Davis Mills - statistical breakdown.

What does garbage time stats have to do with you always injecting Watson. I brought it up because that’s where Mills got a chunk of his yards.
I think 76's infatuation with Derricks garbage time stats made him want to compare Mills garbage time stats for some odd reason. Very strange the way his mind seems to work. I didn't bring up the garbage time stats.

David Carr. :brando:

i mean he does know something about being surrounded by trash and still being expected to perform at a high level franchise qb in the NFL…..in Houston .

yup 2 teams at completely opposite ends of the spectrum. I do find it comical that Dan Hanzus chose to drop in Mills’ stat line like that was the story of that game….surely the 300 yards rushing the defense gave up had nothing to do with that beat down did it?

Pretty much every website I read has the Texans with a new QB next season anyhow.

From NFL to ESPN, Sporting News, The Football Network, USA, etc.

And the fact that the Texans are at the bottom says it all.
It goes without saying that the whole team is bad, except for ST, of course.

i dont read any website except occasionally catching something on the nfl network…most of these guys dont follow the Texans close enough to offer any credible opinions beyond looking at highlights and stat lines…that dan hanzus snippet is pretty much what you’ll get from all those dudes.

Given the state of the 2021 and 2022 Texans…..can anyone tell me which 2021, 2022, or 2023 rookie QB does better and how he’d accomplish this feat?

There’s not going to be a better outcome until there’s a better team when the next QB arrives. I’ve seen enough good in Mills to gather his chances of improvement go up quite a bit when the Texans put a better team around him….this includes a new coaching staff.

I think we can all say with confidence Nick Casterio don’t givafuh what “everyone” thinks.
There have been people in the organization that felt that way. They are no longer here. But they did stay long enough to mess up the franchise, at least short term. The McNair’s are running a marathon of bad football decisions whereas those other guys sprinted to the finish line of fuckery.

How about 30 CFB games between East Carolina (17) and Washington State (13) over 3 consecutive uninterrupted seasons before being drafted in RD6 of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Jaguars.

Mills had 14 CFB games and 11 starts at Stanford during his 3 seasons which were interrupted by COVID-19, and forced him to bail earlier than desired for the NFL Draft. His 2 additional CFB seasons of development are happening on the fields of the NFL. I'll take the good with the bad during this process b/c when the Texans are truly ready to compete, then they could very well have their ready to go QB1.

Thanks for that. I have almost given up faith in Mills. Here's hoping the light comes on soon.

:coffee:

So you're saying the Mills vs. Josh Allen comparison is a valid one career wise?
Sorry. Didn't realize I posted career stats.

As an aside, when I went to grab Wilson's stats I saw Allen's & thought they were interesting. I think he was hurt.

Regardless, stats are just numbers do with them what you will. Well, I wouldn't infer "career" implications from a single game's stats, but I guess it depends on the conversation.

You didn't post career stats. I was being facetious and poking fun at one that likes to complain that Mills doesn't do what Allen does

Yes stats are what they are. Anybody can have a good or bad game statistically. It’s when those stats accumulate over the course of a season, career, where they start to paint a picture.

Man that’s a loaded question because you know how F’d up this organization is right now. And it’s not about if they could succeed with this team. It’s about building for the future.
Reading lots here, they don't want to build for the future, they want to draft a QB and immediately be a contender. Won't be no give him a year or so

Really?

You guys must have your heads buried in the sand. If we had a guy like DeSuan Watson we’d win at least 3 games. Maybe even 4.

I’ve seen it.
If we’re going always bring up their failures, why can’t we do the same with the little success they had. Are we not going to talk about the seasons in which we win 10 games?

Side note: I thought we weren’t allowed to bring up a certain ex player anymore unless it’s on the NFL page. I was told those comments were going to get deleted.

The team we have is nothing like that team that won 10 games. It’s more like the team that won 4. That’s why I brought it up in the context of this conversation.

As long as we don’t have a conversation about something off topic. Again the conversation is about the poor state of our team.

Didn’t say it was but we have to bring up the positive as well.

Those conversations were on topic. It was contrast and comparison.

Of course, if it fits in the conversation. We’re talking about drafting a QB & expecting instant gratification.

sigh… let me try it your way.

who? That can come in and succeed with the current team and coaches?
thats always the caveat these guys forget.

But we won 10 games one year.

Sounds like a Cowboys fan

We won 10 games more than one year. It’s like people on here always has something slick to say. Did I offend you with my comment or something?

I just don’t understand why you’re coming at me. The conversation was clearly about adding a QB from the upcoming draft to this team. In that context I mention we had a 4 year vet that was pretty good & this team won 4 games. Conclusion, adding a rookie QB is not going to improve this team.

Use those picks on blue chips, find out what we’re going to do with Lovie then maybe we’ll be ready to think about a QB.

10 win seasons had nothing to do with what we were talking about. So again… why do I need to bring up 10 win seasons now?

I’m not coming at anyone. Just read your slick comment about D-Creep because some people wants to draft a quarterback in the 22 draft. And the successful seasons count too. You can draft a quarterback, along with of their pieces and win in this league. The Bengals showed us that last season. It’s really not far fetched. Will that happen, more than likely not.

Do you honestly think those guys have a clue ?
Most of them never played a single down at the college level , and so they know virtually nothing about the pro game.

Last year they had us taking Thibodeaux or Hamilton
