I'm not going to rag on Mills any longer.
I think all the guys (or most of the guys) have quit or just going through the motion.
They need to keep their jobs, but that's about it.
This organization had failed them, a few who do care.
Why did Cooks want out?
The coaches don't trust to open up the playbook for Mills and that limits the downfield opportunities.
These guys think they're horses and they like to run.
But the scheme asks them to be mules a bit too often for even an ordinary offense.

I think we have different definitions of the words clear cut.
Clear cut in the respect that you want to draft a midget? A QB that size has never won a championship in the history of the NFL. But this guy's the unicorn.
Or an Ohio State QB that frankly has been disappointing this year, despite having a better receiving corps than the Texans currently have.

If we take a QB, 1 thing you have to take into consideration is the system they ran. Some air raid system QBs are fine in the NFL. Others show a little bit and never become anything. Sometimes they are just a product of the system. I didn't use to put much stock in that. However, over the years I have seen many QBs who don't really have to process much in college end up not being that good. When I started looking at it, turned out many where 1 read QBs in school. That or they had a stacked group of WRs that had 1st round abilities. In that situation by and large they system made the player. I look at:
Height, weight, arm talent, football IQ and yes system they played in. I don’t want a QB who is not going to handle getting sacked multiple times. And some of the top guys coming out have a huge amount of risk. If you are say 5' 10 and 175...I would pass. You are not going to grow or get much bigger. A huge risk for the position is repeated hits. So, yes I am a 6' 1+ 200lb (I hope or more) QB guy.

Take a look at photos of Young and Saban standing together…..Saban is listed at 5-6. No way in the world there’s a 6” difference between the two. 5-8 or 5-9 at 180 pounds (generous and wet) sounds about right.

he will be at or very close to 200 as a pro. They Will build his physique over a couple of years. I think measurables are way overrated. Only size that matters to me is the size of his heart. According to you, Jose Altuve should be riding a horse at Sam Houston race park instead of being a future hall of fame 2nd baseman.

I've seen lots of height/weight stats for Bryce Young, so really difficult to tell what's actually true. I tend to more believe 5'11, 197 lbs... since that seems to be the more frequent listing that's around the median. At the combine, Russell was 5'11 204.
Where do you see 5'10 186 and choose to believe that's accurate?

They can list Bryce Young at whatever they want right now. But when the combine rolls around, we'll all know for sure how much the numbers have been fudged to protect his prospect status. Eh, the back up qb is always the most popular guy on the team.......until he has to play. & sure Mills has been terrible......but what does that say about Allen if he couldn't beat him out in TC? All the talk about benching Mills is coming from the usual places..the media & fans..people still convinced that qb play is the reason this team is sucking ass right now...& just like in 2015 with the Mallett crap.............which was prior to your arrival here, they and you will find out........AGAIN that inserting a bad qb in over another bad qb isn't going to change this team's fortunes.....Davis Allen...Kyle Mills its not gonna matter which chump we have under center.......We're about to catch the beats after this browns game.

I said most of the systems like that didn't produce as good a QB. Meaning Mahomes is a small number who has been fine doing both. But, let's be honest, Mahomes is a great athlete and and likely could play other sports as well. Meaning he is gifted in general

The last thing I want is another QB steelb disapproves of. That means hate from day 1 regardless of what he does. Even if he brings a SB to Houston, we have to hear how they won it despite of him.

To be fair, Russell Wilson has won a championship as a sub 6-footer but he was also well put together and not slim-bodied. It doesn't look like he gained much weight over the years and lists at 215lbs this season.

Um Russel Wilson is listed at 5’11, he’s actually 5’10. Drew Brees is listed at 6’ and he’s actually 5’11. That’s two right there.
Bryce is listed at 6’,he’s actually 5’11.

The bigger question is probably not about height, but size. Brees was a pure pocket passer who didn't get hit as much as Bryce Young will. Wilson was always just a lot stockier and put together to take NFL punishment. One of the big calling cards for Young is his ability to make plays out of the pocket. So he's going to get hit and abused. Count me a little skeptical that he's going to hold up... If Young can get to 200 lbs at his pro day/combine and demonstrate zero falloff in skills/eludability, would feel much better about it.
In the end, I feel Stroud is probably the direction Caserio is going to go, if he doesn't trade down for extra picks.

I've said if Caserio picks a QB I will support him, even though picking a QB in next yrs draft lessens the odds of winning a championship and shortens the window for said QB to try to win a championship.

He's going to be another in a long line of Ohio State QB's. We're never going to agree so I'm moving on. Stroud hasn't impressed me at all this year.

They will have weapons next season. You act like they don’t have any draft picks in 23/24. And you still need to build starting the most important highest paid position in football. QUARTERBACK! Period.
And those weapons still most likely won't be as good as Stroud had at Ohio State.
