if we've got a receiver at the 50 with the DB on the inside I would hope some of that speed we heard about creates separation. With sub 4.49 guys DW should be passing deep every play with one of our three open. Maybe throw in a slant by a TE or draw to one of the Johnsons occasionally.
I'm pretty sure the argument was basically if we're looking at Savage, Oz, Fitz & Hoyer... save your money & play Keenum. At least that's the way I saw it.
I'm seeing Baker Mayfield & Pat Mahomes commercials all the time. Why ain't the Texans marketing machine getting in on some of that action?
I haven't seen any Watson commercials other than a couple of HEB ones early

Watching the Chiefs running plays vs the Texans defense on the All-22 is laughable but its not necessarily due to missing a capable space eater. Our cap guzzling LBs missed some tackles even when they were clean or simply jumbled into each other on a few plays. I also noticed the spacing was huge on some formations that grew to ginormous after the snap especially when JJ takes his usual wide angles. This could get better as they get more live game reps but it's almost a mirror image of the run defense last year which was also putrid.
I didn't see McKinney clean on any play. He was washed out on just about every play

Mckinney and Cunningham had absolutely horrible games against KC..Cunningham i somewhat undestand b/c he was chasing around Helaire, Kelce or in some instances we had him matched up against Watkins. McKinney? he really had no excuses. there were times where it was just him & Helaire in the hole and he just whiffed b/c he was sitting back waiting for Helaire to come to him instead of attacking and forcing him to declare.

But that's not the point, what college has run a version of this offense and had a successful QB in the NFL. I cant think of 1. Maybe this guy exists and if he does I would love you to direct me to him so I can learn what he's doing to be successful in the NFL.

What college coach or team has consistently produced pro qbs?
Boyd was never considered a high probability nfl caliber qb prospect. He was a hopeful based on experience, intangibles, and marginal talent.
What would you consider to be 'this offense'? After the whole EP (not Parcells) offense/WCO convo-debacle I think it important to at least get terms straight first.
The Ravens are really good. Their interior OL is below avg according to Omerta but their DL is much improved and they have 4 stud CB's.

It’s been several times last season I was screaming at the TV,” GET RID OF THE FREAKING BALL DESUAN. This is when he was trying to play hero ball. Then there are too many times in which the pocket collapses on him so fast or one of his linemen gets beat so badly ( case in point at least 4 of the sacks on last Thursday. Then you have hear the media heads over and over again with these terrible hot takes. Now the hate crew on here quickly jumps on that bandwagon and repeats that nonsense. Now we’re bringing up the all 22 like its golden. It’s a good tool but it does not tell the full story. Does Watson miss open receivers, yes. Guess what they all do.

It's an opponnet gameplan offense. The QB needs to truly understand each weeks opponent and what they need to do each week to attack that opponent. This is why BOB/DW4 are oil/water. BOB's asking DW4 to recognize things on a weekly basis and DW4 will never be able to be truly efficient in this offense.
This is one of the reasons I want BOB gone. Because it's going to be a long 4 yrs as is. Thing is I dont see DW4 improving enough to win a championship even if the Texans fire BOB and hire this mythical HC.

What would you like me to do to prove it? I think the Browns rushing for over 200 yds proves it and I only watched the 2nd qtr of Reader getting his a** kicked by #77. It might be true because I didn't watch the 2nd half, maybe Reader kicked a** in the 2nd half and I didn't watch the 2nd half.

What is real is that O'Brien's play design is really unimaginative.
Besides copying some RPO and play off the ZBS concept, and a few other stuffs, it's just "go beat your man" basically.
There's not much of "putting the players" in a position to succeed, only the opposite.
At least show me the plays where he was kicked in the rear.
It's a RPO offense but because the rules are different in the NFL vs College. This doesn't even take into account the difference in QB injury risks in college vs the NFL. If you want your QB to get hurt running the RPO will increase the chances of the QB getting hurt just like DW4 did in his rookie season. I like the RPO offense and ish the Texans would run it since that's the offense DW4's most comfortable in. But if you run that offense you are going to need 2 or 3 QB's that can run that offense if you want to be successful.

Lol.....Part of why the Chiefs and Ravens are so good is b/c it is just that simple...GO BEAT YOUR MAN...& they go out and do it b/c ultimately, that's what it comes down to. You're not gonna trick, playcall and scheme your way to wins in this league dude.....not consistently anyway.
The play credited with turning the tide in the SB for the chiefs wasn't some clever playcall or schemed up play..it was a very simple play that they absolutely lived off in the regular season...probably ran it dozen of times throughout the year...& the 49ers were absolutely ready for it too. But what happened. A great player made a great play against a fierce pass rush to pull it off.....Still.

Took me nearly 6 hours.
& there's no method to his plan. Sometimes you'll see an offense run a play to set something up later in the game.
It took 5 years to see a wrinkle in the bubble screen that got us an easy TD.
It took 6 years before wr saw a real screen.
& then when something does work, he stops doing it.

Yeah, but on top of all the injuries on the line (and you know how playing next to bad players can be), the Bengals were already operating from the bottom.
They were dead last against the run last year.
Their DC was a DB coach who had never been on a succesful defense his entire/short NFL career.

What I will tell you and I was at that game is DW4 didn't see alot of open recievers and no I'm not going to prove it. I was there and saw it with my own eyes.

This is one reason this offense is a bad fit for DW4.
There isn't a QB in the league that O'Brien can save.
His scheme is just bad.
Also, you want to remember that the Rams always kept Keenum under their nose.
He did not have TC with them in 2014 and needed time to learn the playbook.
What they did a couple of years later was to give Keenum a first round tender so that Kubiak and the Broncos couldn't poach him off their roster once he finally did have time to learn their offense.
And Keenum did knock Foles (a first round draft pick) from the starting position role.
And yes, the Broncos did give him a good offer to become starting QB for them a couple of years later.
At that time, I came on the Broncos board to remind some of the posters there not to have too high of a hope; that the Broncos are still a few years away.
Also, their spending on the defensive side was 7th in the league, and 28th on offense.
Not only that, they spent their first round pick on that pass rusher and not Quentin Nelson.
(And Boles will still by abysmal at LT).

Lining up in the I, the run can still go anywhere, not just through Reader's gap.
Sure, we all know the Bengals overpaid to try to get off of the cellar and they did, temporarily. They improve their run D by one spot (LOL) and their overall D by a few more spots.
The central point is they are better defensively with Reader just as the Texans are worse without him.
Just because there are open receivers, it doesn't mean they are necessarily available to the QB.
As many set of zebras' eyes as there are on the field, the referees still miss a lot of things.
And true, there's no point of discussion when you're not willing to go back and rewatch the plays in contention.

77 is the RG; it was Covington who lined up on him most often.
He (Covington) #99 has one black arm sleeve/protector.
Reader @98 wore two white arm sleeves and he lined up most often at the nose (over the Center, #64).
Chubb first TD was off of the RT, after the RG started manhandling Covington, the RT came over to help before springing out to the second level.
The RG, LG, and C all put #98 on the ground

Remember when everybody said Carr would be great if he just had a QB coach? They hired Kubiak and after 1 yr Kubiak told the McNair's you cant win with Carr at QB. Poof, Carr was gone. I expect the same thing to happen to DW4 in yr 3 of his contract.
