no congrats from me, seattle did not deserve this game period, they got lucky by bad officiating, the nfl sucks
Death to Google Ads! Texans Talk Tip Jar! 🍺😎👍
Thanks for your support!
I think a certain decision to "play not to lose" after a big first half had a lot to do with it, too...
Rosencopter.
The play calls were fine. The QB was fine. Defense failed to put together two solid halves.
We need a new defense. It's wade Phillips fault. Its cushing's fault for getting concussed. It's Kareem's fault. Special teams was ok, but eff them too ya know?
The QB was fine though. People keep letting him down and putting too much in him.
Hire Kevin Sumlin and draft Johnny Manziel
For the record, I'm only half serious.
............signed, LaurieI'm giving up on you, Matt. Expect divorce papers tomorrow.
Sitting here in complete shock, they didn't win we gave them that game.
I think I've figured out what it is about Schaub that polarizes fans so much. When he has time and can settle in the pocket, he's incredibly accurate, one of the very best in the NFL. So when the O-line is giving good protection, and sometimes in two-minute drills with a 3-man rush, Schaub can look like the best in the game.
BUT... on the other hand, he is one of the worst QBs in the NFL when he is under pressure. His decision-making is questionable. And when facing pressure, there are several things you can do, and most NFL QBs can do one of these three things reasonably well:
(1) "Feel" the pressure, step up or to the side, and buy another 2-3 seconds or more (Peyton Manning is ridiculous at this);
(2) Be able to throw accurately on the run (Ben Roethlisberger);
(3) Beat you by tucking the ball away and using their legs (Wilson and several others).
Most QBs are decent at at least one of these. Schaub is fairly awful at all three. So when he's under a lot of pressure, a sack or an incomplete pass is the best you can reasonably hope for. Add to that a large dose of questionable decision-making under pressure, and well.... the secret to beating the Texans is getting a pass rush that keeps Schaub under almost constant pressure. Period. The game plan is almost that simple.
[EDIT: That all said, Kubiak sets him up to fail with his "play not to lose" strategy whenever he takes a big lead into halftime.]
Yes, but even then Schaub is more accurate than most. And he is pretty cool in a two-minute drill... and is very good at it when he has time. Some QBs may fold under the pressure. I will give Schaub credit there, where I feel it's due.
Yup, agree 100%.
Gary's overly conservative and predictable play calling and Schaubs almost guaranteed pick six per game.
That interception was the nail.
What? Sarcasm I hope. Defense played great for the most part. The offense sucked big time in the second half.
Defense didn't do enough. They should have stopped them or got a pick six themselves. Yeah they did good early, but they didn't finish.
It's so hard being a QB. I think he did about as good as he could have all things considered.

Yeah, Schaub was great when the o-line was one of the best in the NFL. But with this patchwork line we have now, we nned a more athletic guy back there. This is just a bad combo. Fix the o-line or switch the QB.
No he's not. He throws passes at peoples feet all day long and they scoop them up and he gets credit for being accurate. That's bull****. His two-minute drill "super powers" are also imaginary. Who has he come back on and stolen a win from? Mostly nobody's. When Matt rally's the team against Brady or Rogers let me know. Mostly he does it against teams that had little business being in the game to begin with (and that can often thank a gift or two from Matt for even being around at crunch time).
Schaub is a massive liability. He gets more rope than Carr did. **** him and **** Gary too. It's time for Matt to sit down and if Gary doesn't agree then it's time for the Wade Phillips era to begin in Houston.
This loss is mostly on Schaub with 2 ints, pick 6 and not making up for that when he had the chance.
Another note this d is a different beast or should i say a lack thereof when Cushing is out. A 90+ yard drive and stupid mistakes

This line plays fine. Look at the line that stood across the field from us today. They had the benefit of an athletic QB so every mistake they made didn't automagically turn into a fetal position Gomer Pyle moment.
Ryan Harris is a perfectly serviceable LT. Newton is not great but he's better than many. This still leaves two Pro Bowlers out there.
The line is an excuse and you would think that Texans fans would have learned to identify that after 5 years of David Carr. Instead we're making excuses all over again for Matt Schaub.

Seahawks showing their are legit Superbowl contenders while the Texans are content with competing for the AFC South championship and I'm not sure if we're really better than the Colts.

Meh, our offense is always giving the other team points.
10 points given up by the offense, a fumble by tate that gave up 3 points and ANOTHER pick 6 by Schaub.
Wow. Just absolutely WOW. Two absolutely gritty performances from both teams. Really could have gone either way. Russell Wilson is a demigod.
WOW. Great game. You guys are great hosts.
Good God no. I'm not a total anti-Kubes fan, (he has rings as an OC, it's not like he sat on his ass coaching) but please, Wade Phillips as HC is an awful idea. It's better to look elsewhere for a coach.

So everyone here expected SEA not to adjust? They're the best D in the league, God some of you can be caustic and nauseating. The game came down to one play, KJax did not have to slam that guy, stupid decision that DID cost the game since it was a tie prior to giving up the 22 yards. Now you people csn move on to predicting the Slaughter in San Francisco, pathetic.
Bring on the rockets.
Seems like after that pick 6 which was wholly unnecessary, I agree.
I've been a Schaub supporter but that was really bad. Up by 7, with an upcoming punt that would've pinned them, he should have just eaten it on the ground at least.
I am to the point were we are the best we will ever get right now
This team is pretty much maxed out with Kubiak and Schaub at the helm. As much as I hate them, you give Brady and Belichick this kind of supporting cast, and you're looking at a team with enough talent to go 14-2.
