and another guy when Dell comes due. However I find it interesting Schultz Collins, Mixon are all going to be due new contracts at the same time.

Good things come to good people. He’s taking a mature approach to his career and life. This is why DeMeco says he looks at the person before the player. Edit. The WR1 will probably be the first one to get open on any given play.
Tyreke Hill and Frank Clark say hi.

Judging by the past two years in terms of efficiency, Mixon will be plenty done by then. He's fading now, other than in terms of the stat column (look at his efficiency).

Collins reminds me way too much of Andre Johnson. Body type, play style…and even personality and tone.

AJ was never a show horse. He did the hard work in the shadows, led by example, and played with with grace and class. Well…except one game in Tenn!

Collins is the same…unassuming grinder, who does the hard work alone… who lets his work on the field do the talking for him.

Yes…Collins best comp is AJ. He’s got the talent to put up those kinds of numbers year after year. The only question left for Collins is durability. He played 15 games last year. I would consider 15 a healthy year. Now can he duplicate it?

Congrats to Nico! Great job Nick and team. Great deal for both sides. Hard work pays off! Can’t wait to see he and CJ form a dynamic duo for years.

Collins is AJ, just a tad slower. And I'll take that every Sunday. :)

I think Mixon is going to surprise people this yr. A top 10 type RB if the OL can stay healthy. Mainly he's very good at pickup up 3rd and 1's and Goal line carries. His ability to catch the ball out of the backfield is a certain upgrade.

I am only hoping Collins' future performance is reflective of 2023............not 2021 and 2022...........in other words, not an expensive "one hit wonder." 🙏

Collins is a success because of his QB, and because he stayed relatively healthy for a year.

Nico needed development time in the lab, and his QB was complete dog doodoo those years. I think we're only going to see Nico continue to improve here on out.

Diggs was a safeguard for Metchie in my opinion. I would've just stayed and drafted Brian Thomas Jr, but I get the Diggs for 25 2nd rd pick. Diggs probably not getting a deal, but he could get a 2 yr deal that falls in line with some of the other players coming up for an extension

Yes, because he's going to want 4 years and ~120m to stay.
I don't think he will get that from any team let alone Houston. He's must be really good to equal Nico and Tank could actually be right there. Let's not disregard Noah Brown a 17 + YPC guy who might be able to remain healthy who like Diggs is on a 1 year deal. If he's hot, 7 will get the ball to him.
FEAST.. BEAST!!

Yeah 1300 yard seasons should be the norm but I want to see double digit touchdowns.

We’re talking about a possible 2026 comp pick. Way too far out to speculate.
Will there be a market for Diggs at those numbers? Maybe a two year deal with a couple of voidable years to stretch out the cap hit.
Put a SB ring on his hand in 2024 and he might just sign team friendly one year deal(s) with Texans. I think he has his eye on one of Nick's sweater vests....

I have Noah Brown as safety net for Metchie and hope both play well enough to be on the team going forward.
Stephon Diggs in an [I will show everybody!] Season with SB at the end is a stand alone deal.

2025 I see Collins being the super star vet that Diggs is with Brown be the guy opposite Nico.
I am going to be rooting for X to be stepping up on his touches this season. I can see a scenario where we do not have to draft a wide receiver next year.

Brown? Metchie?

Y’all didn’t watch Diggs much last year, stats may be off but that’s not all on him. Something was off with Josh Allen last year.

A reminder…..

I read several posts from Buffalo fans that claimed Josh Allen was the issue.

Relying on Noah Brown to any significant extent may not be reasonable.........with his history of several groin tears and back problems and with his January 2024 shoulder labrum tear/surgical repair. A shoulder labral surgery for a WR is easily at least 6 month recovery for contact game play, and up to 12 months for maximal performance recovery.

I look at how he plays and how many games he plays. Last years stats are irrelevant since Burrow missed most of last yr. However I agree with you that after three years it will be time to move on. What excites me is how good Mixon is in short yardage and GL situations. This has been a long time weakness of the Texans.

I had forgotten about the shoulder repairs! Thanks for the reminder yeah those groin tears can be painful.

Is X Hutchinson? I’d be mildly surprised if he makes the final 53 barring injury up the depth chart. Ben S. Supplants him imho. Probably lands on the PS or he might be claimed by another team first. Kid has some talent but I see him as a spot player on offense whose primary role is ST.

Responding to Doc above, I’m not counting on Noah Brown. If he’s healthy most of the year, it’s like opening that gift as a kid, and you know what it is…but inside the main box there is a surprise extra toy. And because it’s unexpected, your more excited about the smaller toy than the main toy. Fortunately, the depth at WR is among the best in the NFL…maybe even the best.if he’s out most of the year, we’re still ok as long as it doesn’t become a 2023 offensive line situation.

As for now, I have Skoronski replacing Robert Woods at some point and X replacing Noah Brown.

Cracker Jack's taste like crap but the toy was cool.

Truly. I was more confidant in our ability to convert 3rd & 8 than I was in our ability to convert 3rd & 2.

This is going to be the biggest change in this yrs offense.

Green and Mixon are as big of adds to this offense as Diggs. IMHO.

Why? If healthy, Brown is a far superior player at this time. What about X excites you? To me, he is completely replaceable. I see nothing special with that cat. Maybe he will make some great leap, but last year he couldn’t get open if his life depended on it, and if you can’t separate you won’t play in this offense for long.
