Brady already has it all. How would one curse him? Forcing him to retire as the GOAT QB? Ok.

Brady was on in 2018 and lost the Super Bowl but won the Super Bowl the following year.

Mahomes? Probably will lose to Brady all over again if he makes to the Super Bowl.

Lamar Jackson was noticeably limping in practice Wednesday. Then didn't practice Thursday or today. He suffered a grade II low ankle sprain week 14. Harbaugh states now that Lamar Jackson has "a chance" to play this week............should have more accurately said he has a fat chance in Hell.

It does look like 15 from that angle. I think it is a 12 though. I can’t get a pic to load but if you are sober enough you can Google buccaneers player jersey and you will see what a two looks like and what a five looks like.

Slow day for sure.

Cousins has been the king of NFL contracts.

The Vikings are in a tough spot with Kirk Cousins
The quarterback who has delivered one playoff appearance during his time in Minnesota, and whose untimely COVID positive has delivered the de facto final nail on the prospects of another one, has one year left on his contract. He has a cap number of $45 million, along with a fully-guaranteed salary in 2022 of $35 million.
In February, Cousins told #PFTPM that he’s not inclined to re-do the current deal.

Is he supposed to turn down the contract he’s offered? Maybe stomp his feet and throw a temper tantrum/demand a trade when he sees a team better equipped to win than the one he signed a contract with like other players do?

Worst QBs have gotten to conference title game/Super Bowl. He’s a good player.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. I’m not begrudging him for the hustle. Just saying, it’s clear who he is. Wouldn’t want that leading my team if I could help it.

Isn’t that what all players are expected to do? Maximize their earning power while they can.

If your boss came to you and asked you to take a cut so that the company’s stock would go up would you?

There have been a few players that have reworked their contracts but I don’t know if that benefits the team more or ownership/FO.

Brady is pretty much the exception. But part of why he left was to get paid. That and won another Super Bowl quickly.

I'm not faulting the guy. Andre Johnson should have done the same thing instead of wasting his career with this franchise.

Speedy's point was that money was more important than winning to Cousins, and Cousins has clearly shown that tendency throughout his career.

I was just providing support for the original point when TheRealJoker said "Is he supposed to turn down the contract he’s offered?", when Cousins did that exact thing multiple times.

It's better if you follow along with the on-going conversation.

Your argument or source of information may not be painting the entire picture.

After his first big year Cousins wanted a 3 year 19.5M contract. Redskins rejected it - or Allen did.

Cousins bet on himself with the franchise tag and Washington having a more dysfunctional and abhorrent FO than ours got burnt playing their own game. As Cousins kept calling their bluff his price tag got higher and higher.

Not to mention the timeline of when Cousins was in Washington. I am sure there is an email from Gruden talking about it.

Then Cousins turned down a $90 million dollar offer from the Jets. Which was more than what Minnesota offered.

So the team is allowed to reject the player but as soon as the player starts playing the same game they are the bad guy?
The player is only in it for the money when he plays the game and wins?

The problem is that the NFL contracts aren’t fully guaranteed like other sports.

Am I following along now?

Yep, he turned down more money from the NYJ. So obviously he wasn't in itfor just the most money. He played the system and maximized his earnings. He essentially bet on himself to not get injured and won the lotto.

BTW, do the Vikes move on from Cousins this offseason? If so I dont think Mond is the answer. Zimmer was asked if he needed to see Mond this week? Zimmer's answer was no, I see him everyday. I'm so glad Speilmann took Mond instead of Mills.

From what little research I have done, and from what I hear from friends in Minnesota, - fans don’t care for Cousins. And Zimmer and Cousins aren’t on the best terms.

I would keep Zimmer before Cousins.

Stefanski kept that offense rolling. See Case Keenum’s best year as evidence.

Pat Shurmur got the HC promotion after Keenum’s 2017. He was OC and Stefanski was QB coach. His numbers have eclipsed Keenum’s in every way since arriving in Minnesota and helped Stefanski get promoted from OC to HC as well.

Keenum’s Vikings team had the best defense in the NFL in both yards and points allowed.

This year’s Vikings defense is allowing the 8th most points and 2nd most yards.

With Zimmer being a defensive minded coach i’m not sure why you would rather have him. Seems like a Jeff Fisher type at this point. If 7-9 (or 10) seasons are your thing then I guess stick with Zimmer.

You are right. I got my years mixed up. Stefanski was coaching as a QB coach and not OC.

I think the defense is just in a slump and this year has been an off year. Cousins is a good QB, but maybe it’s Kubiak Jr that is calling the plays that is problem.

I just see Zimmer as a coach who has been able to compete with Rodgers which is no easy task.

Minnesota may just need to regroup.

U. of San Diego, Stanford, Michigan, San Francisco..

He's won everywhere he's been. And by and large pretty quickly.

He's worn people out at just about every stop as well, but for a franchise as in tatters as this one I'll take the former and cross the bridge of the latter when that time comes.

Speaking of wearing people out at every stop. Is it just me or is Jim Harbaugh a more successful version of OB? Both have that “teapot” quality to them.

It's not an insult toward Cousins to say he cared more about getting paid than building a winning team. Our hero JJ Watt just did the same thing in 2020. Big deal. I'd do the same thing if I was in the same situation.

I absolutely love intense coaches like Harbaugh.

Made a SB and a NFCCG (Should've made another SB if not for KR/PR fumbling 2 kicks)

Comparing Harbaugh to BOB is a bad comparison.

Give me a few SB's and AFCCG's and I will be happy with him wearing out his welcome.

He only wore out his welcome with the 49ers. He lost a power struggle with Baalke (York made the wrong call on who to let go.) and it took almost a decade for York and the 49ers to recover from York's decisions.

Give me a slightly narcissistic driven to win guy like Harbaugh over a politician like Baalke. I'm so glad Baalke is now running the Jags. We wont have to worry about them for awhile.
