NFL Random Thought of the Day

I'd have no problem with offering a conditional 6th rounder for Kupp

If no GM wants that contract…Rams may have to cut him post June 1st to recoup any cap savings. When he’s cut, there’ll probably be a lot of bidding. I initially thought of trading for him before the other teams could be involved, but I’d be good with competing for his services so long as the contract money remains feasible. On a side note…..would be great to have him on board to help the receiving group with the transition to Nick Caley.

Would you be willing to spend 2 yrs 25 mil on Kupp?

and 2 yrs 10 mil on Demarcus Robinson?

Do you think Kupp is still a 1k yard WR? If so, the market appears to be around 18-20 million/year.

Hopefully it gets reset because that is way too much for that level of production.

Meanwhile, Saquon, Henry, Jacobs and Mixon are doing their best to get RBs paid more than WR2s again.

If healthy yes, he hasn't been healthy due to knee and high ankle sprains. Hence the discount.

But do the refs call every play equally? Timing is everything
The NFL Referees Association on Tuesday joined league commissioner Roger Goodell in dismissing suggestions that officials favor the Kansas City Chiefs when working their games.

A day after Goodell called it a "ridiculous theory," NFLRA executive director Scott Green said in a statement that Goodell's comments were "spot on."

"There are many things that fans can worry about over a 17-game season," Green said, "such as coaching decisions, player injuries, the weather and, yes, even close calls on incredible plays made by incredible athletes. But you can rest assured that on every single down, NFL officials, both on the field and in the replay booth, are doing everything humanly possible to officiate every play correctly."

Dobler was diagnosed with Stage 3 CTE by researchers at the Boston University CTE Center. CTE is a degenerative brain disease linked to repeated blows to the head that can only be diagnosed after death. Stage 4 is the most severe diagnosis.

In 2010 when he was 59, Dobler had pledged to donate his brain to the BU CTE Center. According to the news release, Dobler had a subtype of the disease called cortical sparing CTE, which was discovered in 2024 and is marked by "slightly less severe cognitive symptoms, but earlier onset of behavioral symptoms."

The media is hyping up trade rumors surrounding Wilson. So I need every Texanstalk member with a twitter account to post something similar to this:

"Sources are saying the Texans are interested in Garrett Wilson and the Jets have had meaningful talks with them."
I like “Garette Wilson reportedly house hunting in Houston.”

“Garrett Wilson seen at IAH. May be something. May be nothing.”

Mahomes-Kelce is the most prolific QB-receiver combo in Super Bowl history with 389 yards
By Michael David Smith
Published February 10, 2025 12:04 PM

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce played a game to forget in Super Bowl LIX, but they nonetheless got themselves a place in NFL history in the process.

With Kelce catching four Mahomes passes and gaining 39 receiving yards, the Mahomes-Kelce combination has now totaled 389 yards in their four Super Bowls together. That’s the most yards for any quarterback throwing to any receiver in Super Bowl history.

The previous record was 364 yards, which was the total that both Tom Brady threw to Rob Gronkowski in Super Bowls, and that Terry Bradshaw threw to Lynn Swann in Super Bowls. Joe Montana and Jerry Rice were just behind them, with 363 yards in the three Super Bowls they played together.

Now Mahomes and Kelce are first on the list. Whether they ever add to that total — or whether Kelce is done in the NFL altogether — remains to be seen.
