More like Grigson got let go and the new GM, as is common, brought in his own people.
Did you check the players that were signed as FA's by the Colts? That fell under Raye's per view.

Done because you won't admit you honestly have no idea. Raye never made the selections here or in Indy. The GMs did.

Anything else? Lots of good people get fired in the NFL. Ever heard of Bill Belichick?
I very much hope this continues, so that the silliness of this is ------'s guy and just praise or blame the organization for what it puts out there. That said, BOB O'Gaine treated free agency and the draft as a unit with a long-term vision (and job security) versus just quick fixing.

How is it you think you know his evaluations and recommendations under RS or Grigson?
And you know that how?
Your post seems as certain as his.
(Which is to say you don't know.) The common factor however is Raye so his guess has more substance then yours.
I wonder about you cak and your motives here. What's the agenda?
You stalk specific posters. Do you do that for ego sake?
Are you deliberately stirring controversy to get more run on the site?
Are you using this site as some rehearsal for the courtroom conflicts you endure?
Maybe your just OCD?
Your a worldly guy with knowledge on a variety of topics and I often like your hard logic. You just refuse to accept sometimes people have opposing opinions to you.
Oddly, your the best and worst part of this site.
Take a break. Relax.
Comparing Raye to Belichick. I think you just jumped the shark.

Some posters go outside the knowledge box as lot.
And now we can move on to talking about the thread topic.

Some posters consider chance outside of fact. Some poster speculate. SPECULATE.
Let them.
I enjoy conspiracy as much as I enjoy fact. Either way It's entertainment. Let it go.
Stop dropping responses like it's the end all.
I'm not worked up at all and I'm sorry you think that I am .
Difference is I just don't feel like discussing this crap anymore and would rather see responses about Gaine and how posters feel that he's done in this off-season .
You're out of alignment.I think that Gaine's getting too much credit for great draft choices that RSmith never would have made -- cuz you know, Rick Smith sucks. If you have a coach that doesn't know what kind of offense they want to run because that coach thinks he's a qb guru that can turn anyone into TB2 -- how exactly is that the GM's fault for not finding players to fit an unknown scheme? Gaine showed up at the perfect time to get all the credit -- we have a franchise qb that is able to operate a defined offense with known skillsets to fit that scheme. I just think this has been oversimplified to RSmith sucks and Gaine is great because he know what BOB wants. BOB didn't even know what BOB wanted 'til Watson showed up.

Doed BOB really know what he wants?
I may be wrong, but although it's been said that they want to keep Watson in the pocket, I have a feeling that this "new offense" is going to be leaning towards the spread-option. In that type of offense, there's much less need to have the TE to take on any difficult blocking assignments.Doed BOB really know what he wants? He's apparently building a new offense that doesn't need the TE to block
This may sound stupid (probably is), but I almost get the feeling that the team is being built in spite of O'Brien. The key players are Watson, Crennel and Gaine. Give Watson as many weapons as possible, while placating O'Brien with what he thinks he knows from New England - a bunch of TE's that he can try to recreate Hernandez and Gronk. Get Crennel his safeties that Smith kept missing on. And Gaine filling holes on special teams and depth to support the other two. We did nothing for the run game and didn't focus on the offensive line, areas where coaching and playcalling would be paramount.
I think Ricky got fired for failing to get along w/ BOB (when BOB couldn't find a qb to save his life). They finally got their qb and McNair knew the 2 of them couldn't work together so he canned RSmith (right decision IMO). This is why I don't think you're giving McNair enough credit in his commitment to winning. #GodfathergotcannedRicky sucks for this reason, he was there for over a decade and really didn't try to correct the qb position. When McNair directed him to find a qb he failed miserably. Then happened to hit on his next shot at a qb, but got fired for failing to protect him properly.
There's a reason Ricky is not here anymore and y'all can try to spin the Ricky's got a raw deal all y'all want. But after a decade of evidence Ricky was a mediocre GM at best. So if Gaine is successful in spite of ownership giving Ricky credit just will prove that some will always see what they want to see.
Smh

And you know darn well no team will give a boot head coach power in his first few years.
Shoots even Smith didn't have any pull until Kubiak was out the door.
But Rick still has a job with the Texans. So technically he got demoted.

The biggest difference is Gaine and BOB are on the same page

I'd put Smith as a huge reason Kubiak was shown the door. Not that a hurricane and record breaking bad luck with Schaub and Wade (fewest turnovers) didn't help, but I think the defining part of the mess we ran into was when the power scale tipped from Kubiak's football to Rick/McNair's ignorance. Hell one starts to wonder what talent Kubiak and Wade would have had to work with if not for Rick in the first place.

Kubiak and Wade did win a Super Bowl with the Broncos shortly after getting fired here so...
Kudos to Kubiak and Wade, but their impact on the personnel was minimum. They took over and team that was ready to win a championship and to their credit, they didn't let a great opportunity slip away.
Kubiak's stubbornness is what cost him his job. McNair told him to start Case and what did he do, sent Matt back out there.I'd put Smith as a huge reason Kubiak was shown the door. That team was fully loaded both sides of the ball. It's not like they put that team together.
What did they do after that, what get fired?
Both coaches had the talent here to win. But that epic collapse end their tenure here quickly.

2-14
I really don't understand why some fans try to use that as if it really meant something.
Kubiak and Wade CREATE a top rated offense and defense (Rick Smith GM). They win 12 games, but without their quarterback and poor depth can't advance. They are such horrible coaches that they only win 2 games the next season. 2 years later they use our entire coaching staff to win a Superbowl WITHOUT the 5000yd passer and redesign Fox's defense to include about 100 linebackers. And lest we forget, Kubiak took the Broncos to the playoffs with BROCK OSWEILER.
So, where are the differences? Hint: 'Owner tells head coach to start hometown favorite rookie QB' is a bit of a giveaway.
I'm still cracking up at the folks who declared Kubiak (a) would never be HC again and (b) was incapable of winning a SB. Instead of "taking someone else's team" he and Wade took a Depends wearing Manning & get thee out of here Oz and won.
Had they won the previous year with Manning lighting it up I'd agree. Instead - Shiloh Keo, Antonio Smith and Owen Daniels all had meaningful plays late in the playoffs (and Superbowl). Wade finally got what Kubiak had been trying to give to his previous DC's. The Denver defense seemed to have 15 linebackers on the field at the same time because he is the singular master of teaching/coaching the front 7. Kubiak won with no offensive line, a broken Manning, BROCK OSWEILER, and a rushing attack lead by below average backs Tillman and Anderson.
Funny thing is Kubiak wanted Vance Joseph to be his DC and the Bengals wouldn't let Joseph out of his contract so Kubiak settled on Wade as his DC and the rest is history.
While I agree with everything he's saying...doesn't most of that stuff belong to the coaches, not the GM?5 min video from Gaine:
