Not sure I can make it but in any event, I think you should set a time for the draft with more "draft-like" time limits, say 15 minutes.

yeah i'd rather not have 400 PM's telling me what players someone wants. either be here to draft the guy you want or i'm doing it for you, period.

ok, whenever you want to get started, ..

1. OAK picks jamarcus russell, QB, LSU

i'd like to once again add how "disgusted" i am to have to pick russell over calvin johnson. johnson "deserves" to be the pick here. but both aaron brooks and andrew walter are so indescribably bad, so utterly, indescribably bad, and the franchise is in such a desperate and perilous position, the pick needs to be between russell and quinn.

if the world were more sane, OAK would take CJ and sign a FA QB. but the FA pickings are so slim it is ridiculous. and, you can get a better WR at the top of round 2 (say, meachem who i absolutely love) than you can Qb there.

here is the wildcard: IF OAK is high on colt brennan, and thinks he might be availabel at the top of round 2, OR if OAK trades for david carr (say, their pick at 33), then OAK will take CJ and the draft will take a more "normal" course. and i say "normal" because the thought of DET taking a WR is simply too bizarre for me to buy into otherwise.

aren't we confusing things here? can we start the new draft on a new thread? I've been waiting 6768696069847463526217282928 hours for my pick -

Indianapolis Colts look to shore up a defense that gave up over 150 yards rushing to Ron Dayne.

The Colts select DE/OLB from Purdue, Anthony Spencer.

Highest rated senior LB candidate on Kiper's Big Board. Fort Wayne kid happy to stay in Indiana

3 more to go.

FWIW, this mock is not half bad. Especially considering that it's so early in the process. Nice job, guys.

With the 32nd pick in the 1st round the San Diego Chargers select... Robert Meachem WR Tennesse

Meachem has the size and speed that SD has been lacking in the WR area with the aging McCardell and possesion WR E.Parker. He gives Rivers some big play ability at the WR position which will just add to the overall threat of this prolific offense. While SD would be tempted to go Deffense at this pick the quality LB and Safeties they had their eyes on have already been selected.

Meachem had a breakout year in '06 setting a Tennesse recieving record with 1,298 recieving yards. He caught 71 passes to do so and contributed 11 TDs for his Vols. He made the 1st Team All American in this his junior year after a somewhat dissapointing freshman and sophmore campaign. He is projected to be a late 1st early 2nd round pick.

Man this was fun!!!Lets do the whole first day!!!

Go Chargers beat the Patsies!!!!

100%. i was hoping you'd decide this.

Thank you, as I was doing my research and looking at who had already gone off the board it became pretty easy. For about 1 sec I was tempted to go with Bowe from LSU as he reminds me of McKardell(sp?) a little bit...but Meachem is just a much better fit for this team in my opinion. They need a legitimate homerun threat at WR to complete their ridiculous offense. Plus their defense is already stacked as is. Except for the S position, but I did'nt see anyone worth picking here at that position.:cowboy1:

well i've thought all along they will go WR and i think meachem is the 2nd best one in the draft. if he's somehow there at 32 i think it's a lock.

What are the Board's reactions to the collective first round mock draft? I haven't had time to study it in great detail (yet) but have two immediate observations, (a) Quinn Pitcock was passed over, and he's pretty highly rated in some mocks, and (b) I don't think Aaron Ross is a first round quality CB.

If Brian Brohm declares that'll make the whole QB dance even more interesting -
