NFL Random Thought of the Day

***************************************************

Given perceptions of officiating bias toward the Chiefs and the league's embrace of gambling revenue, the pressure is mounting on Goodell to answers for ongoin...
Perceptions are one thing, because I'm gonna need something much more compelling to
convince me that NFL games are fixed - gonna need something along the lines of a
Definitive Revelation !

Until somebody (retired ref for example) comes out and spills the beans I doubt we’ll ever have definitive proof. But if you can’t use your own eyeballs and see how many calls lean toward the Kansas City Chiefs, I don’t know what to tell you.

They have won an NFL record 17 one score games in a row!! I don’t care how good you are, that’s damn near impossible with the way the NFL works, the parity, the way the ball bounces, etc.

And it doesn’t take much to swing these games in the Chiefs favor. Yes, they are a very talented team, but when you give a team like that extra opportunities to stay on the field, or take an opponent TD run off the board with a questionable holding call, or any number of things throughout a game, that’s all it takes for a good team like KC to take advantage. You don’t have to have a thousand people involved.

Because of the influence of a certain pop singer last years SB viewership shattered the record for most watched event in American history. Shattered it. I expect records to be broken again this year because of the extra eyeballs she brings to the game that the NFL is not going to not take advantage of. I’ve already heard that 30 second commercials are going for $8,000,000 plus, a record of course.

What about the rest of the NFL? I doubt there’s any fishy stuff going on in a Jaguars/Titans game unless it’s making sure the numbers jive in the gambling arena. That I don’t have a strong belief in but because of what’s going on with the Chiefs, which appears to be plain as day if you’re watching their games, it has created an aura of doubt.

If you refuse to see it without hard proof, that’s fine, but nobody can give that to you right now. The doubt and suspicion are out there and it’s not coming from just whacko conspiracy theorists who live on that shit. I am in no way, shape or form one of those nutjobs, but that said, I can’t ignore what I’m seeing with my own eyeballs. And that is that there is a heavy lean towards calls favoring the Kansas City Chiefs throughout games that give them extra advantages.

Why is a mid-market team that important to the NFL? Couldn’t have anything to do with a new generation of eyeballs tuning into Chiefs games, right?

The officiating in the NFL is atrocious. I don't think it's some sort of conspiracy at the NFL level, but it's obvious calls go a certain way for certain teams. The evidence is there for all to see. It's easily fixable by making all flags thrown subject to a normal challenge within the current challenge rules. As for challenging a non-flagged call, make that available to the teams but keep the current number of challenges a team is eligible for the same.

There has to be a review process as well for challenges (outside the refs on the field). If anything the silly UFL does right, it's that.

If you've watched Chiefs games over the last 3 yrs and cant tell what's going on you never will.

Go back and checkout the Rams vs Saints NFCCG a few yrs ago. The cheating is rather obvious. I've learned to treat watching NFL football like I was watching the WWE. I just laugh.

Why is a mid-market team so important to the NFL ?
Well my friend you are overlooking the obvious. As someone who was born and grew up in the
KC area I can tell that after NY city & Chicago there's few places in this country that are known to be a bigger hotbeds for Mafia activity than that liitle ole mid-market place of KCMO.
Clearly the Mafia is fixing those games just as they fixed the 2017 NFL Draft so that the KC
Chiefs would have one Pat MaHomes as their QB.

Referees can be bias without consciously cheating. Think NBA Jordan or NFL Bradey. Don't know how you remedy it though. I do think there's a Chiefs bias.

Found the Chiefs fan!

If you read his post he told you why.

Ratings of last year’s Super Bowl and what commercials sold for.

Which is due to a certain pop star.

Two of the worst owned teams are major market teams and fixing those games would be too hard. I am talking about the Jets and Cowboys. Same could be said for Giants.

On the surface, sounds like a plan. But will we begin seeing 4-5 hour games? I guess the NFL wouldn't mind......................they could make another fortune in an extra myriad of commercials...................:toropalm:

No sir you are mistaken because what's going on here is clearly all about the ghost of Al Capone and his consiglieres.

Gotta rehab his value somewhere.
What's that thing about being promoted incompetent? Something like that.

There was a todo about him not getting a shot at HC & how unfair it was. There were some that wanted him here.

One argument against him was that he was OC in name only under Reid. He parts ways from Reid & now we see the league has decided he's a RB coach.

Don’t get me wrong, I'd love to be an NFL RB coach.

Guess who just won Bum Steer of the Year!

Lucky for Jerry yesterdays mavericks trade hadn’t gone through before story deadline.

Owner of the Commanders rejects changing name back to Redskins.,
I don't care about going back to the Redskins... There's got to be hundreds of names better than the Commanders. Hell I'd take the Washington football team over that. Personally I wish they just changed it to another name that still represents native Americans.. Like the Thunderbirds or Redhawks (could've kept the R and feathers on the helmet), something, anything but "commanders".

I’ve posted multiple times about changing the name to RedHawks and using the old “R” and 2 feather helmet. Modify the color scheme so the maroon helmet is the primary. Throwback could aways be the yellow helmet.

This re-name could be a financial boon for the new owner.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- New Jacksonville Jaguars coach Liam Coen knows exactly what he wants out of his team: Play fast, be fundamentally sound, have an attack mentality, be good at situational football and be mentally and physically tough.

Coen then elaborated on that last category, which he intimated might be the most important of all when it comes to culture and identity, two things that were notably missing in 2024: "I want savages."
Wish we had a few of those on our OL..
