Serious question. How is Matt Ryan doing this year? How about Herbert? I haven't paid attention to those teams, so I really don't know.
The Falcons were not expected to make the playoffs.
If you look at the pre-season ranking from various outlets (PFF, NFL, SI, ESPN, Sporting News, USA), most have them in the third tier, and as low as 27th.
They started the year with a lot of question marks on the Oline while the defense remains poor (close to the Texans level).
Yet, they're scratching and clawing at 6-7, fighting for a playoff spot.
Yes, Matt has a down year statistically by his standard, but he's making it count.
They should win against the Lions.
And then they will need a win either over the Saints (also 6-7) or the Niners (7-6) to make it.
....
The Chargers garnered a wide range of view in the preseason, as high as 8th, and as low as the low 20s.
The overall thinking is that they're an above average team that should make the playoffs.
They're sitting at 8-5 with remaining games that include the Texans, Broncos, Raiders, and Chiefs.
Just one win will probably put them in the playoffs.
Herbert is doing just fine despite a defense that ranks 26th in points allowed and a running game that ranks 21st (only because of his own 286 yards and team-leading 5.6 ypc
Don't you think the Texans can use that guy as a RB? LOL
