You might want to ask the person who made the comparison in the first place. Grams said last year wouldn't have happened under Kubiak and then illustrated with 'how far they went using 4 QBs.' Implication being OB had done something Kubiak hadn't/wouldn't have done - win with 4 QBs. Problem is Texans & Kubiak, with 4 QBs, went to the playoffs and won a game in 2011.
I'd bring him in because I think he's super motivated to show he can still play. And from what I've heard he's learned his lesson and his wife and her fam have forgiven him. This would be a good opportunity for the Texans to show they can give a reformed guy a second chance.

And I've never laid a hand on a woman in my life.
Well.... not counting spankings that were requested

I don't see the comparison, can you elaborate please?

Dudette is appropriateDude..... it's Grams![]()
I forgot about Delhomme. Did he even play that year?
Dude, Dudette - whatever - I am use to you guys thinking most everyone here is male. No offense intended.
My sincere apologies 'dudette'.I forgot about Delhomme. Did he even play that year?

With their position secured and nothing to lose but more players to injury, coach Gary Kubiak called for a 2-point conversion to avoid overtime and win the game in regulation. "You would never go for 2 there in any other situation," Kubiak said. "But where we were physically, at the end of the game, I had a tight end (Garrett Graham) playing linebacker. Our team, I had to get them to next week." But tight end Joel Dreessen was flagged for illegal motion, and then backup center Thomas Austin flipped the snap over Delhomme's head and the game was over.
If we have learned anything about rehabilitation then it is that it is not a precise science and different bodies react differently. Even the same body doesn't react the same way every time. The times are guidelines, not guarantees. My angle is a little different from unwarded optimism. The thing I'm trying to stave of is the, "Give him a few more weeks" thing. Like Clowney. He was originally supposed to take 9 months to recover. He had surgery Dec 8. OB said we're hoping to get him in practice August 17.
Jan 8 = 1 month
Feb 8 = 2 months
March 8 = 3 months
April 8 = 4 months
May 8 = 5 months
June 8 = 6 months
July 8 = 7 months
August 8 = 8 months
August 17 = 8.5 months
Now, I don't know what "return to practice" means, but it most likely would be limited... giving him 3 weeks to get to 100% participation, which would conclude the 9 month recovery.
But we've got guys who want to put him on the PUP list "just to be safe."

Ok, I will grant you the 4 QBs that year - however it was not necessary. We were already in the playoffs and they sat TJ so he would be rested and available for the playoff game. Last year it was necessary to use 4 QBs. OB even got Case his first wins - something Kubiak did not do.
OB even got Case his first wins - something Kubiak did not do.
Arian Foster & Jj Watt got Case his first win. Something they did not do in 2013. (not necessarily Jj Watt, but the defense did their job at the end of 2014. Not so much at the end of 2013)
Let's talk about Foster... expected recovery? 3 months I'm guessing? So maybe after the bye week?
John McClain @McClain_on_NFL
At worst, Foster should be back 4 last 8 games. Texans bye is 9th week and start 2nd half in 10th week, giving him 2 more weeks if needed.
Foster could be out 2 months, which means first month of season, or 3 months, meaning he'd return for 2nd half of season.
Foster has returned from a lot of injuries and played well, including back surgery last year. I expect him to return no later than 2nd half.
Texans don't have to decide on Foster going on IR-designated to return till cut to 53. That gives them 1 month to chart his progress.
It's not that simple. Most times a release has restrictions like the "light duty" often given to blue collar workers as they WORK their way back into shape. They are able to do SOME, but not ALL. The release given my daughter was "good to work and GRADUALLY try additional duties, but STOP when an activity is PAINFUL." It was very flexible and certainly not an on-off switch. It was a rheostat. Return from surgery is likely to be similar. A release to begin practice does NOT indicate ready for the playing field during a meaningful game. It's a step.Nobody said it was. But if the doctors clear him, he participates, & they see no ill effects.... it's time.

I was thinking about people with common sense. Silly me.This is the Texans medical staff we are talking about......Sooooo Foster will be ready Saturday for our first pre season game![]()
What if I told you it was possible to sign a guy with Arian Foster's skill set who is still in his prime and would only cost the veteran's minimum to add to this year's roster?
Yeah, and Foster does the team no good always injured. There aren't any free agents currently with Arian Foster's skillset.

