Hooker has a chance to be special too. That's why I want Caserio to draft him.

Please explainTrue and Stroud's me over the team type guy. You can't win a championship with your QB's agent.
Why, because of the cap.
I have a thread discussing this
This guy at QB School does a great job if you ever want to watch analysis's of QBs
Please explain
So tell me the solution of not drafting or having a franchise level qb. You were at 13.5, now you're at 15. Whats the next bar to change? We've been through this 1000 times.
No QB since the cap was implemented in 1994 has won a championship when taking up more than 15% of the cap.
Stroud is going to want a new deal after 3 yrs. That shortens the window to win a championship.
I have a thread discussing this
What is the % at other positions that restrict a team from winning the sb? What about lt,de,cb, etc..?What's the name of the thread.
I like Levis tools, but he's got to learn how to get through his progressions and improve taking care of the ball.
Pass at 1-2.

Tell me how Allen and Mahomes agent short circuited their ability to win a championship. See, my disagreement in this entire 13.5% is its not the 13.5 glass ceiling you try to place on the situation, its the ignoring the fact that a championship game or superbowl appearence has 0 to do with the percentage. Manning didn't lose to the Seagawks because he was taking up 13.5 of the cap. Matt Ryan losing a 28-3 lead had nothing to do with the % either. Rodgers losing in the championship game to go to the superbowl had nothing to do with his cap number either. It was more about coaching and execution vs 13.5 %. We will never agree because we can find any position and see what their cap percent was and make a byline and say x is taking up this % of cap. I'm back out the rabbit hole. When the QB takes up too much cap space they dont have the ability to put teams around the QB. Look at this year, Rodgers/Wilson/Kyler etc.. are sitting at home because of this. But hey they got paid.
The QB because he's the highest paid player on the team is the baseline for this. You dont see a trend?

So now the nfl along with the officials are going to rig a game? How many championships have they won since they went over 15%?
This yr I think is going to finally be the yr hat the ceiling is broken through. Why? Because I think the NFL is going to rig things so the Bills win the SB this yr. But it will be an anomaly if it happens.
So now the nfl along with the officials are going to rig a game?
What happened when the Saints had the ball 1st?It's happened before.
Saints vs Rams
There have been others, just not as obvious.
What happened when the Saints had the ball 1st?
As a first round pick, he's under contract for 4 years with a 5th year option. The 3rd, 4th & 5th years should be prime years, then we start over with a new QB, which we should draft in year 5 and another QB in year 6.We've been through this 1000 times.

Except Stroud's agent forces teams to renegotiate after yr 3.As a first round pick, he's under contract for 4 years with a 5th year option. The 3rd, 4th & 5th years should be prime years, then we start over with a new QB, which we should draft in year 5 and another QB in year 6.
How? Just don't accept any contact from him.Except Stroud's agent forces teams to renegotiate after yr 3.

It's not that I'm a pushover, it's that Cal"s a pushover.You're such a pushover
No and no and maybe, but it may take a couple years. Young is used to playing in a phone booth. Stroud mostly plays in a clean pocket and had great receivers who were open.Questions for our QB savvy pundits - has Bryce Young already hit his ceiling?
Has CJ Stroud - and can he raise his game in the NFL?
So Bryce didn't have any wrs to throw to when he won the Heisman huh? Nor rbs either? No and no and maybe, but it may take a couple years. Young is used to playing in a phone booth. Stroud mostly plays in a clean pocket and had great receivers who were open.
All football teams have WR's and RB's, although you do sometime go with an empty backfield. So no and no.So Bryce didn't have any wrs to throw to when he won the Heisman huh? Nor rbs either?
I find it annoying when the talking heads always claim that so-so is going to stay another year to avoid X team from drafting him because X team is so bad. No shiii! The reason a team has the first overall pick or even top 5 is because they were bad. If you’re the top pick and really are everything the mainstream media raves about, chances are, you’re going to a bad team. Another thing, if a player is as good as the media claims, he should be the one that turns it around right? The good teams are not going to mortgage their future (because they’re good for a reason) just to go get that one player that may or may not pan out.Reasons to leave early:
1. Average signing bonus for top 5 pick: $25 million. Which is more than $3 million.
2. The NFL has the draft every year. If you don't like the teams at the top of the draft this year, next year's teams could be just as bad. Or worse.
What may hurt Alabama's Bryce Young in NFL draft - and it's not height, analyst says | Goodbread
Will Alabama football quarterback Bryce Young's size hurt his NFL draft status? Here's what one analyst said Fridaywww.yahoo.com

Yeah his frame will always be something to consider and with our Oline, he will be on the run a lot so he is going to be hit and fallen upon. What may hurt Alabama's Bryce Young in NFL draft - and it's not height, analyst says | Goodbread

You're going to talk yourself out of every player. What did the Bears GM tell Lance? Focus on what the player can do. Bryce Young is a magician. Defenses can't scheme for what he can do to them.I'm done with all the risky draftees the Texans seem to have a penchant for.
No argument there, but the competition is faster and bigger every week for 17 weeks or more in the NFL and our line is suspect. You're going to talk yourself out of every player. Right. But he didn't play well. When has "playing behind a bad line" been the criteria for drafting a QB? Let's get the better QB and improve the OL.Otoh, Will Levis already has experience behind a weak line
The point is how much better would Levis be behind that improved line?Right. But he didn't play well. When has "playing behind a bad line" been the criteria for drafting a QB? Let's get the better QB and improve the OL.

You'd think they would have learned how to stop itMidget magic tricks?
Defenses have been scheming for QB's with Young's skillset for 50 yrs.

Watching Mahomes against the Jags, Young is the only QB of the top 3 who can make plays like this. You'd think they would have learned how to stop it

Is Mahomes a midget?And Mahomes is hurt…
He could have been 6'4" 250lbs on that play and results would be the sameIs Mahomes a midget?

I don't know why posters are knocking this kid. Look at his ball placement on those shoulder throws. They're on the proper shoulder for the wr to make the catch and turn. That's called accuracy.Okay, here's a highlight reel of Stroud - yeah yeah I know it's only the highlights but as I have said elsewhere, it shows what he is capable of and improve on areas of weakness.
About half of the throws were open and the other half with defenders either contesting or very close to the receiver and I counted 6 different ones and most he threw open or into the end zone.
He throws either left or right shoulder to all areas of the field and has very good accuracy on his throws over 25 yards.
He can step up into the pocket if it gets muddy, but if you give him a clean pocket, he is deadly.
See what you think.
Yep, if we don’t get him the Colts will.I don't know why posters are knocking this kid. Look at his ball placement on those shoulder throws. They're on the proper shoulder for the wr to make the catch and turn. That's called accuracy.
Because only one QB his size and he weighs less than Wilson has ever won a championship. To think some want to draft this guy? SMH, it's like some don't want the Texans to win a championship.I don't know why posters are knocking this kid. Look at his ball placement on those shoulder throws. Yeah he has a good chance to be decent in the NFL.I don't know why posters are knocking this kid. Look at his ball placement on those shoulder throws. They're on the proper shoulder for the wr to make the catch and turn. That's called accuracy.
