What is Watson's value in a trade?

If so, isn't it too late? Hopkins gone, Nick hired, Watson doesn't like culture and even if his mother put him in a corner I doubt that changes his mind. Will Bieniemy as HC placate #4?

Bet you Daboll is the next HC if DW4's traded.

Caldwell if DW4 isn't traded.

So the Texans spend the next 3 (or more) years searching for a quarterback?

NFW - Jets 4 1st RDs is better value.

I pass. Deshaun Watson is a generational QB - a future Hall of Famer (for the record I don't think the Texans should trade him). If he is traded, 3 first-round picks, 3 second-round picks, and a player would get the conversation started. Trade conversations involving JJ Watt should start with 3rd and 6th round pick.

Watson means more to the Texans than the entirety of the front office staff. McNair needs to remove his own Most Valuable Person (MVP) designation from Jack Easterby. Watson's assessment of the team is considerably more valuable than Easterby's.

What has Easterby accomplished during his tenure? Maybe he should update his resume to read the following:

I am Jack Easterby

I got rid of a head coach
I got rid of a GM
I got rid of the best WR in the game
I fired the team's team's VP of communications
I alienated the team's QB - a future Hall of Famer
I alienated the team's Defensive Anchor and future Hall of Famer
I convinced the owner to ignore the recommendations of the firm he hired to find the next GM
I hand-picked the next GM
I got the owner to take responsibility for my failures
I got the owner to trust me more than he does his own players

Its a great trade if you are the 49ers. They are drafting 12th this year and honestly if they got Watson that would be the lowest they would draft so 22 and 23 would likely be late teens to late twenties. Likewise Pats are drafting 14th, a Jets 2nd or Miami 3rd is worth more than 12th and 14th combined.

Why are teams trading their futures for a QB that takes up too much cap space? Doesn't everyone know you can't win if your QB takes up too much cap space???
It does make sense to trade your $40MM a year QB if your team according to Over The Cap is $20MM OVER the cap in 2021 and a league worst $43.75 under in 2022 like the Texans. It also makes sense to trade valuable draft picks for a $40MM franchise QB if your team according to OTC is $62MM UNDER the cap in 2021 and $183MM UNDER the cap going into 2022 like the Jets.

Correct me if im wrong but I thought his big money doesn't kick in till 2022?

It will be interesting to see josh Allen and Jackson contract extension coming up

No I want to discuss. You can find Miami depth chart and look. I suggest you research cornerback Xavien Howard who is very upset at the recent contract he signed. Dolphins this past offseason signed CB Byron Jones who I wanted just not at price he got.

Also we need another safety and Brandon Jones 22 looking good to me if placed across from Reid who is going into his last contract year..

I just wanted you to engage & didn't mean to offend you.
You took me wrong. In no way was I offended. I simply was saying I do not know much about Miami. I was assuming you think they don't have anybody of any value and I just thought that they have to have some players of value just based on their record this past season. Perhaps I am wrong to think that way.

None the less I enjoy people sharing their knowledge. So thank you for sharing yours.

Lol,
Good one, Member 10559.
Thanks for updating me as I rarely check. When I do it's usually to tease those in front of me. When I first saw that I thought what the heck is he talking about? And then I thought somebody changed my username to tease me.

It continues to amaze me at how wrong all of us on this board usually are with our predictions for hiring of coaches, Signing free agents or keeping them, and our draft picks.
You can also include the media. Supposedly, the Chargers GM went to high school with Daboll and they hired Staley. Saleh supposedly had ties to the Detroit area and ended up with the Jets.
Agents, players, front offices and media are leaking, spreading disinformation and until formal announcements are made, it's really a pointless discussion.

That's why I don't understand why some are getting so worked up about the shenanigans on Kirby. They will do whatever the hell they want to do. Then based on if they like or hate the move, the fans will then push their own "creative" narratives and conspiracy theories.

Whoops. I knew I should have taken that bet! It was for $10,000 right?

Yep, it looks like Bienemy is going to get the job. Cal's Cucked in DW4's corner and the Texans will continue to be a loser org. The lost decade.

I'm holding him to the same standard that BOB was held too.

2 yrs.

"Colored Coach" ? Now there's a blast from the past, haven't heard that term for some time.
I won't imply anything but rather I'll be perfectly explicit:
The Houston Texans will have an African American HC this Fall if Deshawn Watson is also on the Texans roster.

Yep,

Cal's going full on Cuck for DW4's wishes.

I'll bet 90 percent of the people on here don't know what the word really means

It's all about the Benjamins . No other team has wanted him. He is probably house shopping as we speak
We don't know no other team wanted him.

We know no other team wanted to wait until February to hire a coach.

I'm going to wait to see if he wants the job before I wish him any ill will.

For all we know he's begging Reid to let him stay one more year, "please Andy. Please don't make me go."
True. But, what is the fun in waiting when you can start gathering slings and arrows to build a narrative you can copy and paste for the next 2-4 years?