You do realize Arian Foster's career is nearly over?
I wouldn't be shocked if he's released next off-season.
Going into his final contract year. Is he worth a big re-sign?
Telling me how great he used to be doesn't quite help us right now.
Well if my car broke down of course i would rather have a lexus than a geo metro, but then again at that point i would just be happy to have a car.
I'd argue Ray Rice still can do a lot of the same things in terms of receiving out of the backfield. His blocking isn't as good though. For a team with young wide receivers and two quarterbacks with little experience that isn't a bad thing. I know his 2013 stats were disappointing running the ball but they were quite good the previous three seasons. He didn't play in 2014 and got to rest his body. I think he'd have a lot to prove but whatever. Believe it or not, I used to laugh at Baltimore fans when they said he was as good as Foster. Now not so much because our guy is at the tail end of his career also. What does any of this have to do with my response to the question put out?
The idea was proposed that there is a back available with Foster's skill set. I just answered that there is in fact not.

The problem is going to be that Alfred Blue and Chris Polk will inevitably get hurt. Their bodies break down way too fast. Both of them are already dealing with nagging injuries in training camp now.Well if my car broke down of course i would rather have a lexus than a geo metro, but then again at that point i would just be happy to have a car.

Then we agree and I support your statements, albeit with more words. That's what I said... though not as drawn out. They release him, allow him to participate... monitor for ill effects (ie pain, swelling, discoloration, etc...) if it's all good, they continue to progress to the next step.
Look, you said recovery time is not an exact science. I said no one said it was. They'll step up his activity watching at each stage for ill effects. When he's ready, he's ready.

I just hope one or both of them can stay healthy for as long as possible. I could be generous assuming it won't be until Week 5 when we're starting our fourth RB on the depth chart. It would be like you have a car but they keep breaking down beyond repair and you have to buy another "used one."
I already picked up Jonathan Grimes on my Yahoo! Fantasy team because I know he'll be starting pretty early in the regular season when most people in my league don't even know who the heck he is.
Given the power football run scheme O'Brien wants to run,
Where and when was this announcement?
Through common sense and watching the offensive scheme last year.
Try wishful thinking. We're running 4 of 5 OLmen picked by Kubiak. Our 1st attempted OL coach was a Ferentz, there's a Ferentz on our team and our new OL coach played for Ferentz and has been a primarily ZBS coach. Call me when we hire Hudson Houck. Oh and the Patriots are not a power run team either, they're primarily zone.
Argue all you like, I see what's coming down the pipeline.
No argument - I've got facts and you've got nada. Thanks for clarifying the latter.
I didn't say we weren't going to run a form of the ZBS.
Look at the linemen we're employing, all bigger bodied.
Does it pain you to have to always be right? The desire to win every argument seems to cloud your ability to accept new ideas.
For me, I am not sure the punch had as much impact as the way he drug her around the way he did while she was unconscious. Surely a man that strong could pick her up in his arms, but it was like she was just a duffelbag of dirty jocks or something. That was creepy to me.
Then we agree and I support your statements, albeit with more words.
I didn't say we weren't going to run a form of the ZBS. Look at the linemen we're employing, all bigger bodied. We're going to play this complimentary football game that OB loves. Rely on defense and grind the ball in the 3rd and 4th quarter. I see Hilliard taking on a Laveon Bell type of between the tackles role. We can revisit this in a few months.

Golden Triangle? Isn't that the name of a strip club in Beaumont? I think I drove by it returning from a boat race a few years ago.Golden Triangle baby... we gotta stick together amongst these city slickers.
You'd have to ask Marshall. I don't pay for sex.Golden Triangle? Isn't that the name of a strip club in Beaumont? I think I drove by it returning from a boat race a few years ago.
Some are comparing AP with Rice. And can't understand why AP is accepted by a team and Rice is not. The way I see it, there are enough people out there that could identify with the "whipping" of his boy with a switch and thus be more forgiving (I not being one of them). On the other hand, there would be few that would identify or forgive the cave man tactics Rice demonstrated on his girlfriend/wife. Many teams out there could care less about having a dickwad on their team. But this video being so extensively nationally distributed and replayed in its horror would make it very difficult for any team to overcome the negative PR and fan's disgust as it would even spread to his appearances in games. I'm glad his wife still loves him, because I believe very few others do
If you recall some of the draftnik threads, TPN and I went back and forth on whether or not it made sense to take a RB with our first pick. I was for it and was all in on Todd Gurley until Doc CNNND enlightened me regarding his knee issues. After the Rams snagged him I was silently hoping we'd get Gordon but SD snapped him up right before our pick.
No one else was worth a "first day" pick (rds 1-2) IMO.
...sound familiar????)...........or week 5.“Gurley’s quad muscle is way ahead of what you would expect even at this stage and that’s vital to a good recovery, as you know,” Andrews said. “The Georgia trainer, Ron Courson, did a great job the first six weeks post-surgery and then Todd came here [at the Andrews Institute in Florida] and I was very happy before he left for Indianapolis. He’s been running on a treadmill, running underwater, he’s never had any swelling.”
