It's possible.

They have 3 teams in the bottom 6 in rushing yards per game left on the schedule. Detroit , Jax and Houston all giving up at least 130 per on the ground and the Texans next to last in the league at 165 .... Only the Cowboys are worse.

This next 4 weeks is rough with the Colts twice , Ravens and Bears .... that Bears defense is legit , also dates with GB and Cleveland. That's a pretty darn tough schedule.

Trent Brown was hospitalized as an emergency yesterday.............not for COVID-19 related issues. During pregame, he received IV fluid infusion. While receiving this treatment, air was accidentally introduced into the IV line, leading to what is known as an air embolism. Such an incident can lead to anywhere from benign results to catastrophic results, including death............depending on how much air is introduced. When significant amounts of air is introduced, it can lead to compromise of circulation/oxygen to various organs, especially to the lungs, heart and/or brain.

Fortunately, Brown's episode was relatively mild (discomfort with breathing) and was quickly treated. He should recover without lasting issues.

This type of complication is due to an error in technique, and should NEVER occur..........especially at the hands of a supposedly well-trained NFL medical staff.

This will never happen but they should trade DW4 for cap relief. I know you suggested trading DW4 for the 6th pick to draft Herbert during draft season. Would you rather have DW4 right now eating up 40 mil per yr on the cap or Herbert on his rookie deal.

At that moment I saw the financial benefits of moving Watson for what I felt would be the prototypical QB OB was looking for.....but they didn't make the move. Herbert is proving to be everything I thought he would be but OB/Kelly might've made him look more like Carr than the QB we see performing in SD.

Might/Could be etc... you're projecting.

I ask you this, would the Texans be in a better position today with Herbert as their QB for the next 5 yrs than DW4? If your answer is yes, and you like a QB after a couple of years then you make the move., particularly if DW4's avg play continues over the next 2 yrs.

I didn’t project anything. At that moment I would’ve made decisions beneficial to the organization, nothing more, nothing less. I liked Watson and what he brought to the team but I also recognized the holes and proposed a trade idea that might’ve helped the team more in long run in building a complete team.

As I stated, the OB didn't make this move nor did he do anything to make the Texans better. So I’m happy that Herbert is with SD b/c I just couldn’t stand around and watch this organization burn their 3rd RD1 QB.

What makes you think BOB would've messed up Herbert? Even you said you thought Herbert would be a good fit with BOB.
 
Tampa Bay vs NYGiants

Started as a competitive football game. Through 3 Qtrs, I was impressed with them young’ns in Blue. But Jones missed a bunch of targets high. If he were able to make those throws, this game would have been over.

But he didn’t. & it’s not.

I don’t know if that’s something he can “fix” but if it is, NYGiants are going to be where we want to be very soon.

He’s playing hard now, it’s going to be an exciting 4th Qtr.

What if..
Would you trade Watson to Jags for their two round ones? What about Jets second round one and their round 2 projected now at #33?
The trade must be by deadline November 3rd not after season.

I would do this trade in a heartbeat. Those teams wouldn't do this deal though.
 
Just kicking ideas a round:
Lawrence remains @ Clemson numerous reasons.
Justin Fields has some doubters.
Zack Wilson has maybe more.
Jets trade late first and 33 for Dashaun as they don't see him as you do. I'm not denigrating your POV just saying Jets may be different. They get their QB of the future plus still have 1.1 to make progress with.
 
Absolutely ridiculous that the Steelers/Cowboys game is going to be the "National" game Sunday afternoon. Much rather watch Miami (Tua) and the Cardinals (Murray) than the snooze fest blow out that's gonna happen in Dallas. Joke.
 
The 49ers will be playing with the QB, 3 WRs, 3 RBs, TE in addition to 2 of their 5 OL starters are out this week. The return of Kittle is their only bright spot.........a very small bright spot. :toropalm:

The NFL soon could be adopting a very real incentive for its teams to develop minority coaches and executives.

Peter King of NBC Sports reports that, at a virtual ownership meeting scheduled for Tuesday, owners likely will vote on a measure that would reward teams whose minority assistant coaches and non-G.M. executives become head coaches and General Managers.

The rule, if adopted, would give the team that developed the minority coach or G.M. an extra draft pick. However, the rule would not reward the team that hires the minority coach or G.M.

Previously, the NFL had considered the latter possibility. It was met with criticism by those who believe that the league should not create an incentive for essentially doing what they should be doing without getting a strategic bonus for doing so.

Under the proposal, the team losing the minority assistant coach or executive would receive a third-round compensatory selection in next two drafts, if the candidate had employed by the former team for at least two years.

For example, if Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy lands a head-coaching job in the next hiring cycle, the Chiefs would receive a third-round compensatory pick in 2021 and in 2022.

Although this proposal, which per King has a “good chance” to pass, does not create an incentive for the team that hires a minority coach or G.M., it incentivizes teams to develop minority candidates who would then realize a promotion elsewhere to one of the premier positions in coaching and scouting/team management.

Why would a team hire say Bienemy if they knew hiring him was going to help their main competitor, in this case the Chiefs?

Dumb idea and will hurt minorities chances of getting jobs more than help them.
 
The way the NFL is handling the COVID-19 Protocol is becoming more and more questionable.

Bears put Deon Bush on COVID-19 reserve list after traveling to Tennessee

Bears safetyDeon Bush is already with the team in Tennessee for today’s game against the Titans, but he has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Bush did not test positive but did have contact with someone else who tested positive when he was away from the team, according to multiple reports. Bush apparently only found out the person he’d been in contact with tested positive after he had been on the team flight.

The Bears did not put anyone else on COVID-19 reserve, although if Bush ends up testing positive they might have to put teammates who had close contact with him on the list as well.
