2015 Texans Talk Mock Draft SELECTION

I'm a fan of Big Ced. I don't make excuses for A&M's overall poor play in that last three game stretch with Kenny Hill, but it seemed like the entire team gave up on Kenny around that time. There's rumors floating around about possible substance abuse issues that may have led to the team losing confidence in Kenny.

When Kyle Allen came in the next few games, the entire team played much better and rallied around their new QB.

A&M also let the O-line coach go and hired Dave Christensen. I think Ced is very raw but with proper coaching can become a great RT for someone's team.

Thanks for the info.

The only thing I know is Mike Sherman knows OL and how to develop them. Ced's best days are ahead of him if he's willing to work hard.

I compare him to when the Texans drafted OkOye, the talent is there, how much work is he willing to put into it?

Hah, was waiting to see if you pulled this off in the 2nd or gambled waiting for the 3rd.

I get why you did what you did, but do you think he will drafted round 2 or round 3 come draft day(s)?

If you think hr's the best QB in the draft you take him and don't worry about what the draftniks think. (Excluding Winston.) Elway/Kubiak draft him in the 2nd if he falls.

Can't fault going for a new X.

I have an Agholor fetish, but the fans would've boo'd my choice. :tomato:

My preference would be Agholor, can play multiple positions and KR/PR. Randall Cobb?

Sorry I don't know how to multi quote.

Love how the draft is going. If your not gettingwho you thought you were going to get, that means everybody is doing a great job.

Sorry I don't know how to multi quote.

Just to the right of the quote button is a button with a quotation mark in front of what looks like a page of paper. Each post you want to respond to, click that button. Then hit the reply button or the quote button on one of them. They will all then come up quoted in one reply.

I think you should make a video of it for proper instruction and make it mandatory watching to all who progress to the no spin zone or nfsw zone

:kitten:

If anythig this exercise is revealing what teams may need to do in order to hit their targets. Well done by everyone so far, really competant work :texflag:

This is a very interesting take on Kubiak's qb of the future. I think this could really work.

Thanks, I really struggled with this one. I actually had a corner before and after Hundley on my board for the Broncos at this spot but they both got nabbed before my pick.

I just don't know how Kubiak feels about Osweiler but this seemed like a good spot and a good time to get a high-quality replacement for Manning and a good situation for Hundley to get some polish and mentoring before being thrown into the fray.

Great pick. My favorite Safety in the draft. He can line up in the slot and play man or he can play zone over the deep half. Great athlete with good ball skills and range. Underrated tackler too. Only downside is he is a tad undersized and has a lean frame that won't carry much more weight. That doesn't really bother me though when you take his ability/skill-set into account. He's not a box player so his size isn't that big of a deal to me.

thanks, obviously your opinion carries a lot of weight for me, if I touch that base I consider mission accomplished. To others he is actually a Florida kid, who took a baseball route then worked his way late into football. Supreme athlete, 27 more solo tackles than Landon Collins, despite almost identical overall tackles which means he can play in space or on an island, interchangeable with Malcolm Jenkins to mix & match different packages. Models his game after Reed/Elam heavy Florida influence.

Man, that run on Corners really killed me. I was starting to think one of those three guys was going to make it to New England. And then poof, all of them gone in a flurry.

With pick #57 of the 2nd Rd the Carolina Panthers Select Byron Jones CB Connecticut (6-1, 199, 4.42, rSR)

That's good value there. I saw some "expert" mocks showing him sneaking to the Patriots at #32.

Good point.

Lucky updated the pick list. (Thanks)

3rd round has been posted. (See URL in signature)

Edit: I added all 7 rounds per NFL.com's draft tracker. Just need to add the Texans Talk member names for rounds 4-7.

What this tells me is in the real draft if you want a top rated CB in the 2nd and you're a team like the Pats you're going to have to trade up. This is why I love doing this mock. I believe it gives a true representation of where players may go and I compare where players go and to which teams in relation to where they're picked in this mock.

Great job guys, we have the best group of draftniks out there. By comparison y'all should checkout the cluster**** that is the mock draft over at HT .com. It really makes me appreciate you guys.

The Colts select Ali Marpet, OG/OC, from Hobart.

The Colts desperately need o-line help, starting from the inside out. However they have a strong enough team to be willing to take some risks. Marpet is far from a sure thing, but I believe his potential upside helps raise the Colts o-line to a more competitive level. Definitely a risky pick though.

Very talented guy. If he played at Alabama he would be picked in the 1st rd. May take him time to develop though.

Yeah, I agree on the development time. I have a really hard time pegging where he's going to go in the draft. He looks good but watching tape only helps so much on him cause it's all DIII talent. I wanted to grab him now cause I like him and I'm high on him, but I thought there might be a legitimate chance he makes it to the Colts 3rd rounder. Where do you think the right spot for him is?

3 (65) Buccaneers (htownfan32) -- on the clock 10:00am-2:00pm
3 (66) Titans (NCTexan) -- on deck
3 (67) Jaguars (PHILLYTEXANFAN) -- in the hole
3 (68) Raiders (RT22) --

2nd round completed. This thing has picked up some steam. I would like to get half of the 3rd round done today if possible. Dont Forget: Weekends: Clock stops. Picks can still be made.

Seattle gets their new starting center.

Still worried about Funchess (or Fungus, as my Michigan Football loving father-in-law endearingly calls him) if people put him on the outside. Now if NE sticks him at TE I think he can do some damage.

Let's get the third round underway.

The Tampa Bay Bucs decide to replace Mason Foster who left in FA with the talented ILB from Miss State, Benardrick McKinney.

He'd be perfect for the Hernandez/flex TE role. Wish the Texans had an extra 2nd round pick to take him.

Titans select Steven Nelson, CB, Oregon State. Titans struggled replacing Alterraun Verner, and though they signed Perrish Cox, it's important to have a young guy developing. He's a bit undersized, but should be able to contribute some minutes in nickel to build technique and confidence before lining him up outside in future seasons. Reports state he is an incredibly hard worker and I'm willing to give up a bit of size to get that.

NCTexan throwing down with a couple of sneaky good picks.

Seattle replaces a second round pick from Oregon with another. I actually think Grasu is a similar player to Unger too.

He'd be perfect for the Hernandez/flex TE role. Wish the Texans had an extra 2nd round pick to take him.

In my estimation, the Patriots are probably most capable of utilizing Funchess' skill set. I don't think he's a full time move TE, but I think he can switch between there and slot WR depending on matchups.

Marpet wasn't going to get to the Colts 3rd round pick in this draft, I can assure you. In the actual draft, maybe. He has a ton of upside, but is a total projection. I think he goes early to mid 3rd in the real draft.

Glad to know you think he wouldn't have made it! I had a hard time predicting everyone else's value of Marpet since he has such a small amount of tape against quality opponents.

Thanks!

Man I sure hope the Tinnbreds don't draft as well as you have for them
