Perceptions are one thing, because I'm gonna need something much more compelling to
convince me that NFL games are fixed - gonna need something along the lines of a
Definitive Revelation !
Until somebody (
retired ref for example) comes out and spills the beans I doubt we’ll ever have definitive proof. But if you can’t use your own eyeballs and see how many calls lean toward the Kansas City Chiefs, I don’t know what to tell you.
They have won an NFL record 17 one score games in a row!! I don’t care how good you are, that’s damn near impossible with the way the NFL works, the parity, the way the ball bounces, etc.
And it doesn’t take much to swing these games in the Chiefs favor. Yes, they are a very talented team, but when you give a team like that extra opportunities to stay on the field, or take an opponent TD run off the board with a questionable holding call, or any number of things throughout a game, that’s all it takes for a good team like KC to take advantage. You don’t have to have a thousand people involved.
Because of the influence of a certain pop singer last years SB viewership shattered the record for most watched event in American history. Shattered it. I expect records to be broken again this year because of the extra eyeballs she brings to the game that the NFL is not going to not take advantage of. I’ve already heard that 30 second commercials are going for $8,000,000 plus, a record of course.
What about the rest of the NFL? I doubt there’s any fishy stuff going on in a Jaguars/Titans game unless it’s making sure the numbers jive in the gambling arena. That I don’t have a strong belief in but because of what’s going on with the Chiefs, which appears to be plain as day if you’re watching their games, it has created an aura of doubt.
If you refuse to see it without hard proof, that’s fine, but nobody can give that to you right now. The doubt and suspicion are out there and it’s not coming from just whacko conspiracy theorists who live on that sh
it. I am in no way, shape or form one of those nutjobs, but that said, I can’t ignore what I’m seeing with my own eyeballs. And that is that there is a heavy lean towards calls favoring the Kansas City Chiefs throughout games that give them extra advantages.
Why is a mid-market team that important to the NFL? Couldn’t have anything to do with a new generation of eyeballs tuning into Chiefs games, right?
