Moulds Trade Official

I heard the BILLS were interested in picking up Antwaan Peek. Maybe that is why we have signed DE and LB's this off Season. Texans might compensate the Bills with a 5th or 6th and Peek. They picked up Foley who used to be a TEXAN and he has done real well for them so they probably view PEEK as the same type player. (By the way My CAPS isn't Broken) I just can't stand the little wimps that worry about someone using all CAPS to EMPHASIZE a POINT. Go CRY to your MOM not to me!!!!!

That is insane. IN.SANE. The Texans placed a first round tender on Peek this year.

Buffalo has no leverage in this deal. They will not pay his full salary this year, and will have to cut him if they don't make a trade. The Texans are in the catbirds seat on this one.

I'm thinking 5th rounder.

We just got home from dinner. When I left we were at post 500. I sifted through all the pages to let the anticipation roll on. . . .Now I am caught up to speed! I soooooooooooooooooooo wanted to just jump to the last page!

Giving them Antwaan Peek just to give them a pick one round later would be nuts, Antwaan has a lot of potential.

I second that. Peek is still an edge guy and we need that. Unless we draft differently in April.

I know. Isn't it exciting. I've never looked this forward to the season starting. texanpride

Yeah and we haven't event hit the draft yet. Imagine if they draft as well as there free agency is going.

All I have to say is, if the Moulds trade goes through, IMO this past offseason has been better than the last 4 offseasons combined as far as free agency goes.

oh theres no doubt about that, this staff is trying to make this a good team in a hurry unlike capers and co, trying to build through the draft !

We don't need another OL, we've got the draft and way less holes to fill now!

PS: Why would people be surprised if we gave up more than a 4th? We gave up a 2nd AND 3rd to get PBurnt.

It was great being on for all this time and getting live updates from you guys and the bottom line. But now it's time to get some sleep. I hope to wake up and the new name for this topic to be "Moulds traded to the Texans".

Hmmm...maybe they could pull one more O-lineman out of free agency. Is that asking too much?

I see it coming in the draft, I see us drafting Bush, one offensive lineman, and some DB's.

I think this signing is going to do it for us.......but then again, you never know. I remember that thread on how the Texans weren't doing anything in free agency this year......look at them now.

With Moulds, our offense will be amazing if we have really fixed the O-line.

That is the key to our season. If it winds up being fixed, look for a reasonably good season (8-8?). If not fixed, it won't matter who we have brought in in the skill position as we won't be able to do anything with them. Still need a RG and a RT that are young and probably a RG who is a June 1 cut from another team to get enough talent and depth on the O-line. Sure like what we have done this offseason though.

u and me both.

I think the line will be much better than last season, especially with Flanagan centering the rock and McKinney back where he belongs.

if casserly pulls this off he will have done the one thing he has needed to do for the past 3 years...has anyone else started to see the picture here that maybe it wasn't casserly but it was capers unwillingness to go after free agents that has stunted the growth of this franchise

Glad someone mentioned this... In '02 when Capers was hired he stated. "I made the mistake in Carolina of building the team via free agency, We were good but for only a 2 year span. If I had it to do over again I would have built more through the draft." Maybe the Carolina job scared him out of goin after free agents and gambling on players in the draft.

I was just thinking the same thing!! I couldn't agree with you more!!

I like the agressive turnaround apprach as long as we build depth in the draft. not just fill the needs we have left.... Patriots have quality depth... we need FA to start with but prospects eventually have to fill those shoes.

You might think more about the little wimps that worry about the fact Foley is a Charger not a Bill.

You are thinking of Jeff Posey.. And yes He has done pretty well.

there were 2 good ones we let go,,,,steve foley and jeff posey,,,, ok i could be wrong i've been  a lil bit but i think thats right

many said this offseason was going slow, this has been the best TEXAN offseason ever. Who would of thought we would fill the RDE, TE, C, #2WR, MLB, with a solid starter at all positions.

Our biggest needs right now would be RT and FS in my opinion. We can basically go BPA for the entire draft.

Houston's local NBC affiliate is now chiming in on this. Well sorta it's basically stuff we have already heard but here is the link none the less:

http://www.click2houston.com/randysblog/index.html

and being this was uploaded onto their site after midnight tonight I guess we will be hearing more about this today hopefully because as he said: "More tonight on KPRC Local 2 Sports at 10".

i hope we get moulds, i mean some are not to thrilled cause of his age but he would be a good addition to our team he can still be a 1,000 yrd reciever, and he would be the 2nd best WR we have IMO. plus its a big name signing like everyone wanted. It will honestly give our passing game a boost. and make AJ more productive as well !

The only position that I would still like to see an addition at is #2 corner. Maybe the staff thinks that P-Burnt can fill the role, or maybe Faggins will be able to, but personally I wouldn't mind seeing a veteran at the position. Even if Dunta is a pretty good corner throughout the league, our other side is so difficult to respect that it doesn't really matter.

I think it's more of the Quality of player that we've been going after in FA. Capers to me, seemed like he was taking chances, and gambling in FA, and the Draft, where now, it looks like we are going after more proven players.

Because of Wade HUGE signing bonus, trading him will make us eat an enormous cap hit

This, IMHO is the biggest Casserly problem. Yeah, he is a coaches GM, but he makes the deals. We aren't in cap hell, but some of our positions limit what we can & can't do. Yeah, it takes $$ to get the big name players to Houston, at least that's what we thought before this year. He's bringing in ProBowlers, for fair value....... maybe a little rich, but nothing like he's done in the past.

Buchanon, is in the same boat as Wade. He is on this team for at least another year, till his cap hit comes down. He'll get every opportunity to start, and prove that he can earn his money.

Buchanon's cap number is somewhere in the 800k range, with around $6,000 of that counting as bonus money...We could cut him and only have to eat $6,000...

I know, I expected John and Lance to be all over this on 610....never mentioned it in the first 20 minutes before I had to come into work.

A trade deal has to be worked out first with Buffalo. What if there asking price is just too high?

They have no leverage. We could offer them nothing and they will still have to cut him.

I think we'll get him for a 5th round pick.
