Jets/Texans preseason opener - GAMEDAY THREAD

Hey Leinart is looking pretty good, I know it is just a couple of short throws and medium throws so far but better than how he was.

I think we would have made the damn playoffs in 2009 had it not been for kris Brown's shanks. Blew the MNF game vs. Titans, at Reliant, for damn sure that year. *&^%$#!

I've got to say the Jets blocking scheme has been awful.

In saying that I like the pressure and variation that the Texans are bringing.
 
OK, I'm calling it right now:

This week, when the sports shows give Texans-Jets highlights...they're going to say "Look at that Wade Phillips 3-4 defense! Sack after sack! Texans bringing the heat and pressuring the QB, something they lacked last year."

Watch for it. It'll be nuts.
 
Do the corners seem to be slowing down the QB or is the DLine getting to the QB? Seems like the latter but I can't see much of the DBs unless they show play again and focus on them.
 
Damnit, I wish the regular season were here already! This defensive performance has me excited. Reminds me of getting Matt Schaub after all those terrible years with Carr as QB.

I think thats a good thing normally when they focus on our DBs its a long TD highlight. Not tonight BABY
 
Defense seems to be "getting it" even in such a short time. Even if one player is blocked out, another is coming from another angle. We should have a great rotation of front 7 if Mario can get it together soon.
 
4 first half sacks - 1 FF - 1 int that was called back for a penalty - several plays behind the line of scrimmage. So far our defense is looking really good. Some problems with slants, some problems with some run plays. But overall, this looks really promising.

Nading and Adibi are a little bit surprising to me... Reed is looking good. Watt is a beast. Mario still seems a bit lost. Our secondary could be better - and it should be better with Joseph out there.

On Offense, Schaub looked a little out of sync. Leinart looking really good - receivers dropping some passes. Oh and that HB is looking great - maybe we go into the season with 4 or even 5 HBs? (Foster, Ward, Tate/Slaton, new guy with funny name)

It's our twos against their twos; sounds like a fair fight to me
and OBTW, that's our FOURTH string RB. And since Studdard is gone at least one third string guard
