The Texans may have to make a decision soon. A few high schools may be ready to offer a job to Josh McCown.Damn, guess we will know either way this week who our leading candidate is.
It's weird. I believe the anti-Bieneimy crowd would be all in on him...if Watson didn't advocate for him. Anti-Bieniemy = Anti-Watson.
Funny how we're the only team who didn't hire a HC before Conference Championship weekend. I wonder what those coaches are doing now. Why is it that,it seems, teams want their HC in place so early.I’m concerned that he has interviewed for three years now and never been hired as a HC.
& how much is Mahomes & how much is Kelce & how much is Hill. I 100% agree you here. Too many reasons for KC's success. Kind of like NE coaches without Brady.I’m concerned about how much is EB and how much is Reid
Agreed, 100%I am saying that there are a lot of red flags and I’m not sure he has shown enough to give me that warm and fuzzy feeling about him as our new HC.
They had a zoom meeting with the guy. How can they possibly know for sure this is the guy they want?
Well, if you're running an organization and you have a key vacancy, why wait to hire someone to fill that vacancy when you have interviewed/vetted a handful of very qualified candidates?Funny how we're the only team who didn't hire a HC before Conference Championship weekend. I wonder what those coaches are doing now. Why is it that,it seems, teams want their HC in place so early.
Yes. I specifically stated as much. And you're asking about how much of the Kansas City Chiefs is Kelce, Hill, and Mahomes. Same question can be asked of the Patriots with Caserio and Brady.
Yes. This is my retort to the “Why hasn’t Bieniemy been hired before.” His team has reached the AFCCG the last three seasons. Teams don’t like to wait this long. The Texans are behind the curve. They've dragged their feet once again.
I think Leslie Frazier is the favorite for the Texans’ job. And the Bills’ defensive coordinator, as I see it, is exactly what Houston needs—a sort of adult in the room. I also know that Frazier feels good enough about it to the point that he’s assembled the foundation of a coaching staff (I’d heard Marcus Brady was on it, but he comes off the table now, with the Colts having promoted him from QB coach to offensivecoordinator). Now, whether the Texans go through with a full second round of interviews (Eric Bieniemy is still in the mix for the job, too) remains to be seen. And maybe how Sunday went will have an effect on that. But if Frazier gets the job, I really think it’s a good example of how an organization backing a candidate can help. Bills co-owner Kim Pegula felt so strongly about Frazier that she planned to bring him with her to the league’s annual meeting last year (before it was canceled) to get him in front of owners so they could see what she did. Similarly, the coaches, scouts and everyone else seem to be rooting for him here. Which says something about who the guy is. We’ll see where it goes, but good on the Bills for going to bat for Frazier—there’s a reason why that place is becoming one where people want to work.
Who is illionaire?
For some reason teams don’t want to wait until after Super Bowl weekend to hire a HC.Some suggesting we will hire loser of chiefs vs bills. Loser team signs losing HC. Why Can't we get it the running car? I know let's hide in the cemetery! Tell bieneimy you're going to hire him and then announce it when you can.

Main reason I’ve been speculating Bieniemy has not been hired before. Heck this year everyone but the Texans hired their HC before championship weekend.
So I’ve just been speculating we’ll hire whoever lost.
49ers - Kyle Shanahan
Colts - Frank Reich
Lions - Matt Patricia
Dolphins - Brian Flores
Were all hired the day after the their teams were in the SB..
If I remember correctly I've seen the suggestion of hiring the loser outside of this MB.For some reason teams don’t want to wait until after Super Bowl weekend to hire a HC.

It should matter to the players who the HC is. If Easterby's influence is inside the locker room, though, maybe it really won't matter. And from what I've read and heard, Easterby is very much a presence with the players. He has a lot of contact with them. Some may like him in their business (see Charles O.), others may not.Does it really matter who they hire with Easterby in McNair's ear and Casserio running decisions through them. Same old dog and pony show.

I dislike how the media is trying to force the Texans to make a minority hire for HC just because all but one of the other teams who hired HC's did not. How about they butt out and let McNair/Caserio hire who they want to hire.

Absolutely ridiculous.
So... we’re waiting on Spags?“With some good authority, it probably won’t be Eric Bieniemy.” - John Lopez
“I heard the same thing before the AFC championship game. I heard Eric Bieniemy as head coach of the Texans is a longshot.” - Landry Locker
Clint Stoerner just had KC analyst Danon Hughes on talking about Bienemy basically being as I described. Stoerner commented that he didn't think Bienemy would work here because of the brass here not being able to control him. Hughes' response was 'how's that working for you' in regards to hiring people in their comfort zone. Makes me want Bienemy all the more. Frazier was milquetoast in Minnesota and I'm afraid that he's going to be the hire because of his amenable personality.Who interviews for the biggest job of their life while eating? I know it's not much to go on, but when you put it together with the reports that Bienemy doesn't interview well, to me, it points to Bienemy having a 'this is who I am, deal with it' attitude. Doesn't bother me in the least but if that's really true, then it might explain why he hasn't been hired before now. He strikes me as the kind of person that's going to tell it like it is and not be afraid to let ownership what's what. Basically, just what's needed around here if you ask me. Not sure if he can half replicate what's going on up in KC but I don't think that he's any less of a risk than anyone else as far as delivering results.
That's on you then. You know no one's got Jack (no pun intended) over this MB.If I remember correctly I've seen the suggestion of hiring the loser outside of this MB.
6 of one, half dozen of the other. Looking like the best the Texans can do. I doubt either makes it to year 3 of the Easterby Culture Revolution.I'd rather have Marvin Lewis than Leslie Frazier.
Does anyone really believe that? Does Josh McCown interviewed for HC sound like a Caserio idea?meh....now that Casino is in charge (supposedly)...
The Texans put that target there. The Texans have a target on their back.
this what I think I think, but reallyNone of those insiders know. To me it's either EB or Frazier. If they were going to hire Eberflus or Caldwell, they could've done it already. Same with Lewis. Some of these interviews may hay be a look at a staff.
meh....now that Casino is in charge (supposedly) they're letting him do a lot of interviewing. There's still no telling who we'll end up with.
Maybe they'll cave and hire Watson as the OC to placate him. He can keep Tim Kelly as his assistant.
The Texans put that target there.
That was set up only as a dry run practice interview for Caserio.Does anyone really believe that? Does Josh McCown interviewed for HC sound like a Caserio idea?

Sure, even Cal isn't stupid enough to make that hire. But, why publicize it? It is sending a message. A message that Jack is still here, doing Jack things. That was set up only as a dry run practice interview for Caserio.
Have as many chilled out black dudes as possible?McClain
-I’d like to see them if they hire Frazier, hire Caldwell as assistant HC, keep Romeo Crennel on staff
Unless I am missing something, Frazier is only available as a HC, not DC or assistant HC.
I would tell them I'm a Big Jack Easterby fan..If I'm Bienemy and they ask who my assistant coaches are going to be, I tell em Frazier will be my DCoordinator. That should impress em.
I gotta admit, some of those plays Bieniemy was running were works of art. & the way you'd see the "same" play ran out of different personel packages had me thinking the Texans could do some of that.the idea of Daboll or Frazier getting the job, seeing as both were just thoroughly outclassed by the team running the AFC for the next few years
