I totally agree. Spot rac has the cap going up approximately 20 million from 2024. I think it will be closer to 25 million and maybe more if the NFL does what I think it will do and goose the cap for this season in expectation of future increases.

Keep in mind that Houston can adjust the first year of a contract with higher dollars later. For example with Sting, he can extend and receive a 25 million roster bonus for 2026 leaving his cap hit lower in 2025. When 2026 season gets here, that roster bonus can become a signing bonus and prorated across the length of the new extension. He doesn't care because it's guaranteed money. Also allows other players to come in to increase playoff money opportunities. This is why I think Caserio is being very close to the vest concerning Diggs and some others. Nick seems willing to allow his free agents to test the market and then make his moves.

Pat Mahomes Sr., the father of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, created a bit of a stir when video emerged of a squabble with former baseball player John Rocker on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.

The problem for the elder Mahomes is that he’s currently on probation after a third DWI. The fight arguably violated the terms of his limited freedom.

Unless it wasn’t an actual fight.

Via TMZ.com, Mahomes Sr. told a court last week that the fight was a staged promotion for an April boxing match with Rocker at Barstool’s Rough N’ Rowdy. The contract, Mahomes Sr. showed the court, was signed on January 17.

While it kept Mahomes Sr. out of jail, it exposes the whole thing as a ruse aimed at hyping the fight.

Mahomes Sr. is due to make at least $85,000 for the fight. He could get more depending on the pay-per-view numbers.

And the phony fight on Bourbon Street was part of the effort to bump the numbers. If the fake altercation didn’t present Mahomes with the prospect of real incarceration, the official word would still be that the falsified confrontation was legitimate and genuine.
 
As of yesterday, OverTheCap.com, projects a 2025 $272.5 million salary cap.

Honestly isn't this kind of criticism par for the course for Florio?

It's kind of a minor mindf*ck the number of people that follow the league routinely that also repeat his blather continuously.
