2007 Member Mock Draft

I dont mind the picks at all....I actually think the Lions WOULD consider CJ at #2....just like the Texans would possibly consider a DL in round 1 this year

whether CJ is the right football move doesn't matter- DET has to come out with a QB. they either take quinn or trade down (with someone who wants CJ) and take troy smith or, perhaps, colt brennan. but they have to get a QB.

i agree re: HOU though- no way alan branch gets past 8. of course, i think branch goes to TB at 4, and thomas to ARI at 5. i thought those were lock picks.

welp folks, i had to make the decision:

with the 8th pick, the houston texans select: Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame. BPA. ;)

uh...i'm on the clock.

I think that pick was made out of spite.....

Sorry I missed my pick....

I was actually going to pick Reggie Nelson....

Im not sure if ppl are PM'ing him the picks or if he is just deciding who goes where about every 20 mins....it says 12 hr time slot, so I hope that he isnt just picking who he wants to get the going because before the nite is over the first round is gonna be finished and it will be pretty lame if he selected most players....might as well just make a mock of his own

On my pick, I had to leave the office, so I PM'd him my pick. It would move faster if everyone did this. Skins need D help big time, so a DT was my choice.

i'll make a side bet with you ginn isn't a top-3 WR drafted.

this draft has the best collection of talent at WR i've ever seen.

DE is a much higher need for the fins.
DE isn't a need at all. we got jason taylor, kevin carter and matt roth. we're just fine for now. there's no DE there worthy enough of the pick anyway. our biggest needs are CB, OL, WR, OLB, DT. pretty much in that order.

you just keep sucking up the hype machine garbage.... year in.... year out...
you think i just follow "hype?" that's it? if that were true, i would've been off the brady quinn bandwagon a long time ago, because right now, there's only a handful of people who think he's the best QB in the draft.

DE/DT was my actual thought, and taylor may well retire. roth is more an OLB type. i'm happy to wait and prove you wrong :)

roth is a 2-gap DE. he's there to plug up the weak side and put pressure on the QB occasionally. he's too slow to be an OLB. he's also played DT in nickel/dime situations.

doesn't really matter how much you've followed roth if you don't understand how his abilities translate to the NFL. i've followed him too, and i had him as a first round prospect in '05. but certainly not at OLB.

your right on with your analysis. nice player & the one often compared to Jason Babin when he came out who some failed evaluation scouting/drafting NFL war-room projected as a 3-4 OLB :pigfly:

I thought we were supposed to get 12 hours...

Seems like I was given something like 12 minutes before Quinn was forced down my throat...

It was not made out of spite . Simply a function of the highest value pick for the spot. We waited on you longer than the others. So now we'll have to wait untill the snake wakes up again. It'll start moving again. There's no hurry is there ? Only so many DC threads you can start. Or stand to read.

There was a lot of banging on the wagon master to get it moving along. The posts are in there. Be nice to hang the first round up by Sunday night.

Fixed it...

Thanks now ya have time to start another DC thread in the bull pen.

Oh that's right, you never start them...just pile on. Be a lot worse things in my life than to be called Kats mouth piece. Better than being in the weeds back stabber.

Thanks for paying attention...

OK, I just saw that and didn't bother to read thru all the 12 pages of posts to find that exact one, after the first couple pages I gave up, my apologies, although I wouldn't like Reggie Nelson there either. That is a retarded pick for us.

P.S. Why the hell would Pittsburgh take Marshawn Lynch in the 1st round with Willie Parker on the roster?

Since you are such the expert and all...

Who would you pick ?

And I realize that you just left that little nasty comment because you felt foolish....

Quinn is a retarded pick for us. I don't like Nelson at this point but at least that pick has some semblance of intelligence to it, maybe I'll like him better if he has an outstanding workout compared to Landry and Griffin but I like the way both of them play better.

Among the players available on this mock Leon Hall would be my pick, LaRon Landry a close 2nd.

Uh, because now they have a dynamic duo? They need to take the pressure off of Big Ben, but needed a CB, and those were taken up real quick...

Besides, it was my pick and I think it was a good one, thank you very much...

Willie Parker had almost 1500 yards and 13 TDs this year, they aren't going to use a 1st round pick to add another player to that. If they do get a RB somewhere, they'd get a bigger back later to have a change of pace/short yardage back that complements Parker, so if they were to take a RB they'd probably go for Michael Bush there, but bottom line a team that finished 8-8 and that has a RB that puts up 1500 yards and 13 TDs is not going to take a RB in the 1st round, but as you said you were the temporary GM of the Steelers. If only we could get you hired there in real life...

I agreed with the pick...thought it was a good one. When they won the superbowl Parker was the change of pace back...seems like they play better when they have a talented change of pace guy.

Just asking.

sorry, didnt mean to snap at you, I am just frustrated that people are seemingly unwilling to give people the 12 hour window. We all agreed to abide by that rule. If teh rule was it was a live draft and you had 10 mins, thats one thing, but we all knew what we were going in for.

Well I'm pretty sure Kasta picked for at least 4 different people last night. The Quinn selection was definitely not made by Xtruloyaltyx and this thing is a joke anyway. No sense in getting all riled up about it.

I think with the 32nd pick the Chargers just might take Ray Rice....hint, hint...

The last pick, by Texans84, says "13 hours ago". Time to move on. No offense but if you live in Japan and can't get on the board over the weekend, don't sign up for the draft. Can we go ahead and give someone else his pick?

I've got my second round pick locked and loaded :hunter:

Thank you... They lost the bus and now I gave them a taxi... I don't know what the big deal is, it made more sence to take him than for the Texans to take brady quinn, IMHO... :hides:
