We're going to the Playoffs

I've called this a rebuild year but I think now, the rebuild is complete. We're not rebuilding anymore, we are rebuilt. And it only took one season. I'm still wrapping my head around this. What a wild ride it's been.

We are in the next phase. Shore up weaknesses. Build depth. Get healthy. Draw stars in free agency. Improve and innovate.

I ain't scared of nobody. Let's whoop some ass.

It actually took three seasons.

FYI, Colts game plan last night was clearly to try and take shots on the Texans.

Kudos to Amos and Kareem Jackson who kept everything in front of them last night.

Best safety play we have seen this year, and it looks like they finally decided to use Pitre more like a hybrid LB in 3rd downs.

I was wrong on NICO. I didn't think he was a number 1 type of receiver.

The Colts knew they had to stop him last night and couldn't do anything about it. I suspect Nick extends him this offseason and he should. You can't let that man go nuclear next season and then cost the whole farm.

That quick ball to him that he took down the sideline for 30 yards. I thought I was watching Terrell Owens run down the sideline bullying DB's. That was sick.

That was an excellent play. It looked like they had run a similar play on the opposite side to Metchie on the previous series.

The difference was Nico ran with bad intentions turning upfield immediately and Metchie was tentative stutter stepping until the first defender tackled him without much fuss.

Hopefully the team has every WR executing that play call like Nico did next week!

Oddly I don't even care that much about winning division because I'm just so thrilled and happy about winning 10 and most of all just going to play somewhere in the W-C weekend ! Hey don't forget if we take the division we will also get a first-place schedule next year.
Wow does it feel great to be where our team is this morning !

And If that happens it will be Baltimore, again, Chiefs, and more than likely Arlington.
Second place schedule would be Cleveland, Denver and more than likely the Eagles.
The AFC North opponent would be at home. The other two on the road.

I want the division personally. Home Playoff game against the Browns would be LIT.

Cleveland doesn't put the fear of god in me. Yes, they trounced the Texans but Keenum couldn't keep the offense on the field and the injuries were outrageously bad.

Stroud is a franchise changer.

6-1 against winning teams this year.

Demeco Ryan’s game management is ******* incredible. I’m pretty sure our ST coach Frank Harris is a big reason why, but even the small things like running the punter in to the endzone to kill 10 seconds and sure yourself of getting a clean punt off was competency we have never had before.

Is that good hands or accurate passes by the QB ?
Both. I really like how he catches with his hands, if you've noticed. And on that one play last night when Stroud was really under pressure and lofted that floater to that open area on the right side of the field, Collins came all the way across the field from the left and then had to dive to cradle the catch. Wow, what a play on both of them.

This game was like nothing I had ever seen from the Texans before. No one on that football field lost hope. Everyone kept digging deeper and deeper to get that win. Incredible what Demeco has been able to do with these young men. Damnit, I may have to break out my old JJ or Andre jersey for the playoffs.

Does lovie smith deserve a statue ?

I remember people were laughing at me when we were 0-2 .

:fans:
Lovie deserves a kick in the nuts. Getting the 1.2 in the draft last year could've cost the Texans Stroud. There was never any guarantee that Young had to be the 1.1 pick. The Texans just got lucky that the Panthers took Young over Stroud.

Stroud no doubt has had a very impressive season. Wilson doesn't bother pointing that Luck and Hebert accomplished it in a 16 game season. But making it that much more impressive, although this season was a 17 game season, Stroud played in only 15 of those (and the game in which he left the game early concussed with 6'30" still left in the game).

Lovie started Davis Mills. I'm sure he's just as shocked as you are the Texans won that game.

The talking heads don't often point out stats that came in 12 or 14 game seasons. There are no * in the record books for those seasons either.

No sir, this is a new regime so it started over. It’s three straight years of starting over.
It started when Caserio started to clean up the cap mess and drafted Collins and then followed it up by drafting Stingley, Green,Petrie, Harris, Pierce. If you remember I said 3 years ago they would be where they're at today.

This isn't trying to take away from the job Ryans has done, he told Caserio the guys he wanted to draft and pickup in FA and Caserio got Ryans the guys he wanted. Getting leaders on both sides of the ball in Stroud and WA was a stroke of genius. Team leaders that are star level players have positioned this team to be a contender for yrs to come. It feels so good that this org has everybody on the same page. The future is bright.

Your right, I’m not about to go back and forth with what you actually said.

Hey good win and we’re in the playoffs. And that’s all that matters.

Alright folks time to talk about the team’s injury ceiling. How many players can we reasonably expect to be patched up and more effective than their replacement next week?

On offense:

The offense is unable to take the reigns off of Stroud because of injuries on the OL and a lack of healthy weapons.

This is forcing them to lean on the run even when it isn’t productive to keep the defense from racking up hits on CJ.

Having Brown and Woods back would help a lot in the fact they have shown the ability to get open and they know where they’re supposed to be. Stroud only has Nico/Schultz as reliable targets currently. Brown is the one that I hope makes it back the most. He has shown the ability to create chunk plays. Woods is nice in that he can provide a safety blanket on checkdowns like Schultz but he is not a significant upgrade over Hutch/Metchie.

The OL concerns me. The tackles are out there but they are banged up which compromises protection and limits the play calls. I’m sure the team wanted to try more runs outside the tackles but they did not want to overstress Tunsil. Though they did have more success anyways in the limited sample size. Running straight at Buckner/Stewart is a fool’s errand but I suppose they thought they had to do that to shorten the game.

Defense:

The loss of Ward does not concern me as much now that Kareem Jackson is here getting more playing time. I think they are the same level of player at this point except Jackson is healthy and available right now with another week in the system.

The DL concerns me. All starters are banged up and it shows. Will Anderson would not be playing if this wasn’t must win football. He’s hanging on by a thread but he’s battling.

Rankins/Collins are in a similar boat. We saw a lot of Hinish, Davis and Tart yesterday when Taylor was running over the defense. If Collins/Rankins were healthy enough they’d be out there in that situation.

Greenard is not healthy enough to play even emergency snaps. I assume they’ll shoot him up with the good stuff next week so he can play 10-12 snaps (especially if Hughes can’t go) but not sure how effective he’ll be. Good thing Barnett is healthy and fresh from not being used in Philly earlier this season.

The LBs are also banged up. Perryman left late with what appeared to be a stinger and Cashman is playing on a recently reinjured hamstring. Harris looks to be improving and that’s encouraging.

Nelson fills up the injury report every week but is still battling.

TLDR: Derek Stingley is one of the healthiest players on the team.
