2015 Texans Talk Mock Draft SELECTION

Great article

Now I can see why you have Lippett rated like you do. (And BB)

This is the reason I like doing the TT mock draft. I keep up with prospects more than most people do. I don't understand why people value some players more than I do. The TT Mock Draft gives me a good feeling of what other people who really keep up with prospects, like you and the others are thinking.

Thanks

Btw, props to our participants for keeping this thing going through the weekend. We built up a lot of momentum on THU/FRI. Glad to see it keep going through the down period.

That was my next choice for the Cardinals.
I considered Carter at the Bears pick, but felt the value was at WR. I think this mock does a great job of reflecting the reality of the NFL. Passing the football and stopping the pass. WRs, Tackles, pass rushers, and DBs. They are going fast because that's what this league values.

I've got TPN's Denver picks. PM me if I'm on the clock and off the forum.

Bastard.

With the 91st pick the Cowboys take T.J. Yeldon. Was debating him anyway so thanks for making that easy.

Man I like Yeldon. Good vision, instincts, balance. Doesn't look 6'1 226, but he can run behind his pads a bit in traffic. Not much breakaway speed, but can glide himself into open lanes for big chunks. Reminds of Arian Foster.

I would say that Yeldon is a better selection for a team looking for a workhorse back (Dallas). Duke makes me think change of pace back with his 5'9" frame.

That's was my debate. Not size, the Cowboys were defined for a while by a 205 lb RB. But Yeldon looks like an attack the hole every down back rather than an attack the edge back.

Anyway, I think good need and value at this point.

Colts select Lorenzo Mauldin, OLB, Louisville. The Colts have a pretty good OLB rotation going into next year, but it is old with Mathis (34), Cole (32), and Walden (29). While there are areas of bigger need, Mauldin's value is too good at the end of the 3rd round to let him pass.

The Green Bay Packers select Marcus Hardison - DL, Arizona State

Packers need to add depth up front, but specifically need to boost the pass rush. Hardison is a versatile and athletic pass rusher that has the size and strength to play 5' tech at the next level. He has the ability to rush the passer from multiple positions.

A HS QB, he switched to DL late in his career and was an all-conference player at Dodge City Community College before transferring to Arizona State where he initially redshirted and played special teams while backing up Will Sutton. He started as a senior and had a breakout campaign with 15 TFL, 10 Sacks, 3 FF, and 2 INT and was named all-conference.

He weighed in at 6-3, 307 and lifted 27 bench reps at the Combine while running a 4.91 forty, 4.52 shuttle, and 7.33 cone drill at his Pro Day. His shuttle time is on par with Leonard Williams and Arik Armstead while his cone drill is on par with Owamagbe Odighizuwa and Trey Flowers (DE's that weight 40 lbs less than him).

Titans need some serious Safety help after last year, when they had some of the worst safeties in the league. Signing Da'Norris Searcy is a positive step, but the issues here are deeper than that. With that said the Titans select James Sample, S, Louisville.

Sample needs to work on his coverage, but shows well in zone at the present. In addition he is a willing tackler, and good at keeping his eye on the ball. The main worry here is the lack of games at a top competitive level, but in round 4 he is well worth the risk.

This pick lines up biggest remaining need and one of my BPA remaining so I'm very much down with this pick and surprised he lasted to round 4.

There is a definite lack of quality safeties in this draft, and the need is almost across the board for many teams and I think that if I don't strike now I will definitely regret it.

With the 105th overall pick in the NFL draft, the Skins select:

Jaquiski Tartt – SS – Samford
